Chapter 258: The Secret Card of Rhea Kingdom
Chapter 258
The Secret Card of Rhea Kingdom
The assault by the hunters from Ares Kingdom instantly turned the tide of battle. They didn’t have just 1 or 2, but 4 4-star rank hunters, plus Ellie as a special case, making it 5 in total. These 5 hunters attacked the enemies unpredictably. No one knew which direction they would attack as they kept disappearing and reappearing at different spots, causing immense confusion and fear among their foes.
Ellie was amazed by the other hunters’ attacks. It was clear why they were highly regarded in Ares Kingdom. With just a single move, they could demoralize the enemy and boost their own side’s courage.
“We need to hurry, or we won’t even get a single silver coin!”
“Charge!!” the hunters shouted as the enemy began to retreat.
“What should we do? Our kingdom is at a severe disadvantage now. Even a one-on-one duel challenge might not be well accepted. We need to find a turning point in this battle.”
“Hmph! If it’s come to this, bring out “that one” then.”
“Hmm? Are you serious about using that one?” The high-ranking leader was utterly surprised after hearing that the commander wanted to use their secret card. Normally, the secret card shouldn’t be revealed unless absolutely necessary, but it seemed the commander thought this was such a situation.
“If we don’t use it now, we won’t be able to change the outcome. Our soldiers are too cowardly. Just a few deaths, and they scatter like rats!” The commander cursed. Initially, the soldiers seemed brave, but they soon ruined their plan.
If they didn’t bring out “that one,” this battle would be another victory for Ares Kingdom, and they hadn’t even used the Seven Night Poison group yet.
“Bring that one out. Its first target should be that Demon Frog. Having a beast that is bigger and stronger dishonor our Rhea Kingdom soldiers!” Upon hearing this, the subordinates looked at the giant Demon Frog, which was currently using its tongue to fight, with its dangerous backside. They could sense that the backside of this Demon Frog poised to kill hundreds more.
Soon, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed, “thump,” “thump.” The ground trembled. Unlike when the little Apple appeared, which could grow larger by expanding its size, and Its weight was also quite heavy. So, if someone was not prepared, they might die if got jumped on. However, its weight was still manageable by humans.
If properly prepared with good weapons and support equipment, it might be easy to counter. However...the gigantic creature in front of them was different.
Just by stepping out, this beast instilled fear in its enemies. Even high-level fighters instinctively took two steps back. It wasn’t just massive in size; the killing intent radiating from it was overwhelming that it’s hard to handle. Ellie discreetly used her powers to scan the creature and was surprised by what she found.
- Urzidar Giant Bear, Level 4 (Defective): Attributes- Intelligent beast that is developed from a level 3 beast through special means. It possesses immense strength and can shatter high rock cliffs with a single punch. Its most powerful offensive power is its head, and the most powerful attack which no beast of equal or higher level dares to face was the Charge Attack. Its body fur can resist magic attacks. If made into clothing, it provides unexpected benefits.

Ellie had encountered level 3 beasts before, but they resided on the 6th floor, and even the Setter family had to hide when facing such powerful creatures. Thus, this monstrous beast made her quite anxious.
Previously, thanks to the little Purple Mushroom’s increasing levels, she could infiltrate and decompose them if anything went wrong. However, this beast in front of her was different. Despite being labeled as "defective," its power was anything but.
"You’re here...my beloved child! Haha," the commander laughed heartily upon seeing the Urzidar Giant Bear. However, the bear didn’t share his joy. Annoyed at being summoned from its rest by these tiny humans acting so superior, it immediately showed its displeasure.
"Roar!!" With just one roar, all the surrounding beasts recoiled in fear. Rhea Kingdom soldiers fled from the giant bear in unison, while the hunters from Ares Kingdom were still in confusion.
The Urzidar Giant Bear wasn’t just about roaring or its massive size. When irritated, no one could control it. The enormous beast swiped its paw around, sending Rhea Kingdom’s beasts, which couldn’t escape in time, flying. Some were even killed. The same fate befell some Ares Kingdom hunters who were struck and thrown backward by its powerful attack.
"Roar!!" After its initial outburst, the Urzidar Giant Bear seemed to calm down considerably. It raised its head and roared triumphantly like a victor.
Ellie squinted slightly, unsure of the beast’s background. She only knew it had been a level 3 beast before undergoing a special evolution to become level 4. Even though it was incomplete, Ellie was certain this was due to the Rhea Kingdom’s methods.
Seeing that they had such techniques, she began to worry about other battles.
Perhaps...they didn’t just have this one Urzidar Giant Bear. The fact that the Rhea Kingdom dared to start this war indicated they had significant confidence in their power. If Ellie had a beast of such level, she wouldn’t worry either.
Previously, she sensed a teleportation device being used to bring it here. They probably didn’t plan to summon this big guy initially, but seeing the situation turning against them, they called the giant beast to end the battle.
