He frowned and raised his hand towards the bushy-bearded man, saying, "You go out first. I need a moment alone."

The bushy-bearded man then walked out, silently closing the door behind him.

Outside the room.

Several members of the Isadora Family stood guard outside. Seeing him come out, they immediately whispered, "Boss, what did Mr. Isadora say? Should we make a move?"

The speaker made a throat-slitting gesture, evidently no stranger to such acts.

The bushy beard had just heard from Regina Isadora about Nathalie Quinlan’s scary deeds, and now looked at him like he was an idiot, crossing his arms and scoffing, "Make a move? You think this is Mundania? Just because you say make a move, you think you can do it."

"Not only do you not know the opponent’s true strength, but the fact that she is Nicholas Fuller’s successor—if you dare make a move, The First Research Institute and Nicholas Fuller definitely won’t let you off easily!" Especially when the other party is an influential figure hiding new missile weapons.

Make a move?

They’d be nothing more than delivering themselves ’on a platter’!

The bushy-bearded man’s gaze swept over them, saying impassively, "Just stay put! If Mr. Isadora has plans, he’ll inform us. Meanwhile, stop babbling mindlessly and maybe you can live a few extra years."

Inside the villa.

Nathalie Quinlan was still unaware that someone planned to harm her.

She had just finished dinner.

Amadeus Yancey personally cooked a meal consisting of four dishes and a soup, all with mild flavors. However, he couldn’t help but prepare a separate dipping dish for Nathalie Quinlan with a bit of chili oil.

This little bit of chili oil was just barely better than nothing for someone who loved spicy food as much as Nathalie; she only managed a few bites before putting down her chopsticks.

After dinner, Sadam Vinson swiftly went to clear the dishes, while Alfred Garland washed up in the kitchen...

Soon, the doorbell rang.

Amadeus Yancey had just come out of the study and, while passing by, noticed the girl leaning against the sofa playing a game. He lazily and elegantly walked toward the entrance, touching his earlobe.

He opened the door.

Standing there was a man looking like a delivery guy; seeing a man open the door had him visibly startled, he quickly assessed Amadeus and asked, "Excuse me, does Nathalie Quinlan live here?"

Amadeus Yancey glanced at the other man’s rather ordinary appearance, one that wouldn’t stand out in a crowd.

"She’s here." He stepped aside to make way, indicating that she was inside.

The man craned his neck to peer at the girl inside, his heart settling as he spotted her playing a game on the sofa. Naturally, he handed over the package he was holding, saying, "This is Ms. Quinlan’s delivery. Please check it, and if possible, sign for me."

As he spoke, he pulled a pen from his pocket, looking quite authentic as if he really was a delivery person.

Amadeus didn’t expose him and received the pen from the man’s hand, signing his name on the courier slip.

The man tore off the top sheet, handed Amadeus the package, and hurriedly said, "Thanks for accepting it. I won’t disturb you anymore."

Amadeus felt the weight of the thin cardboard box he received, suggesting there wasn’t much inside.

As he looked up, the delivery guy had already vanished from sight.

"Tsk." He clicked his tongue softly; his exquisite brows and eyes resembled a painting of layered mountains. He closed the door and turned towards the living room, package in hand.

The girl had just finished a game, took a sip of water, and seeing the extra package in his hand, lifted her gaze and casually asked, "My delivery?"
