the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1611 - 1576: Why Did You Kiss Me?
Ah Tan opened her big dark eyes and looked at the man’s distinctly masculine face at such close proximity, with his high nose bridge and angular, rugged features. The scar on his brow ridge added a hint of sharpness and ferocity, but she knew this man’s heart was actually very soft.
Ah Tan felt parched under his gaze, and then she saw the man’s deep dark eyes press in closer, the atmosphere in the tent becoming abruptly chaotic. Her vision momentarily blacked out as his dry lips and tongue pressed against her thin lips. Something exploded in her mind, a strong and invasive masculine aura engulfing her, as if the man wanted to swallow her whole like a beast.
Ah Tan had never experienced such a kiss before and felt as if it took half her life away. One of her hands was still in the tent’s sleeping bag, while the other weakly pushed against his chest, trying to push him away, to breathe. Instead, she touched the man’s heart, pounding fiercely like thunder, the muscles on his chest pressing against her small hand through the thin fabric, scorching and laden with a dangerous aura.
After living together for three months, Ah Tan had always thought she held no attraction for him. But now, with his strong arms half embracing her and suffocating her with his kiss, she panted and realized that Marcus Quinn was just a normal man, and his previous indifference was likely a facade.
Her right hand instinctively moved to embrace, wrapping around the man’s back. This compliant acceptance made the man’s actions become even more uninhibited. Marcus originally planned for it to be just a light taste, but Ah Tan didn’t push him away; she embraced him. The sweet, soft girl’s body was incredibly pliant, breathing delicately and softly. Marcus’s whole body turned to stone. After tasting her, he couldn’t imagine how he endured the past three months.
The man kissed her tirelessly, the initial stormy passion gradually turning into an extremely gentle breeze and drizzle, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes fierce, sometimes tender, their cheeks intimately rubbing. The temperature in the tent suddenly rose, and Ah Tan felt his body temperature rising higher, feeling a bit scared yet emboldened. She could barely breathe as the kiss nearly suffocated her, and just when she was about to pass out, Marcus abruptly pulled away, gasping heavily.
He didn’t let go of her, holding her soft, liquid-like body tightly as he hoarsely said, "Close your eyes and sleep."
As he spoke, the man reached out a broad, calloused hand to cover her eyes. Ah Tan felt her heart about to leap out, breathing in the fresh air, feeling like a boiled shrimp, all over hot and flushed. Just a kiss nearly took her half life; what about the future?
Thinking of this, she felt hot again, both scared and nervous. Fortunately, her eyes were covered by Marcus, or she would die of shame. The man’s large hands almost covered her whole face. She breathed gently, feeling her mouth a bit sore, likely bitten and kissed raw by him.
Ah Tan dared not make a sound, but was completely sleepless. She didn’t know how long it took, but their breaths finally calmed a bit, though the atmosphere grew increasingly ambiguous and awkward.
Ah Tan perked up her ears, listening to Marcus’s strong heartbeat, thinking of his beast-like strength, timidly tugged on Marcus’s sleeping bag, and whispered, "Marcus, do you like me?"
Although her father always told her, men are easily swayed by beauty. She’d been beautiful since childhood, and her father put in a lot of effort to drive away the boys coveting her beauty. His discipline was strict, and even her fiancé Caspian Yarn had little chance to get close to her.
Although Caspian had kissed her, it was on her forehead. Now she barely remembered his face, feeling as though he belonged to a different world. She left Seacoast, embarking on a completely different life.
After kissing her, Marcus felt the ultimate sweet taste, then broke out in a cold sweat, regretting not holding back. She was very cautious, and it took him three months to slowly ease her into accepting his closeness. If kissing her ruined it all, the man felt as if his heart would stop beating. He remained lying in the tent, covering her eyes, face turning pale, not daring to move.
Only when Ah Tan tugged on his sleeping bag that he felt the chill dissipate, and the man huskily said, "I do like you, but you deserve a better man."
He was never a man lacking self-esteem, but Ah Tan was his fatal poison.
Ah Tan was initially worried he acted this way because of her beauty, but hearing Marcus say she deserved a better man made her want to laugh. Sensing the man’s genuine thoughts, she grew bolder, pulling down his large hand, turning to look at Marcus. Their foreheads touched, breaths becoming a little irregular again.
Marcus looked into her sparkling eyes, speaking hoarsely, "Go to sleep, or else..."
"Or else what?" Ah Tan blinked her long lashes, noticing his gaze indeed deepened and his breathing grew heavier.
All was silent, only the sound of firewood crackling.
Marcus already woke up, but since Ah Tan hadn’t, he dared not go far. The fire had burned out, so he gathered dry branches to make breakfast. Until Ah Tan woke, they exchanged a glance and quickly averted their eyes, a sweet feeling arising, feeling several times more intimate than before.
Ah Tan looked at the stream reflection, finding her lips indeed swollen, cheeks a bit hot, feeling for the first time what love truly tasted like.
Neither had the heart for breakfast, eating hurriedly before packing to return to the Holiday Village.
