Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer
Chapter 1336 - 527: Eradication (Part 2)
This was a chamber.
Overhead hung densely packed pipes, and you could see liquid flowing through them like blood.
In the center stood a gigantic heart-like thing, seven or eight meters tall, throbbing nonstop. The whole heart was bright red, endlessly swelling and contracting.
"You damned heretic scum, how dare you disturb our rebirth."
The one speaking was a humanoid creature.
It looked like a mannequin, a smooth head with no hair, no pores, not even facial features.
The skin on its face was exactly the same as on its body, a layer of pallid flesh.
Calling it skin was generous; it was more like a thin film smeared with ashen pigment.
The whole figure stood there in a strange robe.
"Our rebirth shall—"
It didn’t finish the sentence.
A silver beam of light slammed down right beside it.
The impact from the violent force was unbelievably strong; in an instant, the talking humanoid in front of them was blasted into a mist of blood.
The power didn’t diminish, punched straight through, and drove in a line directly into the heart.
Then a round hole appeared in the center of that massive heart. A torrent of blood spewed out like a fountain, spraying all around, dyeing the entire chamber blood-red, blood slurry flowing endlessly.
The one who’d struck with that silver force was Chadite.
"Talks too damn much."
He glanced at what was basically now just minced meat.
Alka looked at the two beside him and could only shrug helplessly.
"Get ready to head out."
A Mirror appeared under their feet. The instant Alka stepped into it, he tossed something out, and then They were immediately teleported away.
What he’d thrown out was a lump of Chaos Elemental Energy, forcibly bound together by Alka using space and Mirror power.
Once Alka’s control was gone, the compressed Chaos Energy instantly erupted.
The overactive Elemental Energy slammed into itself.
"Boom!"
By then Alka and the others had already appeared outside the Flesh.
They’d appeared beside the ritual site.
As soon as They came out, They looked back over Their shoulders.
The area where the heart had been pounding exploded, sending out a massive shock.
Then, like a fountain of pure Energy, it blasted upward into the sky.
Elemental Energy of all colors burst in the sky like fireworks, tinged with blood, shockingly beautiful to look at.
All the monsters seemed to lose control at once, collapsing to their knees and no longer moving.
These flesh puppets were beings completely without souls, not even on the level of normal animals.
Because beyond lacking souls, they didn’t even possess instinct; they were like marionettes, moving entirely through the Flesh Nest’s linkage.
And that huge Flesh Nest like a mountain of meat began to shrivel, its body drying out as though deprived of nourishment.
It lost moisture, lost nutrients, lost the essence of flesh and blood.
The Flesh shrank, darkened, and withered, until the pitch-black mass finally turned to ash.
The whole process took barely over ten minutes.
Destruction played out in plain sight.
They watched as the grotesque Flesh that had taken up half the Island turned, in mere minutes, into clotted, blackened ash.
"Is it over just like that?" a scholar of the Holy Machine Church murmured as he stared at the scene.
Alka walked past and patted his shoulder.
"Not yet, friend. There’s still a big one over there."
...
On the battlefield of flesh-ash, after everyone finished the cleanup, They ended up with two pieces of Holy Grail Level Treasure.
From Alka’s observation, one of them should be what was left behind by the presence that had mainly been in charge of this Island—the one Chadite had smashed into pulp with a single punch back when it was still inside that flesh body. As for the other Holy Grail Level Treasure, its origin was unknown.
Alka casually picked one up and handed the other to Anres.
They were essentially spoils of war.
By now, Holy Grail Level Treasure didn’t matter that much to Them.
Then They returned to the ship, while the Holy Machine Church’s scouting squad would remain here to deal with what followed.
Alka and the others had already gotten the intel They wanted; it was time to return to the waters near White Man Island and start the real work.
After a short time sailing.
Alka and the others took the chance to rest on the ship and organize this operation.
Soon They once again brought the vessel alongside that gigantic steel warship.
"I’ve already heard what you did on Black Steel Island. My thanks to you." Safleff clasped Alka’s hand and shook it, unable to hide the excitement on his face.
The Flesh of one whole Island had been eradicated, which meant many questions now had answers. Even if White Man Island wouldn’t be as easy to deal with as Heigao Island, at least They now understood the core of the problem; everything after that would be much more manageable.
Then Everyone gathered once more in the steel warship’s conference room.
"I know what your process on Black Ridge Island was like. Can you replicate that process on White Man Island?"
Hearing Safleff’s question, Alka nodded.
"Reproduction is definitely possible. But just looking at the situation on White Man Island, you can tell it won’t be that easy to resolve.
The price in power will have to be several times what we spent on Black Steel Island."
After all, on White Man Island the Flesh basically encompassed the entire Island.
Not to mention this was Landmark Island; the population and land area on it were gods knew how many times that of Black Steel Island.
