The Wizard Has A Biochip

Chapter 194: Slaughtering a tribe of Chameleon-Demi-humans

  • Next Chapter

After walking for quite some time through the depths of the Subterranean Cave, a dark blue light crossed my eyes.

I was sitting on the Giant Shark King, with the Hunter Knight motionless in front of me. The tunnel around us remained immersed in absolute silence.

Even so, inside my mind, the biochip did not stop issuing notifications.

[Alert.]

[Anomalies detected.]

[Multiple environmental differences identified.]

[Probability of hostile presences: increasing.]

I frowned.

I did not need to think twice.

My voice echoed softly through the cave.

— Light Shield.

A crackling sound spread through the air.

Golden particles began to appear around me.

FSSSHHHHH...

The light condensed.

Small luminous panels began slowly rotating around my body, forming a mobile protection.

The golden light illuminated part of the tunnel.

At the same time, the biochip continued working.

Small differences began to appear on my retina.

Something that no human eye could perceive.

I slowly turned my head.

To my left, an enormous stalactite hung from the ceiling.

My gaze narrowed.

With a slight tap of my foot, the Hunter Knight reacted immediately.

THUMP!

The Golem raised one of its hands.

Earth-element particles began to gather.

GRRRRMMM...

The earth condensed.

A yellow spear appeared in its hand.

The Hunter Knight turned its body and threw it with force!

WHOOOOOSH!

The spear crossed the air at high speed.

It pierced through the darkness.

I had not detected any aura.

And yet...

PUUUSSHK!

The sound of flesh being pierced echoed through the cave.

The next instant.

—UrrrrrGGgg~~~~

A shrill scream tore through the silence.

My eyes narrowed.

A figure partially fell from the darkness.

Its body was covered in small dark-green scales.

The spear had pierced through its chest and pinned it against the stalactite.

Hot blood slowly dripped from the tip of the spear.

The creature writhed.

It tried to pull its own body free.

The more it struggled, the more the wound opened.

It was a Chameleon Demi-Human.

My expression became serious.

The Hunter Knight had already raised its arm again.

A second spear appeared and was thrown again.

The spear struck the creature’s head.

Its head exploded against the stone.

SPLAAASH!

The creature remained hanging, completely motionless.

Only the blood continued falling.

Then I raised my head again.

My vision swept across the ceiling of the cave, and with every possible target, my chip outlined it with a blue aura.

The Hunter Knight moved.

Two spears appeared simultaneously, and two more figures fell from the ceiling.

Bang!

One fell heavily.

The spear had pierced through its chest.

The other had been pierced through its leg.

Both creatures were still alive.

They writhed.

They tried to stand.

The Giant Shark King slid forward.

Its gigantic body advanced like a train.

The first creature tried to flee.

Too late.

CRAAAAASH!

The Shark ran over it.

The sound that followed was similar to a watermelon being exploded.

The ground was covered with an unrecognizable mass of flesh and blood.

The second Chameleon Demi-Human did not have any better luck.

The Shark opened its mouth.

KRAAAASH!

And the creature disappeared between its teeth.

My gaze remained cold.

That was when I heard it.

A long whistle that traveled through the tunnel.

— FIIIIIIIIIIIII!

The sound crossed the darkness.

[Alert.]

[Estimated number: over one hundred.]

The sound of hundreds of bowstrings being drawn appeared, and they stopped hiding as the entire surrounding area exploded into movement.

Arrows came from all directions, but my golden Light Shield shone and easily repelled the first wave.

The tips of the arrows reflected a green light. They were obviously poisoned.

I smiled, but I did not remain where I was and soon circulated my mana, deactivating my defensive spell.

The golden plates dissolved into particles.

Then I touched the Shark’s body.

The armor of the Giant Shark King began to move.

My body sank.

In less than a second, I disappeared completely beneath the thick layer of earth covering the Shark.

And then...

TANG!

TANG!

THUNK!

TUNK!

CRACK!

Dozens of arrows struck exactly where I had been.

The green tips became lodged in the golem’s earth.

The poison slowly dripped down.

But there was no flesh.

The Hunter Knight, on the other hand, remained completely exposed.

And it seemed not to care.

An arrow partially pierced its shoulder.

None of them were capable of poisoning a Golem.

The Knight raised both arms.

WHOOOOSH! ~~

WHOOOOSH!~~

WHOOOOSH!~~

The darkness responded.

Some spears were deflected.

Others struck stalagmites.

Rocks exploded.

But some...

Found their targets.

PUUUSSHK!

— SKREEEE!

PUUUSSHK!

— HAAAAAA!

CRACK!

SPLASH!

