the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart
Chapter 1591 - 1566: Marcus Quinn Takes Ah Tan to the County Town
Marcus Quinn and Ah Tan were leisurely selling mandarins and pig trotters, while the Holiday Village was suddenly hosting a large wave of tourists, causing a bit of panic.
Everyone was out for National Day, climbing mountains and burning incense at temples, so they weren’t in a rush. Seeing the Holiday Village next to the scenic spot, almost a large group of people came over, and some uninformed tourists followed suit.
Fortunately, Irving Spencer used to be a government official and had some experience following behind his leaders. He quickly calmed his father, reassuring him that every area of the Holiday Village was well-defined. Tourists could shop as they pleased, just close the doors of each household. People were sent to guard the orchards and lakes, new entertainment activities were added temporarily, including fishing and picking mandarins, which were sold at 10 yuan per pound. Others were sent to the cafeteria to prepare lunch foods.
Luckily, everyone in the village was warm and hospitable, almost everyone acted as a host.
Seeing how beautiful the Holiday Village was, with signs along the way, and the lunch was affordable, with a month’s free play guarantee for eating in the Holiday Village, everyone registered for lunch, paid the money, received a number tag, and went straight to enjoy at the orchards and lakes, while others went to play in the fields, and those exhausted from mountain climbing rested at the cafeteria, ordering fruit tea and some food.
Upon seeing so many people, and limited ingredients at home, Irving immediately called Marcus Quinn, urging him to come back and fish, otherwise the lunch would certainly be insufficient.
"Go back and fish." Ah Tan chuckled; fishing now would be too late. It’s better to go to the county to buy, and the pig trotters would surely also be insufficient, home only had enough vegetables, all meat had to be bought.
"Buy more green tea and mandarins, sell them fresh at the cafeteria, it’ll surely be popular." Ah Tan advised.
The man nodded, seeing her smiling brightly at the stall selling fruit and pig trotters, gently caressed her face and said in a low voice, "Come with me to buy the ingredients, you can choose whatever you want. We’ll follow your recipes in the coming days."
So many tourists had their eyes on her, he was uneasy leaving her alone.
"Who will sell the fruit then?" Ah Tan also wanted to go with him, but someone needed to stay to attract customers.
"Sister, you go with Marcus, leave this to us; scanning and payment are straightforward, we all know how to do it." Calvin Zamora confidently said, "If there are too many people, I’ll call my mom to watch the stall."
"Exactly, I’ve known how to do this since elementary school." Wang Gang chimed in.
"Good, I’ll increase your pay, 200 a day, and eat as much fruit and pig trotters as you want." Marcus grinned softly.
Immediately, the two almost-grown young men cheered, exclaiming joyfully, "Long live Marcus, we will complete the task."
"Calvin, later bring people to the Holiday Village, call all our mothers."
"Leave it to me."
Thus, Ah Tan went with Marcus to drive to the county town to buy ingredients. The vegetables in the Holiday Village were sufficient and plenty, even if there was a shortage, they would buy from villagers, which allowed villagers to earn some extra money. After all, everyone grew more than they could consume, the rest was buying meat products.
Marcus drove to the largest agricultural and specialty market in the county, locked the car door, and led Ah Tan by the hand to browse the market.
Ah Tan was visiting the market for the first time, seeing each area neatly divided, looked around following behind Marcus, feeling fresh and excited. As she looked too beautiful and attracted attention, Marcus frowned slightly, held her hand tighter, as they skipped the vegetables section, heading straight to the slaughter section.
Marcus ordered 200 pounds of pig trotters, bought 50 black fish, due to the large quantity, there was an hour wait for the trotters to be delivered, after paying, he took Ah Tan to buy beef and lamb, respectively carrying back a lamb and buying 50 pounds of beef.
"Marcus, we should raise some cattle and sheep, so we can eat them during the New Year." Ah Tan suggested, though not knowing about other villages, she noticed villagers raising cattle and pigs, chickens and ducks, even the eggs sold by the old lady today were laid by her own chickens.
"Or we could let villagers raise them, and we’ll purchase? If Anfield Village isn’t enough, we’ll buy from other villages. First, they are home-raised, better than farm-raised ones, and second, it increases local income. Since the Holiday Village opened, lots of food ingredients are needed." Ah Tan said sweetly as she shook his rough palm unconsciously.
