Chapter 1592: You Said You Wouldn’t Mind Me 9
Chapter 1592: Chapter 1592: You Said You Wouldn’t Mind Me 9
Su Yan still couldn’t figure it out in the end.
Time slipped by; it was eight o’clock.
She remembered the banquet was supposed to start at eight-thirty.
So she didn’t go home to come with her father.
She changed into the dress Su Gu had brought.
A light silver long gown, mermaid cut.
She slipped on high heels and put on light makeup.
Then walked out.
Naturally, because Su Yan had been zoning out in the room for too long.
She was a bit late.
By the time she arrived, the banquet had already begun.
Su Yan pushed the door open and walked in.
Right on cue, the mellow music swelled inside.
Couples were waltzing in the ballroom.
The scent of perfume filled every corner of the place.
She walked down the steps, looking around.
Mr. Su was talking and socializing with people nearby, bringing along his younger daughter, Su Yu.
Su Yu was good-looking.
Add to that Mr. Su’s introductions, and she quickly became the center of attention.
Su Yan walked to the side.
Planning to sit on the sofa for a bit.
She had only taken two steps when she saw Jun Yu walking toward her—no, that wasn’t right, it was Zheng Luan.
Zheng Luan was in a suit, finely tailored, noble in bearing, the white shirt collar slightly open.
Behind him, An Su and An Tong followed.
They walked toward Su Yan.
This welcome banquet was originally held for Zheng Luan, so the moment he appeared, he drew everyone’s attention.
Zheng Luan stopped in front of Su Yan.
His gaze fell on the dress she was wearing, and he spoke.
"It looks beautiful."
His throat bobbed as he offered the compliment.
Su Yan said nothing.
In that brief silence, Mr. Su had already brought his younger daughter Su Yu over.
Walking as he said,
"Mr. Zheng, I’ve heard so much about you."
As he spoke, he reached out, intending to shake Zheng Luan’s hand.
Zheng Luan’s gaze never left Su Yan.
Those watching nearby felt that this Mr. Zheng’s look at the young lady was scorching.
As if the girl was carrying his money on her, he couldn’t stop staring at her.
Only when Su Yan looked away and turned to Mr. Su.
Did Zheng Luan’s eyes finally leave her.
He spoke.
"Chairman Su, I’ve long admired you."
Business-world pleasantries.
Beside them, Su Yu’s attention had originally been on Su Yan.
She hadn’t expected Su Yan to look this good, this striking, in that dress.
Even more, she hadn’t expected Su Yan to actually know this man named Zheng Luan.
Only when she heard Zheng Luan’s voice did Su Yu lift her head with a standard polite smile, about to greet him.
Then, as her gaze landed on his face, her breath caught.
Perhaps she had simply never seen a man who could look like this.
Noble, refined.
Su Yu’s cheeks flushed faintly.
She could hear her own heart pounding fast.
She couldn’t help lifting a hand to tuck her hair behind her ear.
She spoke.
"Mr. Zheng, it’s an honor to see you here today."
Hearing this, Zheng Luan nodded.
He didn’t speak.
Then his attention shifted back to Su Yan.
He fixed his eyes on her, not caring at all that two other people were standing right there.
He leaned down slightly,
"Seeing me today, are you happy?"
When Su Yan didn’t answer, he just waited there.
He was determined to wait until she gave him one.
Watching the way the two interacted, a glint flashed in Mr. Su’s eyes.
He said,
"Xiao Yan, Mr. Zheng is talking to you."
Su Yan nodded.
"Mm."
Seeing her nod, Zheng Luan smiled.
Different from the polite smile from just now.
That tear mole of his shimmered under the lights.
Su Yan stared, a little dazed, at the way he smiled.
Then she saw him reach out his hand, one hand tucked behind his back.
"Miss Su, may I have the honor of this dance tonight?"
