Chapter 253 166: Suspicion, Return, Earthquake at Headquarters

Wang Ya didn't bother checking the person's identity. The Perception Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice was incredibly keen, and it was obvious the other party was there to kill those nine Level 3 Wizard Apprentices.

Wang Ya didn't know much about the Wizards of the White Bone Inheritance Lineage, only about Chief Xugus and the second-ranked Wizard Yi Si.

As for whether this person was one of those two, or another Heritage Wizard from the White Bone Lineage, Wang Ya couldn't be sure.

The Morogao White Jade Bird observed that the person had already left.

Wang Ya ordered the remaining Extraordinary Creatures to retreat from the gorge and stay away. Harak then activated the Extraordinary Properties of the Flesh Melting Furnace and devoured them all.

He had lost roughly seventy percent of his Extraordinary Creatures, in terms of both variety and quantity.

Wang Ya gazed down at the deep gorge below. A faint mist permeated the air. The grass and trees grew normally, and the vines were lush and green. If one hadn't seen it with their own eyes, it would be impossible to imagine that the gorge's interior was piled high with mountains of corpses.

It stood to reason that the inside of the gorge would be even more dangerous.

He moved a little closer, and his pupils began to shimmer with flecks of blue light.

[Target: Unknown Gorge]

[Objective: Analyze and determine the specific reason for the migration and death of the Extraordinary Creatures.]

[Estimated Analysis Time: 2 hours.]

Wang Ya had Harak, in the form of a Flying Griffin, land in the forest below.

To be on the safe side, and to wait for the analysis results, Wang Ya prepared to stay here for two hours.

As the feeling of his feet touching solid ground registered, his expression changed in an instant.

'This strange feeling is...'

The Particle Energy in his body seemed to be triggered, drawn toward the gorge by faint, wispy tendrils of a devouring power.

Not only that, but a subtle fluctuation also stirred his Extraordinary Spiritual Power.

In a trance, Wang Ya seemed to see a scene deep within the gorge: an abyssal cave suffused with a black aura, like a Netherworld Cave. He couldn't see clearly what was inside, only endless depth and darkness.

A strange force compelled him to stare into it, to look... A sharp pain exploded on the tip of his tongue, and the metallic taste of blood cleared his head. His expression turned grim as he backed away again.

He didn't stop until the strange fluctuation vanished, finally coming to rest beside an ancient tree.

Without a doubt, something was seriously wrong with that bizarre gorge; it was the cause of the Beast Tide.

'What on earth is inside that cave, that Netherworld Cave? And where does it lead?'

'Could it really lead underground?!'

The Wizard World held too many secrets. Wang Ya felt the urge to back out.

Too many things had happened today, and most of them were outside of Wang Ya's expectations.

Whether it was the Heritage Wizard from the White Bone Lineage or this bizarre gorge with its abyssal cave, they were all beyond what Wang Ya could handle at his current level.

'Let the higher-ups handle it. I should just report this to headquarters and let them deal with it.'

Wang Ya shook his head. For him, the most important things right now were increasing his Power and completing the Infinite Dream Genome.

A grim, osseous substance permeated the area; everything in sight had turned to bone. He tapped it lightly with his finger, producing a crisp sound.

However, it was extremely hard and not easily broken.

Wang Ya had no intention of using force to break the tree leaf that had turned to bone.

He let go and surveyed the area. The effect extended for about a hundred meters.

'So this is the Power of an Extreme Wizard Apprentice? It's somewhat like a Biological Force Field, yet also like an all-out burst of Particle Energy.'

'It's fairly normal for Particle Energy with special properties to unleash such might.'

'After all, it was meticulously created by an Official Wizard.'

Using tweezers, he extracted a piece of the substance and placed it into a glass bottle.

This would be excellent material, serving as a control and a point of comparison for Wang Ya's experiments on Particle Energy property Transformation.

From a distance, he used a True Sight Ball to record everything.

[Analysis Successful: The unknown Gorge contains a special radiation wave that causes spiritual disturbances. It also forces living beings to produce a special pheromone, compelling them to enter the Gorge and proceed into the Dark Cave. This radiation wave is lethal and can annihilate all life. The longer the exposure, the greater the effect.]

[Warning: This radiation wave can affect even Official Wizards. Do not approach.]

A chill ran through Wang Ya, and his gaze upon the gorge turned exceptionally grave.

'No wonder even the Harak Phage were completely neutralized and died in there.'

'Even Official Wizards are affected. If I went in, I'm afraid I wouldn't last long before becoming just another one of the dead Extraordinary Creatures.'

'Official Wizards have a Spiritual Power Value of 50 or higher, and their power has undergone Sublimation through the blessing of the Wizard World Will.'

'Looks like I can only leave this for the higher-ups to handle. I can't solve this.'

'I just hope no monsters come crawling out of that Dark Cave, leading to some kind of underground invasion.'

'Otherwise, I'll really have a hard time explaining all this.'

'Every single Wizard Task has some kind of accident...'

...

"Junior Brother, what you've described is extremely important. I will report it to the Upper House administration and see how they decide to handle it."

"Thank you, Senior Sister Kelan."

In the Lower House's Task Management Office, Wang Ya leaned back in his chair, facing Wizard Kelan, who was busy writing a report.
