Raymond Ford was speechless. From what Claire Ross had just said, he could tell she had really found evidence.

’So many years have passed. How could she still find evidence?!’

"Raymond Ford, I don’t think there’s any need for us to meet. It’s time you paid your debts!"

The call disconnected. Raymond Ford sat there in a daze, completely at a loss.

He quickly called Claire Ross again.

When Claire Ross saw the number, she frowned but answered anyway.

"Claire Ross, I’m sorry. Please, give me a way out, won’t you?"

"Sorry? Raymond Ford, don’t you think your apology has come a little too late?" Claire Ross retorted softly. "I always knew it was you, but I just didn’t have any proof. Raymond Ford, just how black can a person’s heart get? In all these years, have you ever felt any guilt for what you did?"

"And what gives you the right to beg for my forgiveness now? Is it because you’re scared now that I’ve found proof? If I hadn’t, would you have just denied it forever? You’ve already ruined me! Utterly and completely! Don’t I have the right to seek justice for myself and see you get the punishment you deserve?"

"How dare you call me and beg for forgiveness! If you call again, I’ll record our conversation. That will work as evidence, too!"

Raymond Ford was terrified. The call disconnected, and he didn’t dare to call back.

’It’s over. This time, he was well and truly finished!’

...

Lana Sheffield saw the news online and was so angry her stomach hurt. ’Why am I surrounded by such people? Not a single one of them is competent!’

"Madam, there’s no saving Raymond Ford now," Wayne Payne immediately stated his position. "Let him take full responsibility for this."

"In that case, terminate his contract with the company first, to prevent his personal issues from damaging the company’s reputation!"

"Understood. I’ll handle it at once."

...

Ian Monroe sat at the dining table, with Bunny lying at his feet, occasionally lifting its head to glance up at its little master.

Ever since this morning, Ian Monroe had felt that the atmosphere was a little off.

It was because Mr. Fairchild had been grinning from ear to ear ever since he woke up.

In truth, he had probably already guessed what was going on. He listlessly stirred the porridge in his bowl with a spoon, having eaten only a few mouthfuls.

After they returned from Jansburg, Auntie Walsh had moved all of his mom’s things into Mr. Fairchild’s room. His mom was always busy with Mr. Fairchild now, leaving her no time to spend with him.

"Ian Monroe, I have something to tell you."

"I’m going to take Bunny out to play."

Evan Fairchild grabbed Ian Monroe and pushed him back down onto the chair.

"You might not like what I’m about to say, but I have to say it anyway. Your mother and I are getting married."

"My mom agreed to marry you?"

Evan Fairchild was speechless.

A small smile crept onto Ian Monroe’s face. "From the look on your face, she hasn’t said yes yet."

"But it’s only a matter of time. Besides, I’ve already gotten your mother’s permission to officially announce our relationship to you. Starting today, you have to start calling me Dad."

Ian Monroe picked up Bunny from the floor and replied nonchalantly, "That’s not for you to decide."

"Why not? You’re just avoiding it."

"Anyway, as long as my mom hasn’t told me herself, I’m not calling you Dad." Ian Monroe was still putting up his last resistance.

’He didn’t want anyone to steal his mom away from him. Not even his dad!’
