Chapter 1432 - 1408: Mental Shock!

"Alright, I understand."

After getting out of the car, Ren Feng walked up along the dirt slope leading up the mountain.

Agamemnon watched Ren Feng's figure disappear, still feeling a trace of worry, but he couldn't get too deeply involved; his family was in India, and if he followed Ren Feng in opposing the Brahma Sect, he wouldn't even know how he died.

"Let's go back. What happened today, no one is allowed to mention it, understand?"

"Yes."

The driver drove the Lincoln back.

Only when Ren Feng climbed the mountain did he realize this was not a barren hill; green vegetation covered the slopes, and along the way he could see some little novice monks walking through the forest with things in their arms.

In the distance, there was also a temple of Buddhism half-hidden among the trees.

Ren Feng walked into the temple; there were not many people inside, and a few monks were chanting sutras.

Although Buddhism originated in ancient India, after being passed down for so many years, the place where Buddhist culture is most flourishing should be Thailand. By contrast, in India itself, Buddhist culture was no longer so strong; temples of this scale were still relatively rare.

"Namaste."

A voice came from behind; it was a young monk with his hands pressed together, looking at him. The Indian phrase he had just spoken meant "hello."

Seeing Ren Feng turn his head, he bowed again, then gestured with his hand, speaking in Indian language, and walked toward a spot not far away.

The meaning was obvious—he wanted Ren Feng to follow.

Ren Feng's heart stirred, and he followed directly.

The monk did not lead Ren Feng deeper into the temple, but instead took him to a small courtyard behind it. It was very quiet, with the feel of a secluded meditation room hidden among flowers and trees.

The monk knocked on the door, said something, then withdrew, leaving only Ren Feng standing in front of the door.

Ren Feng looked at the wooden door, hesitated for a moment, then pushed it open and walked in.

Inside the room sat a withered old man in a kasaya. When he saw Ren Feng come in, he gestured for Ren Feng to sit.

Ren Feng sat in a kneeling posture on the cushion in front of him, calmly looking at the abbot before him.

"You have come from far away, guest. You must be very tired already, yet you still came all this way to our temple. It truly puts you to the trouble."

The monk spoke, but he used Huaxia Language.

"It's not tiring," Ren Feng said. "You're the abbot?"

"I am the abbot of this temple. You must be the friend Agamemnon mentioned, correct?"

The monk looked at Ren Feng, a hint of wisdom in his eyes.

Ren Feng's heart jolted; a subtle expression flashed across his face and was immediately caught by the other.

"It seems you are indeed. Since you have come here on my account, I imagine you wouldn't refuse if I brewed a pot of tea for you, would you?"

The monk spoke as he began to brew the tea set out on the table.

"How did you know it was me?"

"Aside from certain special circumstances, our temple seldom has anyone coming specifically to seek us out. Before you, only Agamemnon came to see me several times. Because my relationship with him is rather good, he asked me for a Passage Order, saying he was requesting it for a friend who wanted to enter the Brahma Sect and take a look around. That friend, of course, would be you, guest."

"However, right after Agamemnon came, the Brahma Sect issued a ban, forbidding Passage Orders to be passed on to outsiders. I imagine there are some special reasons behind this, not as simple as Agamemnon said."

Ren Feng looked at the abbot, not expecting him to lay things out so bluntly.

"This special reason, after much conjecture, should be related to Agamemnon's friend, that is, you. So I have been waiting; I didn't expect that today you really would come."

"And if the one who came wasn't me?" Ren Feng asked.

"That would be fine too. I would simply invite whoever came to have a cup of tea. Please, guest."

The abbot placed the brewed tea directly in front of Ren Feng and also took a cup for himself.

Ren Feng watched him take a sip, then raised his own cup to his lips, but did not drink, merely let it lightly touch his lips, doing it for show.

"You don't need to be so cautious, guest. The tea is perfectly normal," the abbot said.

"The tea itself may be normal, but if it's combined with other things, then it's no longer normal. I have no choice but to be careful." Ren Feng remained calm.

The abbot set down his cup and said, "Guest, you want a Passage Order?"

"Yes."

Seeing the other be so straightforward, Ren Feng didn't bother being coy and stated things directly.

"Then you must already know some of the situation from Agamemnon. I cannot give you this Passage Order." The monk shook his head. "I am a man of the Brahma Sect; as a Brahma, I must abide by the sect's edicts. Since a ban has been decreed, I am bound to obey it."

"I know," Ren Feng said. "I didn't come expecting you would just hand it over. You have your identity constraints; I have the demands of my mission. I must obtain this Passage Order."

"Guest, drink this cup of tea and then withdraw." The abbot shook his head. "If you try to seize it by force, you'll suffer for it. If I die, the Brahma Sect will quickly sense it. Then, you'll find it hard to even leave India."

"But I must have it. I have no other choice." Ren Feng said.

The abbot looked at the calm Ren Feng and sighed. "If that's the case, then there is no other way to resolve this. Guest, do not blame me."

As his words fell, he pressed his palms together, and in that instant, obscure Sanskrit scripture poured frenziedly from his mouth.

Those Sanskrit syllables seemed to take on substance, just like with the Celestial Dragon Ascendant back then—when he chanted, each utterance was a heavenly dragon.

In a flash, the Sanskrit turned into immense mental pressure surging toward Ren Feng, all ramming straight into his Soul Sea!

Ren Feng immediately unleashed his own Divine Sense. In an instant, his sense collided with the other's!

Boom!

The two people's Divine Sense crashed like terrifying waves in a vast sea. At the moment of impact, everything in the room was suddenly flung to the floor, as if struck by an invisible transparent shockwave; tables and the shelves around them were all knocked over with a roar.

Ren Feng let out a muffled groan, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, but cold light flashed in his eyes as he stared fixedly at the other.

Their Divine Sense kept colliding. The abbot's eyes remained closed, but the speed of his chanting was unimaginably fast; that immense spiritual assault surged like a tide.

A trace of disbelief flickered in Ren Feng's eyes. His Divine Sense had only become this terrifying under the inheritance of the Primordial Emperor; the other could not possibly have experienced such a fortuitous encounter, yet his Divine Sense was actually on par with Ren Feng's!

The Cultivation Technique of the Brahma Sect was indeed extremely strange!
