After a slow stroll around the basement to map out a general layout, Gu Su turned and headed up the wooden plank stairs.

He already had a clear plan. Once all his subordinates returned, the first order of business would be to divide the basement, allocating space for various structures.

He intended to prioritize moving any buildings that could be built underground into the basement. This would both save surface space and create a more organized layout.

For example, the Yin Soul Shop and the Combat Outpost. Neither structure had strict terrain requirements, making them more suitable for construction underground.

Once all these structures were moved underground, the surface could be used purely as a cemetery, no longer cluttered with other buildings. This would maximize the use of every plot of land.

After all, Gu Su had recently noticed that the number of available Empty Tombs in the cemetery was far too low—not nearly enough for his Undead to rest and recover their Life. He desperately needed more Empty Tombs and, more importantly, open space to expand the cemetery and accommodate his Undead.

Previously, with no spare land, he’d had to make do. But now, with a cleared, spacious basement, he could optimize the surface layout. Naturally, Gu Su prioritized this task to lay the groundwork for future development.

Stepping out of the basement entrance into a fine drizzle, Gu Su didn’t linger. He quickly ducked into the core tent nearby.

The moment he entered the tent, he swiped his hand through the air. A translucent panel materialized—the Graveyard Demon’s management panel. Unlike before, a detailed virtual map now appeared beneath it, perfectly replicating the entire terrain of the Graveyard Demon.

On this virtual map, the entire Graveyard Demon was precisely divided into a grid of one-by-one-meter squares. Each square was marked with precise coordinates, making everything clear and easy to understand at a glance.

The game-like system had long-established standards for how many squares each building occupied. Even the Graveyard Demon’s core facilities—the Deceitful Tree, the core tent, and the Yin Fire Heap—weren’t fixed. They could be moved and adjusted freely.

As long as the target squares weren’t obstructed by other structures or debris and there were no coordinate conflicts, Gu Su could use the panel to drag and drop these facilities, moving them at will to flexibly adjust the layout.

The system placed no restrictions on whether these buildings and facilities were situated on the Graveyard Demon’s surface or in the newly cleared basement. The decision was entirely up to Gu Su, offering immense flexibility.

In truth, this layout-adjustment feature had been available since the Graveyard Demon was first unlocked. But back then, the Graveyard Demon was mostly empty with few buildings, so there had been no need to make any special adjustments. As a result, Gu Su had never really used the feature.

But things were different now. The Graveyard Demon had more and more buildings, plus the large new space of the basement. With more elements to arrange, it was the perfect opportunity to optimize the entire layout and ensure every bit of space was used to its full potential.

Having made his decision, Gu Su focused on the virtual map. With a light swipe of his finger on the panel, he drew a straight, virtual road using the Graveyard Demon’s main gate as a central axis. The road cut straight through the entire cemetery, extending from the gate to the wall at the far end.

The creation of this virtual road instantly divided the Graveyard Demon’s surface into left and right sides. The Empty Tombs, which had been scattered haphazardly around the Deceitful Tree, were now selected one by one by Gu Su on the panel. He dragged them to either side of the road, arranging them in neat, orderly rows according to the Undead’s Level, the size of the Gravepiles, and the type of Tombstones. The result was a very tidy, organized appearance.

While moving the larger Gravepiles and Tombstones, Gu Su paid special attention to the orientation of the headstones, adjusting them all so they faced the road.

This way, any returning Undead or occasional visitor could see at a glance the Level and type of Undead stationed in each Gravepile and Tombstone, making the layout both uniform and intuitive.

Meanwhile, Gu Su also moved the Withered Wood Forest from its original position in the top-left corner of the cemetery. He dragged the entire forest to the area left of the Deceitful Tree. Its dying, tangled branches mingled so closely with those of the Deceitful Tree that it was difficult to tell where one began and the other ended without looking closely.

The Deceitful Tree’s fluorescent green light even began to seep into the Withered Wood Forest, slowly illuminating it as well.

Two large Gravepiles, hidden deep within the Withered Wood Forest, were moved along with it. They remained concealed, shielded by the dense, dead trees. Even with their headstones facing the road, they weren’t directly visible, making them ideal for housing Undead that needed to operate in secret.

Gu Su designated the large, open area to the right of the Deceitful Tree for the Yin Fire Heap, dragging it over from its previous spot. After all, as the Graveyard Demon’s energy core, the Yin Fire Heap deserved its own prominent location.

Any materials that currently lacked storage space would be piled up here, and in the future, supplies for Gu Su’s subordinates would be distributed from this spot.

As for his own core tent, Gu Su moved it to the former location of the Withered Wood Forest, placing it directly across from the basement entrance. The position was extremely convenient.

This way, when Gu Su got up in the morning, it was convenient for him to either handle trivial matters on the Graveyard Demon’s surface, check on the Undead and the state of the cemetery, or simply turn around and head into the basement.

Finally, Gu Su selected the Yin Soul Shop and the Combat Outpost, which he had already planned to relocate. Using the panel, he dragged both structures directly into the basement, placing them in two prime, easily accessible locations and getting a head start on the basement’s layout.

In Gu Su’s long-term plan, he intended to use the four columns of building space in the basement to create distinct commercial, training, research, and recreation zones. Each zone would serve its own purpose without interfering with the others, maximizing the use of the underground space.

The Yin Soul Shop and the Combat Outpost, being the first two structures to be moved into the basement, reaped the early-bird advantage and were assigned the most convenient spots.

With all that arranged, Gu Su finally turned his attention to the four types of plants growing within the Graveyard Demon.

The Strong Root Grass was planted along the perimeter wall. As long as the wall stood, the grass would remain in place.

The Ghost Moss was originally planted next to the Tombstones. Now that all the Gravepiles and Tombstones had been moved to their designated spots to form the Main Cemetery Area, the Ghost Moss naturally began to grow much more rapidly.

He believed it wouldn’t be long before the Main Cemetery Areas on both sides of the road were covered in this Ghost Moss.

As for the Dew Grass, he hadn’t created a separate channel for it yet, so for now, it could only take root in the corners along the perimeter wall.

The Saw Grass, which was cultivated without soil, also needed a new home, and Gu Su would have to find another place to put it.
