Chapter 591 - 591: Landing on the Island

"I never expected Lightning Island to be where Mirror Lake Manor is located."

A bitter look crossed Jiang Xinghai's face. "This island isn't on any nautical charts, is it?"

"Indeed, it is not."

Tang Zhen smiled mysteriously. "Furthermore, you can't find this place without going through the national defense satellite system. That's why you and Nightingale's secret investigation came up with nothing."

Jiang Xinghai and Nightingale both laughed.

"This Lightning Island may look desolate on the surface, but it's actually fraught with peril," Tang Zhen explained to Jiang Xinghai.

"Elder Tang, let's go back. I'll endure for five more days."

Jiang Xinghai was already itching to set foot on the island. His parents were here!

But strength was everything!

According to Tang Zhen, while there weren't many Shadow Sect members at Mirror Lake Manor, all of them were Human Emperor Realm experts!

There were at least five of them!

For Jiang Xinghai to take them on alone would be a difficult task.

"Junior Brother, have you forgotten about me?" Zhong Yunman suddenly interjected. "Why don't we storm the island right now? With your Second Senior Sister by your side, our chances of success are very high."

"Second Senior Sister, if you come with me, it will be considered an official move by the War Department. It would have an incalculable impact on your career," Jiang Xinghai said, shaking his head without hesitation.

"Do you think I care about my career?" Zhong Yunman asked, her face flushed with anger.

Tang Zhen gave a wry smile from the side. "Jiang, you should listen to your Second Senior Sister. You two go together, and we'll wait here for your triumphant return. However, you should still wait until after dark to act."

Upon hearing Tang Zhen's suggestion, both Jiang Xinghai and Zhong Yunman turned to look at him.

"You two, why are you looking at me like that?" Tang Zhen shrugged.

"Elder Tang, that's not what you said a moment ago. Why did you change your mind so quickly?" Jiang Xinghai was utterly confused.

"I've given it a lot of thought, and I think you're right. We shouldn't keep tolerating their actions. It's time we let the Shadow Sect witness the rise of a Dragon Country prodigy," Tang Zhen said righteously.

In truth, he was only speaking so boldly because he had received the backing of a powerful figure in the Imperial City.

"Excellent!"

Jiang Xinghai finally broke into a grin. "Then let's eat now and wait for nightfall."

"Young Master Jiang, I'll go and prepare," Nightingale chimed in, quickly dashing into the ship's cabin.

Smiles appeared on everyone's faces.

It was 4:30 in the afternoon.

By the time they finished dinner, night would have fallen.

BRRRING!

During dinner, Jiang Xinghai's phone rang. The caller ID read: Cao Qing.

"Young Master Jiang, as you requested, I have issued a detailed clarification regarding the infants harmed and their innocent families. I've also made a formal apology on behalf of the Cao Family."

Every word from Cao Qing was filled with respect for Jiang Xinghai. "In addition, the Cao Family will donate five hundred million every year to impoverished families to show our charity to the world."

"I've already seen your public notice on all the online platforms. I trust the Prince of the East is a man of his word." Jiang Xinghai had, of course, already seen the headlines.

The Cao Family of Shanghai was, after all, one of the three great families.

And its Patriarch, the Prince of the East, Cao Qing, was an incredibly famous figure!

After the Cao Family went public with their apology, the news instantly shot to the top of every major online platform.

"I'm confident that the public will now watch and hold the Cao Family accountable. You have nothing to worry about, Young Master Jiang." Cao Qing's tone grew increasingly gentle. "Furthermore, our entire clan, from the elderly to the children, is already kneeling at the main gate."

"How old is Cao Can?" Jiang Xinghai asked.

"He just turned one." This was exactly what Cao Qing had been hoping for—that Jiang Xinghai would mention his great-grandson, Cao Can.

"In that case, since he's also ill, he doesn't have to kneel."

Jiang Xinghai was not an unmerciful man. "You don't have to kneel, either."

