The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth
Chapter 175 128: One Month Later, Kaze's Scheme
Illusory Dream Tower, the space on the Third Layer.
A fluctuation from the Witch Array enveloped Wang Ya, teleporting him from inside the Ancient Castle to the Witchcraft Testing Ground.
He finally understood the essence of a Dream Wizard and how they contended with other Wizard Systems.
Dream Power is born from the combination of Spiritual Power and a Wizard's own consciousness, which then absorbs power from the Dream World.
After activating their Dream Perspective and Dream Sense, a Dream Wizard can see gaps into the Dream World, which exists independently of reality and tends to manifest in places with abundant life.
All living things dream. Wherever dreams are plentiful, a corner of the Dream World naturally emerges, exerting a greater influence.
Dream Wizards can use special methods to see the dreams of others, and even travel inside them.
They can also borrow the power of the Dream World to gain an endless supply of Dream Power. In places where Wizards gather, the Dream World is even more potent, and consequently, Dream Wizards become unprecedentedly powerful.
By then using Particle Energy as a medium, they can influence reality, forming the unique Reality Distortion Witchcraft, also known as Dream Witchcraft.
Alternatively, they can attack an enemy on the level of spirit and consciousness... This is somewhat similar to how Wang Ya used his Biological Force Field to forcibly sever the feedback between an opponent's Biological Field and the Natural Magnetic Field, thereby causing sensory distortion.
Ultimately, however, they are different. Dream Witchcraft can truly twist an opponent's consciousness or forcibly warp their very perceptions.
Even if this only lasts for an instant, it can play a decisive role in battle.
If this were combined with Wang Ya's own Elemental Witchcraft, the result would be terrifying. On top of his absolute offensive capabilities, he would also possess the auxiliary ability to interfere with and influence his enemies.
No one would ever expect a pure Elemental Wizard to employ the uncanny methods of a Dream Wizard.
Of course, it would depend on which Wizard Path the Dream Wizard followed.
The general process is to develop one's own Dream Realm using Extraordinary Spiritual Power and self-awareness, then to take root in the Dream World, absorb an endless supply of the Power of Dreams, and increase one's own Dream Power.
Once they reach a certain level of strength, they can spiritually influence and distort reality. With enough Dream Power and sufficient Spiritual Power, wiping out an entire human city with a snap of the fingers would not be an issue.
'However,' Wang Ya thought, 'even the Illusory Dream Wizard probably can't achieve that level.'
A figure in a black Wizard Robe materialized in the testing plaza. Wang Ya reached out and manipulated the holographic screen projected in the air before him.
Soon, a hidden door in the floor opened, and a rather unique Witchcraft testing dummy rose to its feet.
Wang Ya intended to test the fundamental Extraordinary Knowledge of Dream Wizards he had learned over the past month, as well as the two Low-tier Dream Witchcraft spells he had modified and created based on it.
This particular dummy was covered in colorful, childlike graffiti. It was not made of metal but had a wooden frame, onto which were pasted various blank white scrolls.
A smile appeared on its face, but when Wang Ya looked at it, the smile twisted into a weeping grimace. It was incredibly eerie.
Had a Dream Wizard been present, they would have keenly sensed that the entire environment of the Witchcraft Testing Ground had changed. An endless stream of the Power of Dreams was flowing from all directions, even from the gaps within space itself, completely enveloping and influencing the area.
In other words, a corner of a Dream Gap had descended upon the area.
Wang Ya's pupils shone with a faint, pearly white light, and his entire body was suffused with the same weak luster.
[Eye of Dreams] [Heart of Dreams]
Everything in his perspective warped into a mess of distorted, colorful graffiti and swirling lines. They drifted toward him, their movements eerily similar to some unknown, grotesque creature sucking at its food.
Wang Ya's expression was serene. He now had complete confidence in his ability to handle these floating, instinctual dream-distortions, a fundamental skill that every Dream Wizard was required to master.
That skill was to use one's Dream Power and Spiritual Power to seize control of this Dream Gap, turning it into his own personal battlefield.
The Illusory Dream Wizard's own domain had been formed by excavating and developing his Dream Realm, consciousness, and Spiritual Power, thereby carving out a small corresponding territory within the Dream World.
Within the bounds of that domain, everything was an extension of his power.
A vast, silvery-white radiance spread out from beneath Wang Ya's feet, expanding in all directions and forming a unique resonant wave... It was as if time had stood still. All the flowing lines of color were completely engulfed by this silvery-white brilliance, leaving only the pervasive silver hue.
The Illusory Dream Wizard's motif was yellow and maple leaves. Wang Ya's, then, was silvery-white and... he had not yet decided what medium to use to influence reality.
At this moment, everything on the field became an extension of Wang Ya's will, subject to his control.
His Spiritual Power coalesced into a silvery-white sword that slashed toward the testing dummy.
The Dream Sword was as sharp as ever, effortlessly lopping off the testing dummy's head.
By absorbing the Power of Dreams, the testing dummy flickered with a strange distortion, and its severed head grew back.
Wang Ya's expression remained unchanged; these three Dream Witchcraft spells were the basics the Illusory Dream Wizard had taught him.
But he also had a Dream Witchcraft spell that he had developed himself.
A slender, fair hand emerged from beneath his robe and slammed down onto the floor. As if infused with some special energy, the ground abruptly bulged upward, then surged outward in all directions like a ripple on the surface of water.
The floor tiles buckled and shattered. In the face of this shockwave, all the bizarre, twisting lines scattered and vanished, revealing the physical world beneath.
