The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 2298: I Meet All the Director’s Public Requirements

  • Next Chapter

Nathan Garland was compelled to look away by his gaze, not daring to meet his eyes, but still did not yield, speaking righteously: "It’s not just me; I believe everyone present wants to hear the reason why you, Director, do not allow Zevaney Kingsley to participate."

Violetta Hoffman was the first to scorn him without regard for face: "Mr. Garland, if you want to protect ’your people’, no one is stopping you, but don’t drag us into it. We haven’t said a word! From start to finish it was you speaking; we are not like you; we still know we belong to the research institute."

"Mr. Hoffman, enough, say no more." The person in charge of the 2nd-level laboratory beside Violetta Hoffman saw Nathan Garland’s face suddenly darken and quickly tugged Violetta’s arm, softly advising her.

Violetta let out a ’tsk’, flicked her wavy bangs from her ear, revealing her bright and radiant profile.

She completely disregarded Nathan Garland’s sharp glare and laughed lightly: "I’m speaking the truth, those who know, know Mr. Garland is from The First Research Institute; those who don’t would think Mr. Garland is from the Kingsleys Family."

"I didn’t protect anyone; I’m just following the rules!" Nathan Garland was flushed with anger from her ridicule and retorted angrily.

Violetta indifferently adjusted her collar: "Oh."

The meaningful ’Oh’ instantly infuriated Nathan Garland!

This Violetta is just as troublesome as Nathalie Quinlan!

No wonder they are friends!

Zevaney Kingsley then stepped forward, speaking seamlessly: "Director, I applied according to the conditions you mentioned. Do I not meet the conditions of having published accomplishments in SCI? If I meet these conditions, I also want to know why I can’t participate in the selection for The First Research Institute’s heir. Is it really because you are privately close with Nathalie Quinlan, and I have offended her before? Are you unwilling to let me participate due to her?"

She is a smart person, speaking so frankly, directly pointing the blame at the absent Nathalie Quinlan, inadvertently confirming Nicholas Fuller’s ’petty mind’, and his ’public revenge’, deliberately targeting a junior.

Nicholas Fuller was initially not particularly angry, but Zevaney Kingsley mentioned Nathalie Quinlan and shifted the blame onto her.

He laughed angrily, yet quickly calmed down, looking at Zevaney’s graceful face, directly asking her: "You said you’ve published accomplishments in SCI, I ask you, were those accomplishments made by you alone?"

If Zevaney Kingsley lacked even this attitude, she wouldn’t have reached this point today; she didn’t bat an eyelid, confidently replying: "Of course they are my own accomplishments. If what I published wasn’t my work, someone would have sued me already."

Lynette Kingsley had long passed away.

A deceased person obviously cannot expose her.

Zevaney Kingsley surely knew this well, which is why she so recklessly claimed things as hers, simply certain that the deceased couldn’t speak.

Nicholas Fuller took a deep breath, his temples pulsing: "Your own accomplishments? You were in the institute for seven years without publishing any work, yet a month after leaving The First Research Institute, you published three breakthrough achievements in succession. Do you think this matter itself is normal?"

Zevaney Kingsley didn’t bother to meet his gaze, maintaining her composed demeanor: "This, I think the Director shouldn’t ask me, but... the research institute."

The implication is that The First Research Institute had held her back!
