Transmigrated into Another Apocalyptic World (BL)
Chapter 627 - 626: Seeing the mutant fish
Chapter 627: Chapter 626: Seeing the mutant fish
They didn’t have Samuel or Aldo with them, who had to repair and set up something with the communication towers, so they didn’t have to consider it in their plans.
They only chose routes that wouldn’t go through too populated areas of humans and animals because of zombies and also mutant animals. They also didn’t choose those areas where they had to cross a lot of forest because of possible attacks from a lot of conscious plants.
Because of those considerations, it took an hour for them to finalize their routes.
Of course, they had plotted their route according to the circumstances that they remembered and knew about the situation in the south, so they’re also not sure of the route that they had planned.
But Luciel didn’t care as long as they had plotted the general route that they’ll have to use.
There would always be uncertainties in plans and they couldn’t be 100 percent safe from anywhere they are anyway, so as long as they managed to avoid most risks, then it’s still okay even if they encountered some dangers because they weren’t very clear about the situation of the routes that they planned to take.
After they finished planning their routes, they also called all the kids and Jacob explained the details of the routes that they planned to take, and also let the kids memorize some of it and take a photo of the routes in case an accident happened and they’re separated from them.
Since the maps that they got were from the tourist office, there are also a lot of landmarks for tourists to recognize their way and also have a lot of marks of different tourist spots that they could visit.
So, it was easier for the kids to know the difference in the places marked on the map.
After the kids memorized some parts of the map after listening to the explanation of Jacob and Nate, they all went out to get the big mutant fish that they saw near the shore that couldn’t go back to the sea.
The kids were also interested in seeing it, so Luciel just decided that they could all go and see it together.
Luciel put the RVs in his space as they didn’t bother using them, as the roads were full of debris and it would be longer for them to clean those up compared to just walking around those debris.
Nathan and the others carried the younger kids and all of them went to see the mutant fish that they saw earlier.
While they were going down, the kids had already started commenting about the size of the mutant fish as well as other things.
"Woah, that mutant fish is really long. How long do you think it is?" Reyna asked.
"Maybe about 9 or 10 meters. It really looks very big," Bella said.
"Yeah, and it’s tuna, right? But not the largest kind of tuna," Owen said.
"Yes, it is. It’s certainly not the largest kind of tuna because that kind of tuna doesn’t exist near the seas in our country," Astrid said.
"It’s not even the largest kind of tuna, but it had already grown to such a big size. How big do you think the largest kind of tuna would be after it mutates?" Ian said.
"It would certainly be very big, maybe twice as large as the one we’re seeing," Bella said.
"We are only seeing a tuna fish right now, then how big would the larger sea creatures in the sea be, like sharks, whales, and other things?" Violet said.
"It seems that because the space in the sea is larger, they’re also evolving larger than the animals that we are seeing on land," Austin commented.
"Indeed, there should be a lot of those big sea creatures hidden under the water. But how did they even manage to just mutate and not become zombies when water is already contaminated with the zombie virus?" Astrid asked.
"We don’t know about that, so it’s just right to give them to the research center so that they could do their own thing and see if they could find out why," Bella said.
"Maybe if they manage to find out why, it could help in making a vaccine," Owen said jokingly.
"That would indeed be good if it’s true," Austin said.
While the older kids were discussing, the younger kids were also discussing things about the ocean on their own, but their discussion was simpler than what the older kids were talking about.
"Look! That fish really has a nice color!" Sophie said.
"Yes, it has blue and silver colors," Nash said.
"It’s also very big, so we can see how its color was getting lighter and lighter from its dark blue color," Lisa said.
"It’s really very big. I’m not even half the size of its head!" Ashlee said.
"Yes, we are so small. Its eyes are even bigger than our heads!" Nash said.
"Then, why don’t we see how big it is? Let’s use our hands to see how big it is! Or should we just use our heads and count how many heads will fit its eyes?" Sophie said.
"No, let’s just use our hands," Lisa said.
"Yes, let’s just use our hands. It would be hard to measure it with our heads," Ashlee also said.
The kids were happily talking about the mutant fish as if they had already forgotten the things that they had experienced last night, which is good.
As for them, the adults, they weren’t in a rush, so they just leisurely walked down to where the mutant fish was while listening to what the kids were talking about.
When they got near, they stopped and looked at the fish to see if it was really dead. Well, it’s still a tuna even though it has mutated and survived longer than normal tuna; when it’s ashore, it still died because it wasn’t back in the sea for a long time.
