The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2474: Nathalie Receives Another Package
"He’s your man." Amadeus Yancey smiled faintly, knowing he’d guessed right.
Nathalie Quinlan, however, took a long time before squeezing out: "Not exactly."
"Hm?"
Nathalie silently withdrew her line of sight from him: "He and Emma Gabehart are both my friends."
Hearing this "friend," Amadeus Yancey was already able to stay calm and unruffled, no longer finding it strange.
Khendy Lordon was her good friend.
Emma Gabehart was her friend.
Then the Weapons businessman who had been stirring up the power struggle in Inderia these past two days being her friend wasn’t all that surprising anymore!
"I’ve asked him out for dinner the day after tomorrow, do you want to come along?" The Girl was charging the Bluetooth earphones she’d taken from her backpack when she suddenly turned around and asked him.
Amadeus Yancey was stunned, and for once reined in that frivolous smile at the corner of his lips: "You want to take me with you?"
"Mm." The Girl said very openly: "The person who delivered the package that day was one of his people. He knows you and is quite interested in you. If you’re free the day after tomorrow, we’ll go together."
Amadeus Yancey didn’t have much interest in a Weapons businessman. Compared to Zed Moore, he hadn’t even thought about looking into this man.
But since Nathalie had taken the initiative to propose taking him along to meet a friend, Amadeus Yancey’s mood still rose uncontrollably with pleasure.
He did his best to rein in the sudden brightness in his expression, lowered his head and coughed lightly as he said: "You don’t often get to see each other, I won’t go be the third wheel."
In Nathalie’s heart, she felt he didn’t really count as a third wheel.
Amadeus Yancey went on smiling as he said: "If I’m there, there’ll be a lot you two can’t conveniently talk about, so I’d better not go. I’ll drive you over and then wait for you to come home."
This way of putting it...
Nathalie turned it over in her heart and figured Diana probably had things she wanted to say to herself, at the very least to tell her about meeting Lynn Kingsley this afternoon.
So she didn’t press him to go, just gave a soft "mm."
Seeing that she’d finished her shower and likely wouldn’t be busy with anything else, Amadeus Yancey suddenly remembered something and said to her: "Right, there’s a package for you downstairs."
"A package for me?" Nathalie looked up in surprise.
Where would a package have come from?
Seeing how surprised she looked, Amadeus Yancey’s expression also sobered; he frowned and said: "This afternoon a delivery guy brought it over, a box. I thought it was that same person as last time and signed for it for you... It wasn’t sent by David?"
Nathalie shook her head, not entirely sure: "He didn’t say anything to me."
Amadeus Yancey’s brows furrowed even tighter as he said to her: "Alfred Garland put it in the living room for you. Why don’t you go down and take a look?"
Nathalie was thinking the same thing.
They headed downstairs one after the other.
Zed Moore had indeed already left.
Only Alfred Garland and Sadam Vinson were still in the living room. Seeing her come down, Sadam Vinson took the initiative to call out: "Nathalie, there’s a package here for you."
Nathalie went down and walked over.
Sadam Vinson handed her a tightly wrapped cardboard box.
Judging by eye, the box was about 30 cm in size, a flat box whose appearance gave no clue as to what was inside.
Nathalie hefted the box in her hand to feel its weight. It wasn’t heavy, at least not anything that would immediately draw attention because of its weight.
"What’s inside?" Seeing her expression grow serious, Sadam Vinson’s interest was piqued as well. He craned his neck and leaned over curiously.
Without a word, Nathalie found a Dagger and cut open the plastic tape on the outside of the box, then opened the cardboard carton.
Inside the carton was a red velvet Gift box, with a ribbon tied into a butterfly knot on top. It looked very exquisite.
"What is this, a Gift?" Sadam Vinson was baffled.
The color and outer packaging made it look very much like some kind of Gift, but he noticed that there was actually no sender information at all on the parcel box.
