The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 247 163: Traces of the Evil God, Wang Ya's New Target Mission
SSSHHH!
A wave of Particle Energy instantly swept through the area, compressing the air to its limit. A great deal of blood-mist dissipated within it, followed by two figures crossing paths. Both were shrouded in Particle Energy Shields and using some kind of Flying Witchcraft as they chased each other across the sky.
Behind them, seven or eight other Wizards followed in close pursuit. The emblems on their Wizard Robes marked them as Law Enforcement Wizards from the Dark Land's main branch.
"Snoopy, your crimes have been exposed! Surrender now and return with me to headquarters to accept your punishment from the Rule Inspection Department."
The Law Enforcement Wizard captain's tone was utterly chilling, his gaze like a wolf's, locked onto the Wizard figure who had momentarily paused.
The metallic scent of blood filled the air. The microscopic particles seemed to twist and warp, and even the clouds dissipated from the clash of their two Biological Force Fields.
The sight was astonishing. Both combatants possessed extraordinary Power, having reached the level of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.
The various members of the law enforcement squad quickly took up positions above and below, sealing off all escape routes.
Their auras of Power were also formidable; some had reached the Power of a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice, while others were Level 2 Wizard Apprentices.
"We're already at this point. What else is there to say?" Snoopy's aged face held a trace of sorrow. He had once sacrificed so much for the Dark Land and accumulated so many merits, only for it to end like this.
"I've done nothing wrong! Everything I did was for the Dark Land."
"No. You did it for yourself and for your descendants. You've become obsessed," the Law Enforcement Wizard captain said coldly.
"The rules are the rules. They cannot be broken. It doesn't matter who you are—an Official Wizard or a Level 1 Wizard Apprentice—if you break them, you must be punished." The captain's expression grew more solemn, almost sublime. "This is the duty of the law enforcement squad and the fate of a Law Enforcement Wizard. We would give our lives for this principle."
Snoopy's figure seemed to hunch over even more. His sigh echoed through the air. "Is there really no room for negotiation? I just want to live. Consider it a trade—all my years of service to the Dark Land in exchange for a sliver of Vitality."
"You should know that's impossible. The rules absolutely cannot be broken. If you stop resisting and return with me to headquarters to accept the Rule Inspection Department's punishment, I will ensure you keep your life." Seeing Snoopy's state, the captain's tone softened.
BOOM!
Following the sudden explosion, Snoopy abruptly clenched his hands. A jet-black claw materialized beside each Law Enforcement Wizard and lunged downward, mimicking Snoopy's own motion.
Every Law Enforcement Wizard was a battle-hardened veteran and reacted instantly. Their Particle Energy Shields weren't even touched.
The captain, however, paid it no mind. An imposing aura erupted from him, directly tearing the black claw to shreds as he shot after the fleeing Snoopy.
Soon, they arrived over a Mortal Kingdom. Below them were vast wheat fields, the fiefs of Mortal Nobility, and the kingdom's Capital City and other urban centers.
The Wizards flew high across the heavens, appearing like tiny specks to anyone watching from below.
Snoopy considered entering the Mortal Kingdom, but he quickly dismissed the idea. It would be completely useless.
The terror of the Law Enforcement Wizards was far beyond what such petty tricks could handle.
Especially since these were Law Enforcement Wizards from the main branch.
In fact, this escape was almost certainly doomed to fail. Snoopy was merely making an attempt.
Besides, if he was caught, death was inevitable anyway.
Surrendering was no different from dying, and his Wizard Path would be cut short regardless.
'I have nothing left to fear, nothing left to lose.'
A ruthless glint appeared in Snoopy's eyes. 'In that case, I'll just defeat this Law Enforcement Wizard right here, right now.'
The two of them erupted into a fierce battle. The fight was so intense that the other Law Enforcement Wizards who caught up couldn't intervene; only the other Level 3 Wizard Apprentices could offer occasional support.
The kingdom below was named the Futu Kingdom.
The young Wang Ya, Tucson Futu, stood on the balcony of his Royal Palace. Bright sunlight shone upon the land, but he wasn't looking out over his vast territory. Instead, he was staring up at the vast, empty expanse of the sky.
To the naked eye, there were only swirling clouds and the endless blue sky, yet he seemed to see something more.
Seven or eight minuscule, moving specks.
'Why would Wizards come to the Futu Kingdom? What on earth is happening?' Tucson Futu's expression was grim, but he kept his composure. He was confident he hadn't exposed anything.
The entire kingdom was peaceful and stable, with no Extraordinary incidents having occurred.
A sharp voice, like the yapping of a dog, echoed in his mind, and understanding dawned on him.
He subconsciously murmured, "So it's a fight between Wizards. A case of dog-eat-dog."
An idea struck him, and he mentally asked the great being he worshipped, 'My god, should I act and capture all these Wizards? If we have Wizards for food, you won't need to wait so long. You can recover from your injuries directly.'
The sharp, yapping voice rang out once more.
"I understand. We'll watch and wait. There's no need to be hasty. Rest assured, I know my limits. I won't expose us."
Under the sunlight, Tucson Futu's skin was extremely pale—so white it was almost unnatural. His veins were visible beneath his translucent skin in the bright light.
