Too Late For Regrets: I Sold My Soul To The New Intern
Chapter 108: Keep Dreaming
Anais.
His face lit up and the smile returned at the sound of her voice behind him. He turned around slowly to stare at the most beautiful creature to ever exist before him.
And he was pleased with what he saw.
He turned around fully, his eyes slowly took her in. The new dress fitted her perfectly. Her hair curled around her shoulders. The sight of it stirring something resting since the last time he saw her awake.
His golden eyes returned as he observed her from head to toe in admiration. He couldn’t hold back his smile and he didn’t even want to know how she figured out the passcode of his place.
His woman was much more capable. She had proven that to him countless of times and has made quite a few escapes and surprised him in so many ways.
And not that he wanted to lock her up or anything...
He blinked.
Everything was just for her safety and well-being.
He was doing everything for her sake.
She gave him that signature I am in control look. Her eyes freezing and void of any warmth towards him. She stood before him in that confident way. The one that always excited him each time and for a moment he paused to celebrate the return of his woman.
She wondered what was making him smile so much. Her eyes wondered what she was wearing and sighed. Alve did too much in making her just look ’’comfortable and not moving about naked.’’
She has freshened up and eaten well enough to stand before him again. Her eyes returned on his and wondered briefly if he indeed loved her appearance or he was just being a creep.
Either way, that was the least of her problems now.
She had just caught him cleverly preventing her employee—his workmate from reaching her when she was very much available.
’’A doctor’s office?’’
’’What did you tell them I was suffering from?’’
’’An heart attack?’’
He said nothing but to look at her.
He couldn’t wait for the day and moment she realizes how much he adores her. He wished there was some magic in this world that would make another feel the extent of one’s love for them. It was discouraging to know there was none like that in the world. You just have to hope they understand it one day and they wouldn’t be too afraid to run from it.
He took one step toward her and paused when she moved and approached him instead.
’’And here I was not trying to feel like your captive flower.’’
He blinked, a small smile forming on his lips as she had an interesting way with words.
’’Thank you for making things much clearer to me now. In fact, I can’t wait for the day you decide to handcuff me to the bed.’’
His smile widened a bit.
’’And slowly start feeding me just flatbread and water.’’ She came close and his eyes moved slowly on her. It’s just a few hours since he saw her last and it felt like he hadn’t seen her in ages.
His gaze softened on her as he slowly reached for a strand of her hair and played with it.
She was just too adorable not to be crazy about.
Corrine tried her best to hide her discomfort when he touched her and she has made up her mind never to show how much she feared him.
No, not even a little bit.
She sighed again and continued with, ’’Why are you afraid of Berry, Lin and Stylie seeing me?’’
He said nothing.
’’Are you bothered about them finding out the truth or me leaving with them the moment I get the chance to?’’
His eyes flickered softly and found hers. It locked on her with so much heated intensity it disgusted her so much she wished she had that much strength to hit him again. He should feel lucky she didn’t bring a knife along with her this time.
’’Don’t worry. Be rest assured. Your lovely, delicate captive flower would never leave.’’
She tried not to smile and failed. She found it amusing before saying.
’’As if I can ever leave you alone in this world and in the next.’’
He blinked and listened as she said the surest thing in the world.
’’I figured,’’ she continued, ’’If someone is crazy enough to bring me back from the dead instead of burying me like any normal person would do, trying to leave that person and live freely outside of their cage is probably the most unreal thing ever.’’
’’I can’t escape. And you won’t ever give up on haunting my entire existence even beyond the grave.’’
Should we kiss her?
Hold her?
Or look at her longer?
She noticed the subtle flash of his reptilian gaze hiding underneath that beautiful gold.
’’You would never let me go and I will never truly be free.’’
She moved closer and said with a serious look.
’’So, I have decided to give you the privilege of having me around until your heart content.’’
He blinked.
’’Until your mark on my body fails and whatever sinister agreement is between you and I is fulfilled and both parties, as agreed to will be willing to go their separate ways and never bother each other again.’’
The smile slowly faded as he watched her with a silent yet cruel intensity.
She was very smart.
He had underestimated her intelligence.
There was indeed a way she could get rid of him forever.
’’And what if I made you fall in-love with me before my mark fades from your body?’’
Interesting question.
One Anais didn’t expect there would be a different answer to.
Her dark green eyes observed him and she found herself scoffing too late to hide how she truly felt by his question.
’’Keep dreaming.’’
Oh.
’’I will.’’ Then with a tender approach, he moved close enough to pull her close enough to embrace her. His hands rested at the curve of her lower waist as he gently placed his head on her shoulder, taking in her sweet scent.
’’I will never stop dreaming about you or us. I believe that you can be mine and I will be completely yours until the end of time.’’
She remained in his hold, unmoving and finding it hard to take a single breath.
Why, though?
She gasped softly when his hands wandered and tightened around her body. She found herself involuntarily almost embracing him as well. It was ridiculous!
Why do I respond so quickly to your strange methods of affection and soothing touch?
Her eyes lowered as he held her close. Making her feel loved, safe, cherished and secured all at once.
Grim never stopped smiling.
Pleased with her decision to stay.
One gloved hand settled possessively behind her head as he held her to himself.
Henry has hugged me a few times too but...
My heart is never this restless when I am with him.
Neither do I find it difficult to breathe.
Her gaze turned sharply on him.
What are you doing to me?
The demons that passed by stared at them both briefly and were in awe at the creature being held this way by one of the worst of them.
We would make her fall for us.
He smiled again and slowly let go when she nudged him to.
It was weird looking at him after she had just willingly let him hug her long enough to be considered as something she would ever feel comfortable about.
’’Whatever,’’ she shrugged, earning another smile of adoration from him.
’’Let me just see them this once and assure them that nothing bad has happened to me...yet,’’ she mumbled before stepping beside him to leave.
He took a moment and watched her leave before slowly following her from behind to confront Berry, Stylie and Lin.
