The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2367: It Was Midnight, but Nathalie Quinlan Still Hadn’t Come Out

  • Next Chapter

During this period, Nicholas Fuller couldn’t wait downstairs any longer and came up to look for her. However, after knocking on the door, Nathalie Quinlan was completely engrossed in deciphering the Morse Code and didn’t have the time to open the door for him. She just said through the door, "Wait a little longer, I’m not done yet."

Nicholas stood at the door for a few minutes, then quietly went back down.

...

Downstairs in the living room.

Sadam Vinson finished a game, came out to get some water, and saw that Nicholas Fuller and Giordano Yancey hadn’t left yet. Surprised, he walked over and said to the man sitting by the sofa, "Nathalie hasn’t come out yet?"

Amadeus Yancey was holding a tablet, seemingly looking at something. Hearing this, he placed the tablet on his knee, propped his chin with his hand, and lazily looked in the direction of the second floor, "No."

"Tsk. What’s she busy with up there?" Sadam glanced at Nicholas, "I see Mr. Fuller has been waiting for nearly three hours now."

It was almost dark outside.

Nicholas was quite patient and hadn’t left yet.

Sadam looked at the time, then at the two prominent figures sitting in the living room, then realized, "At this time, Mr. Fuller and Mr. Yancey will surely have dinner before leaving. Amadeus, what are you planning to feed them tonight? It better not be hot pot again... Nathalie loves hot pot, I’ve had it almost every meal recently."

Amadeus casually placed the tablet on the sofa, stood up and said, "Let’s eat out. Alfred Garland isn’t home, and there are no groceries here."

"Oh, right." Sadam rubbed his belly, seemingly a bit hungry, and muttered to himself, "I wonder when Nathalie will be done."

Although Amadeus didn’t know what Nathalie had found at the research institute, judging by Nicholas coming over to deliver it, he figured it was something important.

He half-closed his eyes, exuding a kind of noble laziness, and put his hands in his pockets, saying languidly, "Let’s wait."

...

And they waited all night.

At ten thirty in the evening, seeing that Nathalie still hadn’t come out, Nicholas, noticing it was quite late, proactively suggested he head back first and wait for news.

Mr. Yancey, accompanying Amadeus, saw him off.

Unwilling to give up.

They waited in the living room for another two hours.

It was almost midnight.

Even Mr. Yancey couldn’t hold out any longer and felt embarrassed waiting overnight at Amadeus’ place. So he called Candice Yancey to come pick him up.

He left the villa before midnight.

Alfred didn’t return.

The villa had only Amadeus, Sadam, and Nathalie.

Nathalie locked herself in her room again, leaving just Amadeus and Sadam downstairs.

Amadeus was fine, having not mentioned being hungry the whole time.

Sadam initially could wait patiently, but eventually got too hungry, so he rummaged through the kitchen to find some instant food.

He cooked a bowl of instant noodles, and the fragrant aroma at least managed to calm his ravenous heart.

As Sadam carried his noodles to the dining area ready to eat, he remembered to ask the man still waiting in the living room, "Amadeus, do you want a bowl? What about Nathalie? Should I take a bowl of instant noodles up to her?"

Amadeus looked at the noodles he was holding, raised his wrist to check the time. It was 1 a.m. He rubbed his temples, a bit of a headache, but knowing the girl’s personality well, "Eat yours, don’t disturb her."

"What about you? You’re not eating either?" Sadam opened the noodle cover, and the aroma hit him. He eagerly tore open the chopsticks, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

Turning back, he asked the clear, calm man, "You really not eating?"