From the information gathered from the 5 cities previously, the enemy used poison in the first attack to weaken the forces before launching an all-out assault. However, the previous 3 cities managed to defend in time as they all had antidotes, leading to their victory. The enemy might have thought that using poison again would result in defeat, so they prepared a backup plan.
"H-Have you calmed down? If so, I won’t bother you for long. There are only 5 enemies I need you to take care of, starting with that one over there. It possesses a giant beast, causing quite trouble for our soldiers." Seeing the Urzidar Giant Bear calmed down, the commander pointed his sword at Ellie, who was some distance away.
The Urzidar Giant Bear followed the direction of the sword with understanding. Due to its high intelligence, it understood that this was an order to kill individually. Despite its disdain for the tiny humans ordering it around, it felt excited upon seeing the peculiar and large opponent that the tiny humans couldn’t take down.
That’s because after its evolution, its foes were only other similarly evolved beasts. When they fought each other, the cruel humans would let them battle to the death. Surely, many went mad and uncontrollable, eventually killed by the humans’ ruthless methods. The Urzidar Giant Bear, being highly intelligent, understood that following these humans, though boring, ensured its survival. If any beast was dissatisfied and wished to die, they could do so. It preferred to live comfortably.
As for hunting, let it be an occasional chance to have fun, like now when it was facing a big prey!
Instinctively, it knew that the giant frog before it was not an ordinary opponent. No wonder the weak humans summoned it to fight; they clearly couldn’t handle it themselves.
The Urzidar Giant Bear roared again, but this time it didn’t rampage all over. It slowly walked forward on two legs, mimicking the humans who had trained it and showcasing its capabilities.
Unlike ordinary bear beasts that were treated like low-level beasts, the Urzidar’s steps always made a “thump,” “thump” sound. Its gaze was fixed on the Demon Frog, which returned the stare fearlessly.
"Hoom!!" Thud!!
"Aaagh!!" Anyone in its path or near its feet was mercilessly swatted aside by the Urzidar Giant Bear, even soldiers of the Rhea Kingdom. Its only directive was to deal with the enemy before it. Anyone who annoyed it was simply eliminated.
Ellie sensed that this massive beast was focused solely on her. She thought for a moment before instructing the others to handle the remaining forces.
"I’ll lure this big one away. Meanwhile, I need the high-ranking hunters to take care of their army. Also...they have poison users waited for the opportunity. I saw them disguised as high-ranking soldiers, so be cautious. It’s best if we can eliminate all their top leaders before we get overwhelmed."
Disguised as Luke, she called out to everyone. Initially, she had planned to deal with the poison users herself. Unexpectedly, the enemy had already deployed their secret card. When the association leader heard Luke’s words, he felt an urge to stop him. Luke had been helping him with his work, and he was also quite capable. With a little more training, he would definitely become a great man by leaps and bounds. Losing such talent would be a failure on his part as the association leader.
Yet, with the massive beast targeting Luke, keeping him safe would mean more sacrifices among the other hunters, not just Luke himself. He thus had no choice but to let the young man follow through with his plan.
At the same time, the other hunters recognized Luke’s sincerity. They knew he intended to sacrifice himself. They originally fought merely for money.
But seeing this young man, who dreamed of earning 10 gold coins, now offering himself up, the young man who had helped them solve numerous problems, the one they could see his strong back, symbolizing the hope to victory. Their eyes eventually began to redden as his action truly stirred their emotion!
“Are they still planning to use poison against us? The Rhea Kingdom soldiers are truly shameless. Fine! Today, I will show them what true strength is. We, the hunters of Ares Kingdom, fight with our own strength, risking our lives in battle. We use the experience of our ancestors, our own hands and feet to deal with countless beasts. Unlike the Rhea Kingdom, which hides behind the lives of others, we are not cowards. That is why...our strength is different!!”
“Ha! Who thinks we’ll lose just because they have a big beast and some poison? If so, they’re underestimating us too much.”
“Charge!! Even if we don’t make it back today, when my child hears about me, he’ll laugh proudly. Knowing that his father once fought fearlessly against cowardly soldiers will one day make him strong too!”
“We, the hunters of the Ares Kingdom, are never afraid. In the past, we scorned you not because you were weak, but because you used such cowardly tactics!!”
The hunters of Ares Kingdom seemed to go even more berserk. Instead of being cautious upon hearing that Rhea Kingdom planned to use poison, they acted as if they had received a stimulant.
“What’s all this shouting about? If you want to show them, do it like me! Come on...my Three-Centurion Arrows!!”
“Hey!!” The roar of the Ares Kingdom hunters was deafening. Even the Urzidar Giant Bear, on its way toward its target, paused to look back.
Despite its appearance, these insects still had the will to fight! Hmph! Let it deal with the cowardly cunning human fleeing first. Afterward, it would eliminate these annoying pests!