Bodies began to fall.

The Chameleon Demi-Humans were fast.

But their bodies were fragile.

To maintain their mobility, their evolution had followed a completely different direction from that of enormous and heavily armored creatures.

Suitable for retaining heat and aiding in camouflage.

A single Earth spear, approximately the thickness of a cup, was enough to pierce through their bodies.

It did not matter where it struck.

The wound would be devastating.

However, they soon realized something else.

Their poisoned arrows were practically useless.

Against flesh, the poison was deadly.

Against a Golem...

It was merely an expensive liquid.

With no other choice, the Chameleon Demi-Humans abandoned their bows.

Small black daggers were drawn from their waists.

And then they came running along the walls, moving like shadows.

The daggers began attacking.

Zap!

Zap!

Zap! Zap!

Zap!

Small pieces of earth were torn from the Shark’s armor.

For a few seconds, the strategy seemed to work.

Small cracks appeared.

Then the Giant Shark King began to glow.

A ring of yellow light expanded.

The earth began to move.

The cracks closed.

The Chameleon Demi-Humans remained motionless for a moment.

The Giant Shark King opened its mouth.

Elemental energy accumulated.

The ground began to tremble.

Stone spikes emerged and impaled whoever was on the ground.

SHK!

SHK!

SHK-SHK-SHK-SHK!

The Shark continued advancing.

It was like a gigantic armored tank plowing through a group of warriors who possessed only sticks as weapons.

Meanwhile, every time the Shark released the Spike Field...

About 8 enemies died.

The difference between our levels of strength was simply too great.

And, gradually, the group began to realize this.

The dead were piling up, and then the same whistling sound from before emerged.

— FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Then the Chameleon Demi-Humans began to retreat.

They leaped onto the walls.

Disappeared among the stalagmites.

And, little by little...

Silence returned.

The Giant Shark King stopped.

The earth covering its armor began to move.

I emerged.

Returned to the surface of the armor.

My gaze swept across the battlefield.

There were mutilated and exploded bodies everywhere.

Some wounded ones were still crawling away.

I thought about pursuing them, but soon discarded the idea.

That species possessed a strong territorial instinct.

I had probably gotten too close to some important region, which was why they had attacked.

Besides... I had not come there to exterminate a colony.

I had a clear objective.

The Giant Shark King began moving again.

But, shortly afterward...

— SKREEEEEEEE!

— HRAAAAAAA!

CLANG!

CLACK!

PUUUSSHK!

I frowned.

The sounds were coming from the direction where the Chameleon Demi-Humans had disappeared.

A new battle had begun.

Someone was fighting them. Or... someone was hunting the survivors.

But since it was not my problem, I ignored it and continued my journey.

POV Leader of the Satyrs of the Subterranean World.

Hidden among the shadows, the old leader of the Satyrs watched.

His thin, gray face covered in fur displayed an expression he could not hide.

Behind him, vigorous Satyrs ran through the cave.

To them, walls and stone pillars seemed to make no difference from the ground.

They descended upon the surviving Chameleon Demi-Humans.

Black daggers pierced throats, necks were cut, and bodies fell.

If everything had happened according to the original plan, perhaps the Satyrs would have only managed to drive that tribe of Chameleon Demi-Humans out of the region.

After that, the ruins could become the Satyrs’ territory.

But now...

The old leader could not forget the image he had just witnessed. He had clearly seen that acolyte effortlessly massacre them using a Golem. He made a signal, and several Satyrs appeared nearby.

—Go to Black Eyes, in Darkgem.

—Tell him to deliver a message to his master.

—Someone is trying to enter the ruins of the ancient city.

The figure lowered its head.

—Understood.

—Tell him that the Two-Legged Tribe failed to stop the enemy and that we also suffered heavy losses.

An unpleasant smile appeared on the old Satyr’s face.

—And tell him as well that the tribe of Chameleon Demi-Humans was completely destroyed and killed in its entirety.

The figure seemed surprised.

But it did not question him.

—Your subordinate will carry out the order.

It bowed its body and disappeared into the darkness.

POV George Gill - MC

The deeper I advanced, the greater my concern became.

Because, in that region... the metal in the earth had become increasingly abundant.

The ordinary soil was slowly disappearing.

This meant that, if I encountered a truly powerful enemy...

My escape route would be limited.

But, at the same time...

I could not help but observe the environment with another kind of interest.

It was the perfect place to build a city.

To build a city in the Subterranean World, it was not enough to possess food and water.

It was necessary to consider mineral resources, trade routes, and geological stability.

Besides, no one wanted to build a house only to discover, during their sleep, that millions of tons of stone had decided to fall on their head.
