Chapter 276: Chapter 176: Changing Illusions, Uncovering Secrets

Licorice Camp had existed for at least a century, always maintained by the same four Extreme Wizard Apprentices, and there had never been any word of a Wizard Clan connected to them.

‘So, what was the purpose of maintaining such an establishment?’

‘To attempt a breakthrough to Official Wizard?’

That was a plausible reason, but four Extreme Wizard Apprentices seemed excessive.

Most importantly, the Black Sun Ruins contained a Separation Land.

On one side, in the Land of Mountains and Seas, lay the Wizard Influence of the Land of Decay, while on the other, in the Land of Slaughter, was Thorn Ridge… A mere four Extreme Wizard Apprentices could never hope to occupy this resource-rich territory.

And forget about them maintaining some kind of balance between the two powers.

Mutual occupation and an even split of resources—that would be true balance.

Even the Dark Land had at least twenty Extreme Wizard Apprentices.

They were in no position to maintain any so-called balance.

It would make more sense if they had an Official Wizard backing them.

There had to be some other reason.

The Dream Realm was full of wonders and oddities, but most dreams were based on real-world geography, merely allowing people to achieve what they couldn’t in waking life.

Wang Ya’s hands danced, shooting white, silky threads into the screen of light. Soon, an image of Licorice Camp gradually materialized within.

Dream Power churned as time began to flow backward, revealing a scene from the daytime.

A female figure in a Blue Wizard Robe flew out from the Circular Tower.

Wang Ya found this noteworthy; this female Wizard was not one of the four Extreme Wizard Apprentices.

‘Let’s see what secrets you’re hiding.’

The dream scene continued to rewind, and the flying female Wizard reversed her path, returning to the Circular Tower.

Soon, another figure—a young, blond Wizard—appeared in the frame and began to converse with the woman in the Blue Wizard Robe.

Wang Ya’s eyes narrowed slightly. None of the four Extreme Wizard Apprentices were blond.

‘Just as I thought. Something’s fishy!’

The incident in the Celestial Wings Wizard City Dream Realm, which had exposed his presence, had taught Wang Ya the flaws in his Dream Observation Witchcraft, so he had made significant improvements.

He had also deduced a few rules.

When observing, he absolutely could not get too close or allow his focus to be detected by the people in the dream. Doing so would trigger a reaction from the corresponding Wizard in the real world.

Wang Ya had no way of knowing the exact principle behind this phenomenon.

Extraordinary Spiritual Power held too many secrets.

Secondly, one could only see the dream’s visuals, not hear any sound. Furthermore, the observation was limited to the dream of the chosen target.

It was possible to connect to a small corner of the Dream Realm to observe things unknown to the dreamer, but doing so made it extremely easy to trigger an alert and expose oneself.

The dream target Wang Ya had chosen was a Law Enforcement Wizard from Licorice Camp.

This Wizard had a deep understanding of Licorice Camp.

The risk of exposure was minimal.

A large amount of Dream Power gradually coalesced into a black, floating eyeball. Wang Ya even deliberately fashioned it with auditory organs.

This black eyeball passed directly through the screen of light and into the scene, lurking stealthily in a corner of the room.

High-tier Witchcraft—Illusionary Thought Transformation.

This Witchcraft allowed Wang Ya’s consciousness to enter a small part of the Dream Realm. It was based on the principles of the Middle-tier Witchcraft, Dream-Shattering Kill, meaning that actions taken within the dream would have corresponding feedback in reality.

However, this feedback was limited to mental trauma and could not be fatal.

Wang Ya’s future research, based on this High-tier Witchcraft, would likely focus on that real-world feedback aspect.

If he could behead an enemy in the Dream Realm, and the enemy in the real world was also beheaded… Of course, this was merely a hypothetical concept for a new Witchcraft.

It also allowed him to create constructs of Dream Power and send them into the Dream Realm to achieve certain objectives for the Caster.

Soon, Wang Ya was listening in on their conversation.
