Chapter 368: Apostle’s Entrance

Since the staff was incredibly smooth; even with its intricate designs, there wasn’t much friction to slow the strike down.

Since the giant had put his entire body weight into the swing, the sudden lack of resistance made him stumble forward. He lost his balance and stumbled.

Adrian didn’t give him a single second to recover.

He effortlessly spun his staff around in his hands, hooking the thicker bottom end right behind the giant’s front ankle. Then he gave it a sharp, upward yank.

The giant’s feet went right out from under him.

He fell face-first into the dirt with a loud, heavy crash, and his massive iron hammer tumbled completely out of his grip.

Before the huge guy could even try to push himself up off the ground or grab his hammer again, Adrian casually flipped his staff over. He brought the end down right onto the back of the giant’s steel helmet.

CLANG.

The guy’s head smacked into the ground, bounced up slightly, and then fell back into the dirt before going completely stiff for a second. Then his massive arms gave out, and he went totally limp.

Adrian let out a soft breath and casually rested his staff over his shoulder.

He looked around the chaotic battlefield to find his next target, feeling pretty satisfied with how the staff handled in close quarters without relying on any magic at all.

’Welp, even though I’m a much higher rank as a knight, I guess my staff skills are pretty decent,’ Adrian thought to himself. ’Though, to test it properly, I will need to fight someone at a similar rank. But these Avarice guys are mostly F-rankers, with just a few rare E-rankers here and there.’

Just then, Adrian heard a familiar, panicked voice through the chaotic noise of the battlefield. It came through the mana thread he had told Aria to use if she saw something.

"Papa! He jumped and he’s coming right towards you!" Aria warned.

Adrian instantly snapped his head up toward the top of the Avarice fortress wall.

Right in that exact direction, he saw the white-robed Apostle flying straight toward him like a launched missile.

’A jump that high, and he’s already covering so much distance in just a few seconds...’ Adrian thought to himself as he tracked the incoming enemy. ’His acceleration is absurd. Fuck, he’s strong.’

Realizing the immediate danger, Adrian quickly turned to look around the battlefield.

He spotted Draven and Claire fighting nearby, completely slaughtering the Avarice vanguard. Sebastian was also relatively close by.

Adrian instantly extended three invisible mana strands out toward them and sent a rapid, telepathic message.

’Guys, there’s a ridiculously strong enemy coming right toward us. We might have to team up and jump him. Most of the enemy soldiers are just F-rank, with only a few rare E-rank knights here and there, so our men don’t need our help to fight the enemies anymore. I need you guys with me right now. Quick.’

Claire didn’t hesitate. She violently front-kicked the Avarice soldier she was currently fighting. The man went flying backward and crashed hard into his own squad. She immediately turned toward the direction she had received the mana thread from and started sprinting toward Adrian’s general location.

It was the exact same for Draven. There were way too many people crowding the battlefield for the Marquis to actually spot Adrian visually, but he trusted the direction of the mana thread and started bulldozing his way through the crowd.

Sebastian was the closest, and he quickly slid over to Adrian’s side.

Before Claire and Draven could fully reach Adrian, they looked up and saw the white-robed guy flying through the air on a direct collision course towards Adrian. They instantly realized where the Apostle was going to land, and both of them quicky sprinted toward the impact zone.

But the white-robed Apostle was simply much faster.

Adrian watched as the guy rapidly closed the distance. He immediately got his four chakrams ready and the moment the Apostle entered his effective range, Adrian sent all four chakrams flying directly at the man’s chest.

But just like before, an incredibly familiar, annoying feeling washed over Adrian.

The moment his steel chakrams got close to the Apostle’s body, the telekinetic connection simply snapped. He completely lost control of his weapons, and the four steel rings just clattered uselesslyointo the griund below.

Instead of getting scared, Adrian actually smirked.

This specific trick gave him a massive sense of deja vu. The exact same thing had happened when he fought those two arrogant High Elves back in Draven’s territory. They had using their own mana strings and used them to cut off his mana strings which allowed telekinesis in the first place, rendering his chakrams completely useless.

The Apostle had just done the exact same thing.

But this time, Adrian was fully prepared for it.

He didn’t panic. He just completely ditched the four disconnected chakrams and instantly pulled four more out of his spatial ring. He had dozens of them stored away in his ring and hundreds in his dungeon, and if he really needed to, he could just synthesize more instantly. He wasn’t afraid of losing a few of them.

He got the new chakrams spinning at incredibly high speeds around his shoulders.

But this time, he didn’t just use a standard telekinetic mana strand to control them. He infused the connecting threads with pure, crackling electricity using his Thunderburst spell.

He sent the four electrified chakrams flying straight toward the descending Apostle.

As the chakrams rapidly closed the distance and entered the exact same anti-magic range where his previous weapons had failed, Adrian watched closely.

When the spinning steel hit the invisible boundary, he saw the Apostle twitch slightly mid-air.

Adrian’s smirk widened.

The electrical current running through the mana strands actively shocked the Apostle’s disruptive aura and due to this, there was no cut in the connection this time.

The Apostle was forced to aggressively twist his body mid-air to dodge the spinning blades.
