Trash of the Count's Family
Book 2: Chapter 425: Confront and Defend (12)
<Confront and Defend (12)>
The Witch of the Jungle.
She was somewhat different from the Dark Elves Cale had met until now.
Ssss–
The branches with shaking leaves moved like vines to wrap around her.
They were moving endlessly like living snakes.
‘Leaves.’
Her hair was a beautiful black color like the night sky, but unlike other Dark Elves, she had leaves dangling like decorations, no, growing on her.
– I can’t tell whether she is a Dark Elf or a plant.
The Super Rock was right about the Witch of the Jungle looking peculiar.‘She apparently doesn’t have a name either.’
She was just called the Witch of the Jungle.
“You’re the creator, right?”
Cale looked at her as she asked the question again.
“…….”
“…….”
Eyes as dark as the night of the new moon…
He was told that she could not see.
But she was still able to lead a race and a territory in the dangerous Devil’s Boundary.
Cale slowly started to speak.
“I am not, ma’am.”
“Hmm?”
She asked if he was the creator, so he answered honestly.
“I am not the creator.”
Cale’s voice sounded perplexed.
“Also, I am human.”
“Ho-”
The Witch of the Jungle could not hold back a gasp.
“You are human? You are also not our creator?”
She was flustered.
“Then why do I feel omnipotent power coming from you?”
“Excuse me?”
Cale also became flustered and asked back.
The Witch of the Jungle contemplated for a bit before opening her mouth.
Shhhhhhh-
The leaves shook even more as if her emotions were being filtered to them.
“There is a secret I have been hiding. A secret I have never revealed even once.”
‘Hmm?’
Cale looked confused.
His goal was to work together with the Devil’s Boundary through the Witch of the Jungle but it was more important to go to the Demon World to save Choi Jung Gun and distract the Five Colors Bloods.
That was why he was planning on leaving Alberu to take care of this place after a short greeting.
But he realized that things were flowing differently from what he had expected. It started from the moment he heard what the Witch of the Jungle had to say.
“When I was very young, from the oldest memory I still possess, I have been able to see the true nature of all things.”
Ssss–
A branch extended out instead of her finger to point at Alberu.
“The fact that this person is a user.”
The branches then extended toward the sky.
“The fact that this world is a game.”
“Mm.”
Cale realized that the Witch of the Jungle was a mutant like the Ghost of Darkness, Count Ruiphe.
“Furthermore, the fact that there are changes happening to this world right now.”
“Mm.”
He could hear Alberu gulp next to him.
“Originally, this world was a combination of numbers. It was made up of 0 and 1.”
Cale was truly shocked to hear that.
“After seeing that true nature, it was not hard for me to survive in this place. I could always see the gaps, the solutions. However, I planned on just living while fulfilling the role assigned to me in this game as long as my race and I could live a decent life.”
The Witch of the Jungle might be even more of an amazing existence than Count Ruiphe.
It meant that she could see not the Virtual Reality world but the system itself.
“But now, this world is slowly starting to look like a real world to me.”
She reached out her hand.
Ssss–
A branch wrapped around her.
“These trees are real now too.”
A smile formed on the old woman’s face.
“It means that my life is becoming real.”
An existence that was not born but created.
An existence with an established task to complete.
An existence not with a fate but with a mission.
The life she had thought of like that was now changing.
“Instead of being a created existence, I now have an opportunity to exist as my own.”
She could live a real life.
The things that the Witch of the Jungle had been imagining all by herself until now was starting to happen for real.
“How could I miss such an opportunity?”
She absolutely could not miss it.
The Witch of the Jungle wanted this world to become real.
However-
“Did you say the God of Chaos?”
She did not want this world to become a mess.
“The night when that existence appeared… I saw this world becoming even more real as well as the great power trying to infiltrate this world. That was probably the power of the God of Chaos.”
It was the reason she had sent her right hand with the scouts as well as a group of skilled warriors.
“That was when I realized that it was the power of a god.”
That great existence…
The power that seemed to rip apart the ceiling of this world to enter…
“I have been feeling an existence similar to that power since a few years ago.”
