The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 251 165: The Eerie Valley, Silenced by White Bones
The Brazil Kingdom was different from the last. It was a rather luxurious kingdom; they were even planning to build a Teleportation Array in the Capital City. Rumor had it that two of the King's children had been found to possess Wizard Qualification and were now at a Wizard Camp for training and evaluation.
Upon hearing this, Wang Ya couldn't help but feel a little sentimental. He'd been in the Dark Land for so long without even realizing it. In another decade or so, a new batch of Wizard Freshmen would be recruited into the Dark Wizard Academy.
"Esteemed Master Wizard, I, Kabi, have been waiting here for you for some time."
At the entrance to the Capital City, Kabi Brazil led a retinue of nobles and the kneeling City Guard Army, welcoming Wang Ya with quite a grand display.
The king was relatively young, around middle age.
Wang Ya refused the king's invitation to a banquet and other pleasantries. He didn't have that much time to waste.
'Getting back to my Wizard Experiments is the real priority.'
Things in the Dark Land had been a bit unusual lately. More and more Wizards were returning, and an oppressive atmosphere seemed to be building.
At Wang Ya's request, Kabi Brazil wasted no time in providing the details.
"Esteemed Master Wizard, the Extraordinary Creatures are gathering in the Cloud Moon Forest. For some unknown reason, they have come out of the Cloud Moon Mountain Range, deep within the forest, and have begun attacking the surrounding human cities. With so many of them gathering, it's starting to look like a Beast Tide."
"Two of my cities have already been destroyed." Kabi Brazil clearly understood how to deal with Wizards, getting straight to the point as he spoke.
"Alright. I need a map. Show me the location of the Cloud Moon Forest."
Map in hand, Wang Ya stepped onto the back of Harak, who had transformed into a Flying Griffin. With the wind whipping around them, they shot toward their destination.
Wang Ya considered that perhaps he should learn the ways of a Flying Wizard.
The methods available to become a Flying Wizard differed depending on an Elemental Wizard's affinity.
For a Fire Element Wizard, it would likely involve using Fire Element Particle Energy to vaporize moisture, creating thrust to achieve flight.
The most common method was to craft an artifact using the wings of an Extraordinary Creature, or by harnessing its flight-capable Extraordinary Traits through various Wizardry Means.
Wang Ya still had one opportunity to have a Witchcraft Artifact custom-made by a Divine Blood Wizard. He planned to focus all his energy on breaking through to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice after completing this mission, after which he would seek out the Divine Blood Wizard to have the artifact forged.
ROAR!
Roars echoed one after another throughout the boundless Primitive Forest.
Startled birds took to the sky.
Judging by the sounds, there had to be several hundred Extraordinary Creatures.
The Flying Griffin broke through the clouds and swooped down. Standing on its back, Wang Ya gazed at the scene below.
A human city was under attack. Hordes of Extraordinary Creatures trampled the farmlands, forming a genuine Beast Tide. Although it wasn't massive in scale, it was undeniably real.
"No! I don't want to die! Somebody save us! Help!"
Wails of despair rose from the city, one after another. They were all mortals, and by the time they realized the Beast Tide had surrounded them, it was already too late to escape.
The only possible outcome was for the city to fall and its people to perish.
'How could a city and its walls, built by mere mortals, possibly stop the rampage of Extraordinary Creatures? They'll likely be reduced to rubble in the very first charge.'
A thoughtful expression crossed Wang Ya's face. 'There has to be a reason for this Beast Tide. It's impossible for so many Extraordinary Creatures to gather for no reason at all.'
'Whether carnivorous or herbivorous, they all have their own territories and keep to themselves.'
'Unless some greater power is forcing them out of their own domains.'
Wang Ya couldn't figure it out. A True Sight Ball rolled from his sleeve into his palm. He injected it with Particle Energy, and it began to record video and audio.
He used his Extraordinary Spiritual Power to make it levitate beside him, then directed Harak toward the human city.
'In any case, I just need to deal with this Beast Tide.'
'Then I'll enter the Cloud Moon Forest to investigate the cause. It would be good if I find it, but if I don't, I won't press the issue.'
'Either way, the mission should be considered complete at that point.'
Immense Particle Energy erupted from Wang Ya, followed by his even more scorching Flame Demon Domain, which spread out to block the vanguard of the Beast Tide.
The searing heat scorched the very earth, charring everything black.
The range of his Flame Demon Domain was also much greater than before.
Wang Ya's Power wasn't stagnant; it was constantly and steadily improving.
Its range had now reached about 60 meters.
When he used Combined Witchcraft to form the Illusion Demon Domain, its range would increase as well.
Wang Ya had Harak revert to its original form.
A crow-like creature dripping with a black, petroleum-like substance glided above the Beast Tide. It let out a sharp cry, and as it flapped its wings, the black liquid was rapidly secreted.
It was as if a black rain had begun to fall.
The numerous Extraordinary Creatures that Wang Ya had brought to a halt began to stir restlessly. They feared Wang Ya's presence and were also deeply unsettled by the viscous black rain.
DRIP! DROP!
There were many Extraordinary Creatures, but their overall caliber was low. Most were either Low-tier or Middle-tier Extraordinary Creatures.
Carried within the black liquid, the Harak Phage coated the scales and skin of the Extraordinary Creatures, then rapidly activated and began to move.
