Chapter 278: Chapter 178: The Child of the Dark Annihilates the Spirit of Nature

The black clouds swirled with a dense, cursed aura, identical to the black markings on Wang Ya’s palm.

‘The Black Wizard from the Natural Ring Tower, Rilis. She actually chased me all the way here.’

Wang Ya naturally recalled his encounter with her back in Celestial Wings Wizard City, and how he had seized the Black Core.

‘Looks like she’s been holding a grudge, using this subtle curse to track my location and waiting for an opportunity to strike when I was out.’

Wang Ya raised an eyebrow. The expression beneath his Black Mask showed no hint of fear.

On the contrary, ‘Now that I’ve discovered this curse, I can finally remove this hidden danger. And while I’m at it, I can eliminate the threat of Rilis for good today.’

“I told you before, you should have never left the Dark Land. There is only one consequence for doing so: death.”

The floating black clouds gradually converged. Under the influence of a powerful Particle Energy, they formed a massive, twisted face, its orifices spewing a thick, cursed black gas.

A horde of Black Souls poured out, screaming for “flesh” and “souls.” ‘Losing the Black Core must have had a huge impact on Rilis,’ Wang Ya thought. ‘The quality of these Black Souls is far weaker than the ones back in Celestial Wings Wizard City.’

‘Many of them are just the souls of Extraordinary Creatures, used to pad out her numbers for a swarm tactic.’

A cold smile touched Wang Ya’s lips. He was a completely different person now; he no longer feared any enemy at the Level 3 Wizard Apprentice level.

He was just about to make his move and test out his new abilities.

But to his surprise, Kaze Antuun acted first. An incredibly terrifying fluctuation of Particle Energy erupted from his body before Wang Ya could even move. The sheer force of his aura obliterated many of the approaching Black Souls, scattering their spirits to the wind.

The gap in their Power was simply too vast; they couldn’t even withstand his aura.

The strongest of these Black Souls were merely at the level of a Level 2 Wizard Apprentice, and there were very few of them.

Wang Ya didn’t see Luo Dan or any of the other familiar Black Souls. ‘Rilis must have destroyed them,’ he surmised.

Kaze Antuun’s outburst clearly took Rilis by surprise. The massive face made of black clouds instantly rippled, showing faint signs of dissipating.

“This is… How can this be? An Extreme Wizard Apprentice? You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Rilis began to panic. Why would an Extreme Wizard Apprentice suddenly appear here?

No, the question was, why was that unremarkable Blond Wizard an Extreme Wizard Apprentice?

Through the curse she had placed on Wang Ya Harak, she was able to roughly sense the auras of those nearby.

Based on her perception of his aura, he hadn’t seemed that powerful, which was why she had decided to strike and finish them both off here.

If their deaths could stir up some conflict between the Dark Land and the Land of Decay, all the better.

No matter how powerful a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice was, they stood no chance against an Extreme Wizard Apprentice.

Especially one with his level of Power; even in the Natural Ring Tower, few could hope to match him.

If Rilis had known an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was present, she absolutely would not have attacked.

Her plan had completely backfired. Rilis shrieked, unleashing her Particle Energy and nearly all of her Soul Power.

An endless torrent of Black Souls spewed from the orifices of the giant cloud-face, flooding toward the two wizards.

But the black face itself began to move in the opposite direction, attempting to flee.

Kaze Antuun made no grand gestures. He simply released a pulse of Particle Energy, his body shrouded in a faint, dark glow. He straightened his posture and took a single step forward, leaving the back of the Flying Griffin.

He walked on empty air, yet it was as if his feet were treading upon the Black Souls themselves.

A huge section of the dense swarm of Black Souls was instantly wiped out, revealing a wide expanse of blue sky and white clouds.

The cacophonous wails and the deathly atmosphere subsided, bringing a new clarity to the scene.

Wang Ya’s pupils contracted. ‘This technique is anything but simple. It looks like he’s barely using any Particle Energy, but in reality, an invisible, high-pressure force surrounds him—it’s generated by his Biological Force Field.’

‘An unbelievably powerful Biological Force Field. With no Elemental Particle Energy involved, he’s achieving the same effect as my Illusion Demon Domain.’

‘Everything around Kaze Antuun is under his control, within a radius of one hundred meters!!’

A deep blue, fragmented light shimmered in Wang Ya’s pupils.

‘Incredible. So this is the true Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice.’

Kaze Antuun strode through the void. With every step, swaths of Black Souls were annihilated, dissipating into nothing. A torrent of Spiritual Power surged from him, ten, even twenty times stronger than that of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

The pressure was so intense it caused a visible reaction in the fabric of the void, manifesting as an effect on reality itself. Showers of sparks materialized out of thin air, creating the illusion of a meteor shower.

SSSSZZT!

A harsh, crackling sound accompanied the eruption of sparks. Kaze Antuun was at the center of it all, and the fiery trails swirled around him as he moved.

His figure vanished.

The light in Wang Ya’s pupils shifted again; even his enhanced sight couldn’t lock onto Kaze Antuun’s figure.

The next moment, Kaze Antuun reappeared right in front of the giant black face. The expression under his Face of Residual Dreams was utterly grim; he was full of pent-up anger with no outlet.

He made a grasping motion in the air with his right hand, as if seizing the very core of the black face, and then violently *tore*.
