Chapter 2406: Don’t Go Too Far

The young girl hadn’t finished speaking yet.

The girl’s cold voice came faintly as she was already heading towards the card table: "How do you want to play?"

Amadeus Yancey saw this and grabbed her, saying, "Your arm isn’t healed yet, don’t play."

Nathalie Quinlan turned her head and gave him a teasing look, her eyes rather restless, and said casually, "Isn’t this because of you?"

Amadeus was slightly stunned, seemingly only then understanding the meaning behind her words, he couldn’t help but smile wryly and was just about to explain to her.

Nathalie had already calmly brushed his hand aside: "I’ll play a couple of rounds with her."

Lianna Young watched the interaction between the two under the warm lights of the private room. No matter how unwilling she was, she had to admit that the scene before her was too pleasing to the eye.

The man was tall with long legs, strikingly handsome.

The girl had a cold sharpness with a hint of arrogance, her face equally exquisite and eye-catching.

He looked down, while she looked up. Although they were just whispering, it gave off the impression that they had their own world, where outsiders couldn’t intrude.

Lianna suppressed the bitterness in her heart, clenched her fist, and with a calm face, headed towards the Pai Gow Poker table.

As she passed Zed Moore, the man grabbed her: "Don’t overdo it."

Lianna impatiently shook him off, only feeling the world was utterly ridiculous, suppressing her anger, and said irritably: "I’ve had a crush on Amadeus for seven years, from knowing nothing to going through seven years. Today I’m heartbroken, and I’m not even saying I want to bully her, is it too much to just play a round of Pai Gow Poker with her?"

Zed Moore loosened his grip on her hand, feeling quite sympathetic towards her, yet had to remind her: "Amadeus didn’t hold it against you because Ms. Quinlan is here, but that doesn’t mean he’s not angry. Ms. Quinlan is his inverse scale; be mindful of your boundaries, don’t overdo it and erase the affection accumulated over these years."

Lianna looked again at the girl who was already at the Pai Gow Poker table, playing with a die. She took a deep breath, calmed down, and said, "Don’t worry, I know to be lenient."

She shook off Zed Moore and walked to the Pai Gow Poker table, boldly asking Nathalie Quinlan: "What shall we play?"

Nathalie Quinlan put the dice back and looked up, calmly saying, "You decide."

"Are you sure you want me to decide?" Lianna looked her up and down. The girl in front of her was exceptionally beautiful, and being a sucker for a good-looking face, she found it hard to be harsh with her. Plus, with Zed’s reminder in mind, she weighed the situation and withdrew her gaze, saying, "I heard your arm was injured. Let’s not play Pai Gow Poker, let’s play something simple. How about dice?"

She briefly explained the rules.

Lianna, considering that Nathalie seemed quite young, didn’t choose any complicated gameplay, picking the simplest one instead, which was to compare the totals.

"We each have 6 dice, whoever’s total score is higher wins. Besides, the three same numbers is the highest hand, best two out of three. Is that okay?"

"Okay."

Nathalie Quinlan moved her left arm, indicating she had no objections.

Lianna didn’t expect her to agree so readily, raised an eyebrow, and called a waiter to bring over two dice cups and more dice.

She split them so each had six dice and made sure Nathalie selected one first to prove she wasn’t cheating.

Nathalie casually picked a side, then looked up and said to her, "You go first."

Lianna was a bit surprised: "Are you sure you want me to go first?"

Other members of the Yandor Sect also showed expressions difficult to describe as they looked at the girl, as if surprised she would dare let Lianna go first.
