Chapter 551: President Fairchild is Easy to Flirt With

  • Next Chapter

Evan Fairchild’s gaze swept over the crowd, settling on a particular spot.

Melody Monroe was stealing a glance when she suddenly realized Evan Fairchild had spotted her. She immediately started walking briskly forward.

“Melody Monroe! Melody Monroe!”

Melody Monroe waved as she continued walking forward.

A move like that was definitely a first for the day.

With so many people and so much media, everyone else was practically glued to the red carpet, milking the moment by walking as slowly as possible. After all, as long as they didn’t hold up the event, there was no time limit, and no one was there with a stopwatch to rush them along.

At this rate, Melody Monroe was practically running.

If it weren’t for the ten-centimeter stilettos on her feet, she probably could have gone even faster.

“Miss Monroe!”

Melody Monroe looked up, and a tall, imposing figure suddenly entered her vision.

He was backlit, making it seem as if he were striding toward her from a distant galaxy.

“We meet again,” Evan Fairchild said, blocking Melody Monroe’s path.

Melody Monroe stopped short. Her ankle twisted, and she lost her balance, stumbling forward.

Evan Fairchild naturally opened his arms, catching the petite woman steadily.

A flurry of camera flashes erupted around them, outshining the stars.

Melody Monroe felt like the flashes were about to blind her.

What made her even more flustered was that she was still in Evan Fairchild’s arms!

The onlookers watched this scene, their expressions a colorful mix of emotions.

‘How shameless can Melody Monroe be! Throwing herself right into President Fairchild’s arms!’

‘It was such an effective move, too. Why didn’t we think of that?’

‘Just moments ago, they’d thought Evan Fairchild was cold and aloof. Now, it seemed he was actually quite receptive—they just hadn’t used the right approach.’

“Let go of me.”

“How’s your ankle? Did you hurt it?”

“I’m fine.”

Evan Fairchild let go. The moment Melody Monroe put weight on her foot, a sharp pain shot through her ankle. She immediately looked down. ‘I must have twisted it.’

“You’re hurt?” Evan Fairchild immediately crouched down to examine it himself.

“I’m fine, I’m fine! Get up!” Unable to put weight on one foot, Melody Monroe was unsteady. Evan Fairchild took her hand and placed it on his shoulder for support.

She had no choice but to lean on his shoulder to keep her balance.

They were now the center of attention for the entire venue.

“What are you doing, taking off my shoe?” Melody Monroe cried out, feeling him tug at it.

This scene made the onlookers’ jaws drop.

‘Is this really the Evan Fairchild we know?’

‘Could he actually be… serious about Melody Monroe?’

It was a scene that shattered the hearts of countless women who admired Evan Fairchild.

“Can you walk?”

“Yes, I can. Please, let go of me. Everyone is staring.”

Evan Fairchild stood up, suddenly taking Melody Monroe’s arm. With his other hand, he smoothly wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Miss Monroe, you’ve sprained your ankle. Allow me to help you.”

Melody Monroe was left speechless.

‘When it comes to acting, Evan Fairchild is the real Best Actor.’

He supported her, and they slowly made their way forward.

Melody Monroe tried to pull away, but couldn’t break free.

‘Is he really this hung up over a little bit of gossip?’

“Doesn’t it feel like we’re getting married right now?”

Melody Monroe glanced up at him.

“Although, this is a far cry from the wedding I have in mind. A real wedding would have to be much more romantic. Wouldn’t you agree?”

“Keep your voice down, you don’t want anyone to hear.”

Evan Fairchild suddenly leaned in close to her ear. “Let’s just pretend this is our wedding rehearsal, walking down the aisle together.”

“Don’t get so close!” Melody Monroe’s face flushed, and her neck turned crimson.

“But didn’t you just ask me to get closer?”

“When did I say that?” Melody Monroe immediately retorted.