Cale flinched when he heard that.
‘Hmm?
She felt an existence similar to the power of the God of Chaos?’
His eyes clouded over.
“That existence slowly grew bigger and became stronger. It reminded me of a calm violence, a storm that has yet to arrive.”
And that storm-
“IT felt like an approaching disaster.”
The Witch of the Jungle had to feel that fear by herself.
She could not tell the others around her about the power she possessed.
She just dutifully acted as an NPC.
“I knew that I was the only one who could feel this disaster-like existence, but I could not say anything.”
The reason was simple.
“Because I was born differently. I realized that I would lose it if it was found out.”
“Ah.”
Cale could fathom what to make of the Witch of the Jungle once he heard that.
She was not a mutant.
She did not suddenly realize the changes one day like Count Ruiphe did.
The Witch of the Jungle was just a bug. Bug.
She was born as a bug.
A bug since the beginning.
“I was always careful and quiet because of the thought that it might all disappear if it was noticed or that an existence similar to me would turn hostile against me.”
The Witch of the Jungle had hidden herself very well.
She had not shared the secrets of the world even once.
She just looked around and struggled internally without being able to tell anybody that their life may not be real.
But she now realized it was time to speak up.
“That was why I was always scared but still waited. I was waiting for the creator to come to me.”
The creator would know about me and how useful I could be.
“The great power was slowly getting bigger, but the creator had not done anything against it. This should mean that the creator has not located the power or the creator herself cannot do anything about it.”
She pointed to the side.
“The day this child came to see me, I realized that the creator knew of me.”
She was pointing at Alberu Crossman.
Alberu had come to find the Witch of the Jungle after receiving the quest to become the first ever Dark Elf Emperor.
That quest was given to him by the system.
The hero quest as well.
‘Ah.’
Cale finally started to realize how things were flowing.
‘System, this punk-’
IT had also worked very hard while avoiding the eyes of the Transparent © operators.
The Witch of the Jungle looked at Cale.
“I can feel the power of the creator inside you.”
“Ah.”
Cale finally realized the answer.
The creator she was talking about was the system.
Yes, better than god or world, the best term for the system might be creator.
“You must be talking about the Red Hand.”
The Red Hand.
A punishment he could give to an existence that went against the rules.
“The creator shared some of her power with me.”
The Witch of the Jungle responded to Cale’s comments.
“Then I suppose I can consider you and the creator to be on the same side?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Cale answered shortly and leaned toward her.
“Witch of the Jungle-nim.”
The large and violent power she could feel…
“The power you have been feeling… Which direction is it in?”
She said she realized something about that power after sensing the power of the God of Chaos.
“The power you have been feeling… Where does it come from?”
The Witch of the Jungle could feel the power of a god.
There was only one god it could be.
The omnipotent god.
He was certain she was talking about that power.
Cale had no information about the location of the omnipotent god until now. Was this a clue to find the location?
The Witch of the Jungle answered.
“West.”
The branches pointed to the west.
She could feel the great power starting to grow in the west.
“The existence that had been growing stopped growing in size at some point. However, it did continue to become more violent.”
The size stopped growing but the aura inside it was getting stronger.
Considering the fact that the omnipotent god would be born soon, the Witch of the Jungle did seem to be feeling the aura of the omnipotent god.
“That violence is so scary that you can’t even fathom it.”
Pssss—
The leaves, branches, and her hand all shook.
“I waited because I wanted to inform the creator about this power. I thought that the creator would recognize my usefulness and come to find me.”
The system didn’t know the location of the omnipotent god either.
The Transparent ©, no, the Transparent Bloods and the Five Colors Bloods were hiding the location of the omnipotent god extremely tightly.
It made sense since it was the most important thing for them.
But the bug knew.
“I’m glad I came here. Witch of the Jungle-nim.”
Cale asked the Witch of the Jungle.
“That power is an existence called the omnipotent god. The moment that the omnipotent god is born, this world will no longer be the world you have lived in nor the world you will live in.”
“I see.”
The Witch of the Jungle answered calmly as if she had expected this.
