The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 2470: Only an Idiot Would Invite Others When There’s a Chance to Cozy Up Alone to a Big Shot
Nathalie Quinlan flipped through a few pages, and could basically confirm that the lab experiment Zevaney Kingsley and Regina Isadora were working on was the chemical experiment on the latter half of the notebook.
Her porcelain white hand glowed with a delicate translucence under the light streaming in from the outside.
Nathalie was about to turn another page to look for the experiment Zevaney was most likely conducting.
Her phone placed by her side started to ring.
The girl with a slightly annoyed expression pushed the chair away with her foot, leaned back against the chair, and reached out to pick up the phone, holding it to her ear: "Hello."
Her tone was frivolous and laid-back.
Clearly, she was somewhat annoyed.
The person on the other end of the phone call sensed her irritation and cautiously asked, "Boss, are you free?"
"Hmm?"
Nathalie’s expression was quite annoyed.
She paused for a second, consciously reigning in her emotions, adjusted her mindset, and casually added, "Is there something you need from me?"
"...It’s nothing major." The voice from the other end was clearly a man’s, gruff and hearty, a straightforward person: "I just came over with much difficulty and wanted to ask if you have time to meet up. Boss, are you free?"
Nathalie glanced in the direction of the computer, eyeing the calendar at the bottom right corner: "The day after tomorrow afternoon?"
"..."
Nathalie sharply noticed his silence, pressing her brow, she suppressed her irritation and asked, "Do you have plans the day after tomorrow afternoon?"
"I don’t have plans. I just came to Inderia, what plans could I have." The man on the other end denied this, then tentatively asked her, "Boss, are you free tomorrow?"
Nathalie thought for a moment and replied quite seriously: "Yes."
"Who?"
"?"
She realized and then replied leisurely: "No one I need to meet. But I’ve been so tired recently, I don’t want to go out tomorrow."
...
Far away in the no-man’s-land of Inderia, Diana stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding the phone in a daze for a long time.
He thought the boss’s plans tomorrow were more important than him, but who would have thought... He actually didn’t know whether to laugh or cry for a moment.
Diana lowered his head and couldn’t help but laugh.
His subordinate thought he was stimulated, and was so startled by his grin that he looked down and stared hard at his toes, afraid of getting kicked by his boss for breathing too loudly.
Luckily, the boss didn’t even look at him.
The subordinate just heard his boss’s eerily cheerful voice say: "Alright then, the day after tomorrow afternoon, it’s set."
After receiving Nathalie’s affirmative response.
Diana was satisfied, hung up the phone, and walked back while telling his subordinate, "Clear my schedule for the day after tomorrow afternoon, and find a nice place for a meal, make a reservation."
The subordinate dared not ask too much: "Boss, for how many people should I make the reservation?"
Diana walked back to the sofa, casually picked up a bottle of XO from the liquor rack, opened the stopper, poured himself a glass of liquor, added two ice cubes, swirled the glass twice, and thought a bit, "Two will do."
This time he’s meeting the boss alone, definitely not inviting Emma Gabehart.
Otherwise, with that woman’s sharp-tongued personality, she’d definitely diss him.
Moreover... he’d be an idiot to invite those two clowns from the group for this solo opportunity to curry favor with the boss.
Before his subordinate left, Diana stopped him to specifically instruct: "Find a decent place with plenty of strong-flavored dishes!"
