Chapter 308: Chapter 162: Wei Luyao Takes Chen Mo into the Grove

"Brother Tang, are you off for the night?"

Chen Mo sent him a WeChat message.

Now that he’d discussed it with Wei Luyao, he had to follow through.

"Not yet. I was just playing with my daughter for a bit."

Tang Tianyu replied quickly.

"How’s Xuanxuan been lately?"

Chen Mo asked about his daughter.

"So-so, I guess. Same as usual. But it’s been nice having Biscuit around to keep her company."

Tang Tianyu started chatting with Chen Mo.

After a little while, Chen Mo got down to business.

"Brother Tang, is this a good time for a call? I have something I need your help with."

Chen Mo sent the message to Tang Tianyu.

"Sure, let me go to the study."

Tang Tianyu’s reply came back fast.

A few seconds later, his call came through.

"Brother Tang, I heard your company is partnering with a video platform to shoot a workplace reality show?"

Once the call connected, Chen Mo got straight to the point.

"That’s right. The contract’s been signed, we’ve found a law firm for the shoot, the cast is mostly selected, and we’re about to start filming."

Tang Tianyu nodded and gave him a brief rundown.

"My girlfriend happens to be a fourth-year law student, from Hua Zheng, right across from your place. She’s already passed the bar exam and is currently interning at Chengli."

"She wants to be on the show. I heard it’s a co-production with your company, so I wanted to ask if you could help out, Brother Tang."

"As it happens, the supervising attorney you’ve chosen, Lawyer Zhao, is a family acquaintance. My girlfriend is interning under her right now."

Chen Mo explained Wei Luyao’s situation and what he was asking for to Tang Tianyu.

"That’s no problem at all. Send me your girlfriend’s resume, and have her send another copy to our application email. I guarantee she’ll get on the show."

"Besides, she’s already interning at Chengli and working under the supervising attorney, so that makes it even easier."

After hearing this, Tang Tianyu agreed without a second thought.

’He was wondering what kind of big favor Chen Mo was going to ask for, and it turned out to be just this?’

’Isn’t that a piece of cake?’

’There are about ten intern spots. Squeezing one person in is no trouble at all.’

"Great, I’ll send it to you now."

Chen Mo immediately forwarded Wei Luyao’s resume to Tang Tianyu.

He had asked Wei Luyao to send him a copy earlier.

"Let me see."

Tang Tianyu opened the resume Chen Mo had sent and took a look.

"The resume’s fine. We already had fourth-year interns in our preliminary selection anyway."

"And with your girlfriend’s looks, I feel like our ratings will be even higher, hahaha."

"When the time comes, we can consider a custom script for her. Market her with a ’Legally Blonde’ persona. It’ll definitely be a breakout hit."

After reading Wei Luyao’s resume, Tang Tianyu didn’t find any major flaws. Aside from her education level being a bit low, there were no other issues.

Besides, she had passed the bar exam in the first semester of her senior year. Some of the interns who applied this time were graduate students and still hadn’t passed it.

This was enough to prove she was outstanding; she was just young and hadn’t gone to grad school yet.

’Of course, the resume wasn’t the main point.’

’The moment he saw Wei Luyao’s photo, he decided he would have gotten her on the show even if Chen Mo hadn’t asked for his help.’

’It couldn’t be helped. She was just too beautiful.’

’Sure, the show was about the life of an intern in the workplace.’

’But first and foremost, it was a *show*.’

’And for a show, the most important thing is the audience’s viewing experience.’

’What could give the audience a better viewing experience than a stunning woman?’

’Besides, this beauty wasn’t just an airhead; she was a law student with professional knowledge.’

’Pair that with a "Legally Blonde" persona, and the buzz and ratings would definitely skyrocket.’

"In that case, thank you, Brother Tang."

Hearing this, Chen Mo smiled and thanked him.

’Wei Luyao’s looks spoke for themselves. If Tang Tianyu was willing to create a custom script for her, that would be even better.’

’It wasn’t something he could bring up himself, so it was perfect that the other party suggested it.’

"I should be thanking you for finding me such an outstanding intern."

"Oh, right. I think after she breaks out, she could get into social media. She’d definitely get popular. When that happens, you have to get her to sign with my company..."

Tang Tianyu also laughed and started talking to Chen Mo about Wei Luyao’s future.

"That’ll depend on what she wants. If she’s willing to do social media, I’ll definitely recommend she sign with your company."

"Brother Tang, are you free anytime soon? Let me treat you to a meal."

Instead of answering directly, Chen Mo decided to invite him to a meal.

’No matter what Tang Tianyu’s motives were, Chen Mo saw it as a favor, and he definitely had to show his gratitude.’

"Why be so formal?"

"How about this: the day after tomorrow, Saturday, I’ve made plans with some friends to go sea fishing. If you’re free, come along. I’ll bring the people from the video platform, and we can talk more about the details."

Tang Tianyu smiled as he invited him to go sea fishing on Saturday.

"Sounds good. I’ll bring a bottle of wine then."

Chen Mo naturally wouldn’t refuse and agreed with a smile.

’He figured they’d definitely be eating on the boat during the fishing trip, so wine was a must.’

’Since his dinner invitation didn’t work out, he’d bring a good bottle of wine instead.’

Coincidentally, Boss Yang had recently given him a bottle of Romanée-Conti worth 158,000.

’Even for a magnate like Tang Tianyu, this wine was definitely top-shelf.’

"Great. I have all the fishing gear here. Just bring a bottle of wine; you don’t need to worry about anything else."

"Oh, and you don’t need to bring your girlfriend."

Tang Tianyu smiled and nodded, and as if he had just thought of something, he added this in a particularly meaningful tone.

"OK."

Hearing this, Chen Mo gave a knowing smile.

’He knew exactly what Tang Tianyu meant.’

’A yacht, a trip out to sea... ’

’How could there not be women?’