“I need to head out if I wish to find out the exact location. I need to go in the direction of the existence. But I have never left the Devil’s Boundary in my life.”
Because of the chance that everything would be found out and disappear…
She didn’t say the rest but he could imagine what was coming.
“You mean to say you need a guide.”
“Yes. I also need someone who will hide me.”
Yes.
The Witch of the Jungle needed to be hidden.
The Transparent Blood operators.
They would try to delete the bug if they found it.
In some ways, it was surprising enough that the Witch of the Jungle was still alive.
No matter how much she tried to hide herself, she was at quite a high position as one of the four leaders of the Devil’s Boundary.
The operators should have been able to find a bug like her at any point.
‘But they didn’t find her.’
The answer was obvious.
Cale looked up at the sky.
“You heard all of that?”
He asked the system.
‘The system has been hiding the Witch of the Jungle.’
The system left the bug alone on purpose.
The system had also given Alberu the question in order to use this bug.
“I’m sure you know the answer.”
That system should know what the Witch of the Jungle needs.
Chhhhh-
Cale’s line of sight started to distort.
[@#%-]
He saw some characters he could not read.
The situation at the Transparent © had become quite severe.
The system had become even more cautious and stealthy to not be found out.
Of course, the system had more control than before as well.
[#$% If you use a quest to, @#%$ lead the Witch of the Jungle out #%% you can hide the bug #%#%]
It was sharing its will to Cale using more clear words.
“Okay. Then give it to me as a quest.”
Chhhhh-
The space distorted.
“Mm.”
He could feel Alberu flinch next to him.
[Hero Quest!]
That’s how it popped up for Alberu.
[Hero’s Companion Quest!]
That’s how it popped up for Cale.
But the contents were the same.
[Lead the Witch of the Jungle to the destination.]
[Deadline: Unlimited]
“Hmm?”
“Huh?”
Choi Han, Rosalyn…
The two of them received the same ‘Hero’s Companion’ Quest.
“Hmm?”
Raon tilted his round face to the side.
[Hero’s Companion Quest!]
Of course Raon got the same quest as well.
Hero Alberu Crossman.
The Hero’s companions were currently Cale, Choi Han, Rosalyn, and Raon. It was the four of them.
* * *
“Miss Rosalyn and I will take care of this place for now.”
“We’ll do our best to sneak around while avoiding the gazes of the wanderers. The Dark Elves said that they will cooperate with us.”
Alberu and Rosalyn were going to stay in the Devil’s Boundary and Cale nodded his head as he turned around.
“Let’s go.”
Eruhaben, Raon, Choi Han, and the Heavenly Demon were standing next to him.
“We will stop by the Seventh Evil before going through Aipotu to the Demon World.”
The Demon World.
He needed to go see Choi Jung Gun.
He needed to grab Choi Jung Soo along the way and see team leader Sui Khan for the first time in a long while as well.
‘But what the hell are they doing these days?
It’s not like they are on Earth 3 helping President Choi Sun Hee?
They said they were looking for information on the God of Chaos, but what the hell are they doing?’
Cale scowled and left the Devil’s Boundary to the Seventh Evil.
And there…
Flutter flutter.
Was an extremely small baby Dragon, much smaller than Raon, flapping his wings.
“Meeeeeeeeeeow!”
Hong looked at the Dragon and then spoke to Cale extremely proudly.
“Our youngest flies very skillfully now!”
On smiled with satisfaction next to him while looking at Eden Miru.
“Mm.”
Cale noticed the expression on Eden Miru’s face but pretended not to see it.
Instead, he had an unsettled look on his face as he greeted the human next to them.
“Umm, have you been well?”
Clopeh Sekka smiled brightly and opened his mouth.
“I’ve been waiting for you, Cale-nim.”
His eyes sparkled.
“You’ve written yet another legend.”
Raon urgently spoke into Cale’s mind.
– Human! Clopeh Sekka’s eyes have gone crazy!
‘I know, right?’
Cale’s heart was thumping while looking at Clopeh, who seemed to have a lot to say.
He truly was scared.
