Chapter 1666: Chapter 1666: Dark Chongfei Script 18
Seeing her blinking in a daze, Xun Jing’s expression was momentarily stunned.
This gentle and harmless appearance was a stark contrast to the day they met in the abandoned temple.
This Princess is quite interesting.
Xun Jing rejected Su Yan’s request in just a few words.
Then he spoke
"Where is the Princess going after leaving the post station?"
Su Yan touched the golden hairpin on her head.
She still hadn’t returned it.
As she touched it, she spoke
"To buy flower seeds for planting."
Hearing this, Xun Jing smiled and said
"How elegant of you, Your Highness."
The entire Shangyun City was abuzz with the news of Su Yan being asked to leave the Prince Zhen Nan Mansion.
For a woman, being driven out of her future husband’s house is a disgraceful affair.
Especially for Su Yan, a national Princess, it was extremely shameful.
Under such circumstances, she still looked as if nothing had happened, going to buy flower seeds for planting.
Indeed, she’s quite unique.
For some reason, Xun Jing’s mind drifted back to the night he met Su Yan in the rain.
Clad in red, and disheveled hair.
Her eyes were distant and impatient.
She had the demeanor of someone who would kill anyone who dared to provoke her.
Looking at her now, she spoke in a gentle and harmless manner.
Xun Jing thought, this woman knows how to change faces.
Perhaps he was too absorbed in his thoughts, he didn’t realize he was staring intensely at Su Yan the whole time.
Behind him, Jin Yi
"Ahem ahem"
Coughed twice to remind him.
This Prince of ours, why is he acting so differently from usual?
Xun Jing snapped back to reality, as if nothing had happened.
He spoke
"Princess, could you bring a flower for me as well?"
Su Yan nodded
"Sure."
After saying that, Su Yan added
"Then can you return my golden hairpin?"
She asked very seriously.
Something flashed quickly in Xun Jing’s eyes, and he spoke slowly
"That depends on whether the Princess can find a flower that pleases me."
Just as he was speaking, the sound of horse hooves approached from the side.
Then, a horse neighed, raised its front hooves, and was pulled to a stop.
A man in armor dismounted.
Su Yan had seen this man before.
He was the one who escorted them back to Prince Zhen Nan Mansion from the post station that day.
He was a Deputy General, named Zhang Ke.
As she was thinking, she saw the Deputy General pause his steps after noticing Su Yan at the entrance.
He stopped and clasped his fists with both hands
"Your Highness, the Prince requests your presence."
Su Yan was puzzled
"What for?"
"I do not know, Your Highness."
Su Yan nodded
"Alright."
She responded.
Zhang Ke waited beside her.
For quite a while, Su Yan noticed he hadn’t left, and asked in confusion
"Aren’t you leaving?"
"I am waiting for Your Highness."
"Why?"
"The Prince wishes to see you."
"I will go after I finish my business."
Listening to Su Yan’s bold words, Zhang Ke frowned.
"Your Highness, it’s not just me waiting for you; the Prince is waiting too."
"I didn’t tell him to wait."
With each sentence Su Yan said, Zhang Ke’s face grew darker.
He seemed quite disapproving of Su Yan’s conduct, finding it very disrespectful.
Zhang Ke stood straight and spoke coldly
"There’s never been anyone who made a General wait in this world."
Su Yan looked at Zhang Ke
"That’s your General’s business, what’s it got to do with me?"
Xiao Tao struggled to hold back her laughter.
Her eyes looked at their Princess, sparkling brightly.
She was about to become a little fangirl.
This Deputy General Zhang Ke, when he escorted the Princess to Prince Zhen Nan Mansion that day, had this indifferent attitude, not paying them any heed.
