Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 1412 - 552: Taking, Not Stealing_3
After they finished talking.
Alka stared at the image in the Mirror, making sure it showed what was really happening.
That image in the Mirror was, of course, the situation on Southern Cross Island.
Then Alka looked at the last Tower of Trial standing before him.
He reached out lightly and grabbed.
The Tower of Trial vanished in front of everyone.
Alka had stolen it.
Or rather, it didn’t really count as stealing, because the Divine Hall of Trial had already given Alka control over the Tower of Trial.
Otherwise Alka wouldn’t have been able to move the Tower of Trial at all.
Then Alka turned to the others and said, "Let’s go."
"Uh... you’re not putting it into the small world?"
"It’s fine, I’ll put it in after I’m back on the ship. For now, I’ll just keep it stolen."
"You can do that?" Jason asked, a little shocked.
If you could just ’keep it stolen’ like that, then in what kind of state was the stolen object right now?
He really couldn’t wrap his head around it.
But he didn’t press the issue. He took it as a chance to see another side of Alka’s powers, the even more outrageous side.
Stranger than They had imagined.
They left this Trial Island.
And returned to the Dawn Sound.
Before they left, Simon had picked up the shut-down triangular device from among the ruins.
It had suffered quite a lot of damage, though, and looked to be in rough shape. They’d just have to see later if it could be repaired.
Then They all entered the small world together.
This was now the concrete display of what They had achieved over the nearly ten years.
When Alka reached the gap in that ring of Towers of Trial—
Nafutos’s figure appeared.
He looked at the gap, looked at Alka’s arrival. He had already sensed that the last Tower of Trial had disappeared, which meant Alka had taken it.
He had come to witness this moment.
Or rather, everyone who had come in was here to witness this moment.
Alka opened his palm.
The final Tower of Trial appeared.
And slowly descended into the gap.
Thus, the twelve Towers of Trial formed a complete ring.
"At last... the scene from back then has finally appeared again," Nafutos murmured as he watched.
Alka kept his eyes on him, waiting to see what he would do next.
Only after calming himself for a while did Nafutos say, "Have you decided you want to leave these twelve Towers of Trial here? Or are you planning to place them somewhere else?"
"Once you decide where you’re going to store them, we’ll begin linking the twelve Towers of Trial together. At that time, their true power will fully manifest.
That will also mean it will be almost impossible to move them again, unless you blow the world up one more time."
At those words,
Alka shook his head. "Then let’s not rush this. The twelve Towers of Trial definitely shouldn’t stay here."
As for exactly where to place them—
Alka would have to discuss it with the other leaders of the Church.
This wasn’t something he could just decide on his own.
Because those twelve towers weren’t collected solely by their team.
Aside from a few that They had a hand in, for most of the towers They were basically acting as collectors.
Like running errands—work that mainly only Alka could do.
But that didn’t mean Alka’s contribution was somehow immense.
Nafutos nodded.
His figure vanished from where he stood.
He needed to bring the good news back to the instructors waiting in the Divine Hall.
Alka and the others also left the small world and came back outside.
"So, are we heading back now?"
Chadite asked.
Alka shook his head. "No. You’re forgetting something important."
As Alka spoke, three items appeared in front of him—the three that Chadite had collected earlier.
Things left behind by the death of the God of Rebirth.
"These three Treasures are two Scepters and one Crown."
"Huh?" They couldn’t help being stunned.
They had never imagined that, among these three Treasures, there would be a Crown Level Treasure, and the other two were Scepter Level.
At most, They had thought there might be a single Scepter Level Treasure among them.
It had never occurred to Them that there would also be a Crown Level one.
So nothing for a long time, and now two at once?
Alka nodded. "Don’t be surprised. These three Treasures are the Divinity the God of Rebirth once stole from the world when he betrayed it.
Now he’s returned it."
"Returned it?" Chadite was puzzled.
That meant Alka and this God of Rebirth had had some kind of exchange They knew nothing about.
Back when Alka was talking with him on the island, all They had seen was Them speaking.
They had no idea what was actually said. No information at all could pass through—aside from what Their eyes could see, They had perceived nothing.
So They had no clue what sort of deal the two had struck on that island.
Only now, hearing this, did Alka realize he hadn’t actually explained it to Them.
He then began to tell Them about his earlier conversation with the God of Rebirth.
When he finished,
Pororo’s expression turned a bit odd.
"So... he still counts as a good god?"
From Pororo’s point of view, this God of Rebirth had upheld fairness—especially the fairness he showed in battle—which Pororo admired immensely.
Hearing that, Alka smiled and shook his head.
"Don’t imagine him as some paragon. It’s just that his pride makes him disdain any extra tricks.
And the reason he’s being so generous is because everything he took from the world would only weigh him down."
"How do you mean?" Jason asked. He had only just finished listening to Alka’s explanation and hadn’t had time to think it through.
