The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness
Chapter 1309: 67. Submit Without Resistance
A dull, heavy crash shattered the silence.
Muen's vision, however, went black, and he felt the entire world spin around him.
In that instant just now, at the very moment his hand was about to touch those towering peaks, a terrifying force suddenly slammed into his body, sending him flying backward like a sandbag and crashing hard into the golden restriction.
Then, in an utterly miserable posture as though he had nearly been flattened, he slowly slid down...
"Hiss... Ow, ow, ow, ow!"
Muen's entire face nearly twisted together, and his chest hurt as though his bones had shattered. But before he even had time to examine the injury to his chest, he sprang to his feet with a kip-up and angrily shouted, "What is the meaning of this? Didn't we agree you wouldn't attack..."
Then Muen froze again.
Because Hamreign at this moment was already completely different from the Hamreign of a moment ago.
She seemed finally unable to maintain her usual aloofness and arrogance. Or perhaps Muen's hand had not actually failed to touch her just now, but instead possessed some sort of magic that had directly torn open her hard shell.
Right now, her face was flushed red, her gaze wavering, and both arms were instinctively wrapped around her chest, covering those vital places. Although the fearless shadow of a Calamity still remained, when had she ever revealed even the slightest trace of such an awkward appearance before?
"Huh?"
Muen blinked in confusion.
What happened to that heart like still water?
Why was she now so...
"Sorry."
Hamreign took a deep breath, rapidly calming her disordered breathing. "I... overreacted a little."
"Then... are we still continuing?" Muen asked. "Looking at you right now, it seems you've already lost..."
"Absolutely not."
She interrupted Muen and said coldly:
"This is simply the first time a male has touched me there, so I'm somewhat unaccustomed to it. It has nothing to do with my state of mind, nor does it have anything to do with my trial!"
As she spoke, Hamreign turned her head aside. "Continue!"
"..." Muen did not move.
"I told you to continue!"
"I refuse!"
Muen rejected her outright and sneered. "You tell me to touch you, but then you can't handle it yourself and beat me up. Do you really think that just because I've eaten my fill and washed myself nice and clean, I can be bullied however anyone pleases? I could still withstand that hit just now, but if you hit me another two or three times, even if I were made of iron, I'd fall apart!"
One had to understand that the person before him was no soft and adorable young girl throwing a tantrum.
She was a Calamity! The Dragon of Death and Doom! The strongest creature beneath the heavens!
The fact that Muen could immediately stand back up after taking one hit from her was already extremely impressive.
If he let her continue, then unless his brain had been kicked by the Love God, there was no way in hell he would do it!
"This time I'll control myself." Hamreign also seemed to realize that her position was somewhat unreasonable, and her tone softened slightly. "I absolutely won't attack you again."
"Heh. Who'd believe that?"
She said she wouldn't hit him, so that meant she really wouldn't?
In any case, he would never trust the words of a woman in a state of embarrassed anger.
That was a lesson and experience accumulated through blood and tears!
"I can guarantee it!"
"A guarantee is useless."
"I swear."
"Swearing is useless too."
"Then what exactly do you want?"
Her golden pupils suddenly brightened, and Hamreign's tone once again became unfriendly.
"I said I'm not doing it!"
This time Muen showed no fear whatsoever. He simply lay down on the floor, curled himself into a ball, and turned his head to the side:
"If I say I'm not doing it, then I'm not doing it. Either way, it's death. Why don't you just do it yourself and kill me!"
"You..."
Hamreign grew irritated, and a terrifying aura almost instantly spread outward...
But it quickly dissipated again.
Because she truly had no choice. To be honest, even she herself could not guarantee that if the trial continued, this body of hers would not move on its own again.
And how could she possibly truly use violence to force her companion?
She couldn't bear to.
"Tell me. What will it take for you to continue?" Hamreign let out a rare helpless sigh.
"What will it take..."
Muen's eyes turned, and he said, "If you want me to continue, then... you'll have to put this on."
He suddenly pulled out a pair of shackles.
They looked like an extremely ordinary pair of shackles. There was no magic flowing over them, no special decoration whatsoever, and even the material looked completely ordinary. Before Hamreign, they seemed so fragile that they were practically no different from tofu.
Yet when she actually saw the shackles, her golden pupils suddenly flashed. "This... is actually in your hands?"
"This thing has quite a history?"
Dragon Lady's reaction made Muen curious as well... That's right, these shackles were naturally the same pair he had seized from Priscilla back then. Supposedly, they were capable of sealing all Mystery.
"A history... I suppose you could say it's considerable." Hamreign's expression became somewhat complicated, as though she had remembered something.
"Then... they really can seal your power too?" Muen asked tentatively.
"They can."
Hamreign nodded without concealing anything. "These shackles were originally forged a thousand years ago to imprison Origin-Rank powerhouses. Once restrained by them, it's basically impossible to escape through one's own power. I'm no exception..."
"So they're actually this powerful."
Muen sighed with immense emotion.
Back then, Priscilla's plan, in a certain sense, had actually been completely flawless.
After all, who could have imagined that shackles even an Origin-Rank powerhouse couldn't break could be effortlessly opened by him with nothing more than a simple lockpicking technique?
Seal Mystery?
Sorry, I rely on craftsmanship.
"In that case..."
Muen stopped halfway through his sentence and closed his mouth.
He merely stared silently at Hamreign.
Waiting for her... to make her choice.
But there was no need to wait at all.
In the very next instant, Muen felt his palm suddenly grow lighter.
When he raised his head again... click.
The pitch-black shackles had already locked around those two fair, slender wrists.
"You're... not even going to think about it?" Muen asked in utter astonishment.
"You're my companion. I trust you."
Hamreign's face was slightly pale. She seemed extremely unused to the sensation of losing her power, but her tone remained every bit as firm:
"Besides, I already said it before. Since this is a trial, the purer it is, the more accurate the result will naturally be."
"I see..."
As expected of Dragon Lady.
Even after losing her power, she was still so proud, so powerful, so... beautiful. Beautiful enough to take one's breath away.
"In that case, I won't hold back, okay?"
Admiration was admiration, but the corners of Muen's lips gradually curved into a barely perceptible smile, as though some wicked scheme had succeeded.
"Come."
Hamreign nodded. "Let this trial, let this wager, prove everything."
"I hope you... don't regret it."
With that, Muen gave her a gentle push.
Hamreign, who had lost all her power, fell backward onto the large purple bed just like that.
Her fiery-red hair spread out beneath her, and her golden dragon pupils contracted in an instant... yet all of her former majesty was completely gone.
She was no longer transcendent above the mortal world.
She had fallen completely into the mundane realm.
She could only... allow the companion she trusted most to do whatever he pleased with her.
"Relax... it won't feel bad."
And Muen, of course, had already leaned forward, wantonly pressing down upon that breathtakingly beautiful body that seemed tall even compared to him.
His large hand spread open, finally closing around those two towering peaks exactly as he had wished.
