Chapter 847: The Dead Can Be Redeemed Too

Without hesitation, he bought all of them.

Three thousand Train Coins turned into points of light and merged into the Light Screen.

The three options became Ye Qiyan’s possessions.

“It’s been quite a while since I got any new Train Armament. Judging by the name, this one sounds pretty imposing.”

Ye Qiyan muttered a couple of words before equipping the first option, this brand-new armament.

【Train Armament · High-Frequency Earth-Shaker Shell】

【Every 30 seconds, consumes 10 Train Coins to condense a High-Frequency Earth-Shaker Shell and attack enemies around the Train. Can store a maximum of eight shells.】

Train Armament required money.

But Ye Qiyan possessed Major Consumption Reduction, so it was basically free.

He had Eve temporarily stop attacking the monsters around them, then activated the armament.

From the spaces on both sides of the Train, two rows of mechanical devices appeared, eight in total, shaped like artillery cannons.

The cannon muzzles aimed at the ground.

A launch command button also appeared before Ye Qiyan’s eyes.

“Fire!”

He slapped the button. Eight squid-shaped warheads fell from the cannon barrels one after another, landed on the ground, and began spinning until they burrowed into the earth.

After waiting for a short while,

when the monsters chasing them across the Wasteland were about to enter within a hundred meters of the Train,

Boom!

High-frequency shockwaves surged upward from deep underground.

The power was quite impressive. At the very least, it was far stronger than the Landmines from before.

“One warhead costs 10 Train Coins. Ten cost 100, and a hundred cost 1,000. Heh, since I have Major Consumption Reduction, once I condense a hundred of them, won’t that basically count as getting them for free? I might even be making money.”

Ye Qiyan wore a smile as he praised the Major Consumption Reduction Module in his heart.

The economic Modules or items possessed by the Train Conductors probably numbered very few that were more practical and powerful than this one.

After filling the ammunition stores,

Ye Qiyan’s Train now possessed a full six pieces of Train Armament.

The strongest was definitely 【Super! Ultra! Imminent Demise Drill!】

Next should be the newest 【High-Frequency Earth-Shaker Shell】.

The one he had used the most, meanwhile, was the now somewhat outdated 【Wealth Protective Barrier】.

Of the remaining 【Boundless Machine Armament】, 【Friendly Landmines】, and 【Airspace Cleansing】, only Airspace Cleansing could occasionally produce astonishing results. However, when facing even more powerful existences, it was ultimately somewhat inadequate.

But regardless,

his Train could now be considered a formidable combat force.

“Now, the second item.”

【Train Module · Pseudo-Space Mimicry Projection】

【Each activation consumes 100 Train Coins. After activation, the Train will enter a disguised-space state and can mimic an object in its current environment whose size is no more than 20% larger or smaller than itself.】

This was easy to understand. It was simply a way to disguise the Train.

As long as it occasionally produced some miraculous effects, the money would not have been wasted.

Now,

it was time to see the final item.

It was also the most expensive of all the upgrade options this time.

“A Level 10 item only costs 1,300 Train Coins? Tsk, tsk, that’s a little too cheap, isn’t it? Could its effects be terrible?”

As he spoke, Ye Qiyan extracted the item from the Light Screen and looked toward the identification Light Screen.

At a glance, his pupils suddenly contracted.

【Light Golden Casket, Level 10】

【Category: Revival Item】

【Uses: 1/1】

【The dead cannot return to life? Nonsense!】

【A Dead Man’s Resurrection exists inside the Golden Casket. Within one day of entering any state related to 【Death】, such as 【Near Death/Death/Subject to an Unavoidable Death Curse...】, the target may be placed inside it.】

【The Dead Man’s Resurrection within the Golden Casket will revive the deceased.】

【Note: Life can have more chances.】

【Miatira: This is the Wasteland. Here, the dead can be resurrected.】

A Revival Item.

Ye Qiyan had heard of something like this before.

After the former Game Card holder, Laine, was killed by Mo Shi, he had used some kind of item to complete his resurrection. Although it had caused his Race to change, he had ultimately survived.

He had never expected to obtain a similar item among this upgrade’s options.

Ye Qiyan silently stared at the golden Light Golden Casket he had extracted, which resembled a coffin. His mood was remarkably calm.

“It has potential, but not much. In other words, it can undergo Sublimation, but it won’t reach Utmost Exertion or Level 11. But...”

A faint strand of deep blue light appeared on his fingertip.

Ye Qiyan’s Spirit was not particularly strong, since he had just performed Sublimation on the Train.

Yet he had a feeling that he should inject a little Spirit into this item.

So he did exactly that.

As that strand of deep blue light fell into the Golden Casket, its lid actually opened on its own.

A blue 【Dead Man’s Resurrection】 slowly rose from inside.

At the same time,

within the 【Void Card Repository】 that stored all the Card Sequences, one Card Sequence seemed to sense something and began to stir restlessly.

“So that’s how it is... Heh.”

Ye Qiyan smiled faintly.

He opened his palm, and a deathly pale Card Sequence appeared above it.

It was the

【Demon Card · Salvation】

The Dead Man’s Resurrection and Salvation resonated with each other.

A blue beam of light entered the back of Salvation.

Ye Qiyan could clearly sense that it was that tiny amount of Spirit from him that had constructed the thin beam of light.

When the light faded, on the back of Salvation,

a sharply contrasting black-and-white cross appeared, slowly fading away until it became impossible to distinguish its front from its back.

【Demon Card · Salvation】

【The Dead Can Be Redeemed Too】

【Uses: 1/1】

The Golden Casket slowly closed.

After releasing that beam of light, its own potential completely vanished.

However, its effect had not changed. It could still be used as a Revival Item.

The only thing that had changed was 【Salvation】.

“I didn’t expect to encounter an item capable of resonating with a Card Sequence.”

Salvation spun in Ye Qiyan’s palm.

“No. It isn’t resonance. It’s more like... a replication of a real-world authority, along with the transfer of potential...”

Ye Qiyan fell into thought.

If that was the case, he remembered that the woman, Zhu Xingshu, had once said that the Blasphemy Cards were not the only items capable of being strengthened.

After all, although the Blasphemy Cards were special, they were still a type of Card Sequence.

If they could be strengthened, there was no reason for the other Card Sequences to be unable to do the same.

It was merely that Ye Qiyan had not come into contact with them yet.

Strictly speaking, this Golden Casket did not count as an enhancement to Salvation.

However, he possessed Sublimation. By using a little Spirit, he had transferred the potential contained within the Golden Casket into Salvation, which could resonate with it.

This was the first time he had encountered something like this.

It was completely the kind of opportunity that could only be found by chance, never deliberately sought.

“Not bad luck at all.”

Ye Qiyan put away Salvation and the Golden Casket.

He had increased his Revival Items from one to two, equivalent to a 100 percent increase.

Although he still could not quite understand why an item that was both a Revival Item and had no particularly serious negative effects had been sold to him for a mere 1,300 Train Coins,

“So... was it you who did this?”

【“Ding~”】
