Chapter 280 - 155: Exposure, an Explosion of Gold Coins, and a Free 10 Million

Chapter 280: Chapter 155: Exposure, an Explosion of Gold Coins, and a Free 10 Million

Dean Liu’s cold gaze swept over everyone as he spoke, his tone laced with sarcasm.

"What?"

At his words, everyone turned in astonishment to look at Director Tong and Tong Xiaohua.

Disbelief was written all over their faces. ’How could anyone make such a basic mistake?’

They were all from 4+4 programs, but this was just too absurd.

"Dean, I’m sorry..."

Director Tong, his face flushed with shame, apologized to Dean Liu and the shareholders.

He never imagined his daughter could be this incompetent. His reputation was in tatters.

"And yet, our very own Dr. Xiao Yajing, daughter of Vice Director Xiao, diagnosed this male patient with a gynecological disease and even issued a report!"

Dean Liu didn’t even glance at him, just continued speaking, seething with anger.

"What?!"

"Someone managed to top that?"

"My god!"

At Dean Liu’s words, everyone was left dumbfounded, their faces masks of disbelief.

Ordering a gynecology exam for a male patient was absurd enough, but it could at least be chalked up to a basic error.

’But how do you even perform a gynecological exam on a man?’

’And then diagnose him with a gynecological disease?’

’This goes beyond mere incompetence, doesn’t it?’

’This is just pure recklessness.’

They had thought Tong Xiaohua was the limit for a 4+4.

They never expected another ’pro’ to show up. Xiao Yajing had shattered that limit.

It just goes to show, there are levels even among 4+4s.

Suddenly, the Dean’s earlier words made perfect sense.

If word of this got out, the medical center’s reputation would be utterly destroyed.

They might not be sitting in this meeting room much longer.

"Dr. Xiao Yajing... no, you don’t deserve to be a doctor."

"Xiao Yajing, don’t you think you owe everyone an explanation?"

Dean Liu turned to Xiao Yajing, who was utterly stunned. She had never expected a moment of carelessness to land her in such a massive mess.

"I..."

Xiao Yajing looked distressed, momentarily at a loss for where to even begin.

Because there were other things involved...

BANG!

"What exactly was the reason?"

Vice Director Xiao slammed his hand on the table, his face beet-red with anger as he furiously questioned Xiao Yajing.

He was a nationally renowned expert, and now, so many of his peers were watching him become a laughingstock.

He was both humiliated and enraged. He felt like his lifelong reputation had been destroyed.

"I saw the test order on the computer. A patient came in for an exam right at that moment, and I forgot to verify their identity, so I just went ahead with it."

"As a result, the report was automatically generated under the male patient’s name..."

After Xiao Yajing found out what happened, she had checked the records and figured out why she’d made such a colossal mistake.

She had been upset at the time, arguing with her boyfriend on her phone. When someone came in for an exam, she just did it without thinking.

She forgot to ask the patient’s name and failed to notice the gender listed on the order from Tong Xiaohua.

She generated the report as soon as she was done, then went right back to arguing with her boyfriend.

She hadn’t thought it would blow up like this. While Tong Xiaohua was cursing her out in her head...

...Xiao Yajing was doing the exact same thing to Tong Xiaohua.

’If Tong Xiaohua hadn’t ordered a gynecology exam for a male patient in the first place, I never would have been in this position!’

You could say the two of them, the Hidden Dragon and Phoenix Chick, were a match made in heaven.

"Absurd!"

After hearing her explanation, both Dean Liu and Vice Director Xiao slammed their hands on the table.

This was a complete failure to follow even the most basic procedures and protocols.

If they had followed even a single step of the proper procedure, such an outrageous medical incident would never have happened.

"Considering the worrying incompetence of medical personnel produced by certain training programs, and after consulting with the shareholders, we have decided..."

Dean Liu paused for a moment, his eyes scanning the room as he spoke.

He hadn’t even finished his sentence, but the other 4+4s in the room already sensed something was amiss.

’Don’t tell me that because of the outrageous screw-ups from Tong Xiaohua and Xiao Yajing, the center is going to punish all of us without distinction?’

Instantly, they all began furiously cursing the pair in their minds.

One bad apple spoils the bunch.

However, they had no idea that in the eyes of the ’proper’ doctors from the eleven-year programs outside...

...they were all bad apples.

"We have decided..."

"Not good! We have a huge problem!"

Dean Liu paused. Just as he was about to announce the decision, the meeting room doors were thrown open. Director Zhang rushed in, looking utterly panicked.

"What’s wrong?"

Seeing Director Zhang in such a state of panic, Dean Liu’s heart sank.

’Did Chen Mo go public with the story?’

"The owner of an MCN company brought his 62-year-old mother to our center for a physical, and we diagnosed her as being six weeks pregnant."

"He was suspicious of the results, so he went to Ruijin Hospital to get her re-examined. Everything came back normal."

"He posted the entire story, including both lab reports, online. Now, all the influencers signed to his company are sharing it. We’re trending..."

Director Zhang struggled to deliver the bombshell to everyone in the room.

"What?!"

"No way?"

"Who the hell was responsible?"

"We’re doomed!"

"..."

At Director Zhang’s words, the shareholders’ vision went dark, and they nearly collapsed.

They had thought that once they silenced Chen Mo, the matter would be over, handled internally at worst.

But they never imagined that Chen Mo wasn’t the only victim—that there was another ’pro’ out there.

Diagnosing a 62-year-old woman as six weeks pregnant defies the most basic biological knowledge.

’What 62-year-old can still get pregnant?’

To make matters worse, the man just had to be the owner of an MCN company with several major influencers on his roster.

With them all reposting it, it was a death sentence for the center.

Dean Liu’s body trembled, and he nearly lost his footing.

He had thought Chen Mo going public was the worst-case scenario. He never imagined there could be news even more devastating than that.