"Er…"

Cao Qing's expression faltered. "Young Master Jiang, this means…"

"Prince of the East, you said before that you would submit to me. Does that offer still stand?" Jiang Xinghai suddenly changed the topic.

"Of course it does! Whatever Young Master Jiang commands, I will carry it out without question," Cao Qing vowed, slapping his chest.

"In that case, I'll send you a set of coordinates shortly. You must get here within the hour and join me for a bloody rampage." Jiang Xinghai recalled that Cao Qing was also a Human Emperor Realm expert; an ally like that was too good to pass up.

"A rampage? Excellent!" The bloodlust deep in Cao Qing's bones instantly surfaced.

With that, the two ended their call.

Jiang Xinghai then sent his coordinates to Cao Qing.

"Elder Tang, I told Cao Qing our location without asking your permission. I hope I haven't made a mistake?" Jiang Xinghai asked with a slight smile, raising his wine glass.

"Ah, Jiang, you've already done it. What can this old man say now?"

Tang Zhen looked exasperated. He would have to remind Jiang Xinghai about this habit of his to Act First, Report Later. "But, no matter. The Prince of the East already knew of this location. He has the right to be here."

"I see," Jiang Xinghai said with a nod.

Afterward, the group resumed their meal.

An hour later, the sky had grown completely dark.

"Divine Doctor Jiang, my grandfather is here."

Zheng Wuji, who had been keeping a close watch on the sea, had spotted an approaching yacht.

"Then it's time for us to depart."

Jiang Xinghai's gaze shifted to Lightning Island, one nautical mile away.

With his Second Senior Sister, Zhong Yunman, and the addition of Cao Qing, the three of them would pay a visit to Mirror Lake Manor under the cover of night!

A little over ten minutes later.

Jiang Xinghai and Zhong Yunman boarded Cao Qing's yacht. Once the three of them were assembled, they headed directly for Lightning Island.

"Young Master Jiang, I've been here several times and am extremely familiar with the topography. But are you certain we should just charge in and start killing? Without any regard for the consequences?" Cao Qing asked with a grave expression.

"Prince of the East, judging by your tone, you aren't worried about the Shadow Sect members in Mirror Lake Manor, but rather the fallout. Is it that you've also despised those people for a long time?" Jiang Xinghai asked with a meaningful look.

"That's right!"

Cao Qing's expression turned icy. "Those bastards are worse than animals! I've wanted to slaughter them for a long time!"

Jiang Xinghai let out a chilling smile.

'It seems no one is fond of the Shadow Sect's members.'

Zhong Yunman, however, just smiled faintly. "Prince of the East, in that case, why don't you share the details you know? We'll be making landfall shortly."

"Publicly, the Shadow Sect has five early-stage Human Emperor Realm experts. But in truth, there's a late-stage Human Emperor Realm expert in the prison." Cao Qing's expression became exceptionally grave. "The one in the prison… let's leave him to Young Master Jiang. As for the five outside, Miss Zhong and I can handle them."

"Then let's make landfall."

Jiang Xinghai could no longer suppress his urge to set foot on Lightning Island.

The yacht pressed forward, soon disappearing into the darkness.

As they approached the shores of Lightning Island, several soldiers were standing guard.

They had already been notified by Tang Zhen and Zheng Wuji and were waiting for them.

Coupled with the appearance of the Prince of the East, Cao Qing, the soldiers were all extremely cooperative.

"Young Master Jiang, Miss Zhong, follow me."

Cao Qing led the way, and soon they spotted a manor hidden within a bamboo forest.

"This is more than just a manor; it's practically a small world of its own." Jiang Xinghai frowned. "And it seems to be protected by an Array."

"An Array?"

Cao Qing hadn't noticed. Only after inspecting it more closely did he confirm it. "You're right. This Array is suffused with killing intent. If we had blundered in just now, the consequences would have been unthinkable."

"But there was no Array when I was here before. Could it have been set up in the past few years?"

Cao Qing's brow tightened. He glanced back toward the soldiers guarding the shore. "Those are our men. Why didn't they warn us?"
