Chapter 328: Chapter 167: 1 Million Secures 50% of the Shares
After seeing Xu Xiyue’s photo, he finally understood why Chen Mo was willing to start a company just for her.
A beauty of her caliber... who could possibly resist?
She was gorgeous enough in the photo, but seeing her in person was even more breathtaking.
He didn’t stare, though. This was President Chen’s woman, after all. He wouldn’t dare to be disrespectful.
"Xiyue, this is Jiang Huiyang. His team developed a casual puzzle game that I think has investment potential."
"You can take a look at his proposal and tell me what you think."
Chen Mo sat at the head of the large conference table and introduced Jiang Huiyang to Xu Xiyue.
"Alright."
Xu Xiyue nodded as she sat down.
"President Xu, this is my project proposal. Please, take a look."
Jiang Huiyang nervously handed the project proposal to Xu Xiyue with both hands.
He was torn—afraid she would invest, and afraid she wouldn’t.
Taking the proposal, Xu Xiyue opened it and began to read.
She read with intense focus, drawing on her extensive experience and professional expertise to assess its investment value.
’Does this project have potential? How would it achieve success after launch?’
’And how would we profit from that success?’
The conference room was silent, the only sound being the rustle of pages as she flipped through the proposal.
Soon, she finished reading. She now had a basic understanding of the project and had formed her judgment.
"I don’t believe this project has any investment value."
Xu Xiyue set down the proposal, her beautiful eyes glancing at Chen Mo in confusion before she stated her opinion directly.
’She didn’t quite understand. Could this really be the project Chen Mo said would be a success?’
’She couldn’t see any possibility of success in it.’
’There were a dime a dozen mini-games with overly simplistic gameplay like this on the market.’
’Very few of them ever turned a profit.’
’So why did Chen Mo want to invest in this project?’
At her words, Chen Mo’s faint smile didn’t waver. There was not a hint of surprise in his eyes.
He had anticipated her assessment.
If the project’s value was obvious at a glance, it would have been snapped up by another venture capital firm long ago.
It never would have made its way to them at Panshi Venture Capital.
Hearing Xu Xiyue’s blunt critique, Jiang Huiyang’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he was at a loss.
Chen Mo had thought his project had investment value and invited him to Panshi Venture Capital to discuss it in detail.
But now that he was here, President Xu was saying it had none.
’So, did his project have investment value or not?’
’He was starting to get confused himself.’
"I think we can invest in this project. You two discuss the specific details."
Chen Mo didn’t elaborate, merely stating his intention to invest.
He was the boss of this company, with 100% ownership.
Once he made a decision, no one could argue.
Rumor had it that he’d opened the company specifically for Xu Xiyue. Just because he hadn’t responded didn’t mean it was true.
Xu Xiyue was there to carry out his decisions.
His will was paramount.
"Alright. I understand."
This time, Xu Xiyue understood perfectly. She recognized Chen Mo’s determination to invest in this project.
’Since the boss has decided, all I have to do is follow orders.’
’Even if it fails, it’ll just be one more failed investment on my record.’
’I’ve failed so many times already, what’s one more?’
Besides, this was a project Chen Mo had gone out of his way to find for her.
’Perhaps there was some inside angle she wasn’t aware of.’
Hearing that Chen Mo was willing to invest in his project, Jiang Huiyang shot him a grateful look.
’Who said this company was opened for Xu Xiyue? President Chen is clearly the one in charge!’
’When President Chen makes a decision, even Xu Xiyue has to obey and carry it out.’
"What’s the development progress on your game?"
"Have you considered other approaches for the core gameplay?"
"How many people are on your team? What are the ownership stakes?"
"Have you thought about how you’ll market the game after launch?"
"Have you considered a redesign after you secure funding? Your game’s UI and icon design..."
Xu Xiyue unleashed her professional competence as an investor, hitting Jiang Huiyang with a relentless barrage of questions.
However, Jiang Huiyang had poured his heart and soul into this game; he fielded Xu Xiyue’s questions with ease.
Xu Xiyue asked, Jiang Huiyang answered.
Though Xu Xiyue’s questions were numerous, Jiang Huiyang was delighted.
It meant they were genuinely considering an investment in his project.
Unlike the previous VC firms, which had given the proposal a cursory glance and couldn’t be bothered to hear them explain their concept.
After gathering more information, Xu Xiyue started to feel the project wasn’t quite as bad as she’d first thought.
But only just.
It was slightly better than the proposal made it seem, but not by much.
"Regarding the investment amount and equity stake, are you authorized to make the decision?"
Xu Xiyue glanced at him and asked.
"They’re all downstairs. They can come up anytime."
Jiang Huiyang replied instantly.
"Then have them come up."
Chen Mo nodded and said to Jiang Huiyang.
It would be better to have everyone present to avoid any future disagreements or conflicts.
"Okay, I’ll have them come up right away."
Jiang Huiyang immediately sent a message in their group chat, telling them to come up to the 22nd floor.
While they waited, Chen Mo picked up his phone and sent Xu Xiyue a message on WeChat.
"The bigger the equity stake, the better. Aim for over 50%. It’s fine to offer more money. Don’t play by the usual rules. We can do without operational control."
