Chapter 1589 - 1565: Crushed by an Amateur Aesthetic Designer_2

As they entered the village, they saw the previously grimy and dilapidated old buildings had been completely transformed. Each one looked like the standalone and terraced villas seen in Suton’s upscale communities, but none of Suton’s villas had houses as old as these.

The residents of Anfield Village seem both dispersed and not dispersed; while not truly clustered, they are still somewhat grouped, with each household cleverly forming its own unique area. Originally, houses with loquat trees planted in front had their styles centered around the loquat. Chaotic flowers and trees were removed, and lawns were transplanted in.

If a house had no trees in front, it featured lush climbing plants, and even these climbing plants, surrounded by vibrant flowers, created spaces for outdoor relaxation with coffee tables and chairs.

Almost every household had its own distinct style, complete with signposts explaining the style of each house. It seemed as if the entire village had suddenly become a cluster of villas encompassing various styles.

Joy Zachary was astonished by it all, wondering if she had come to the wrong place. The designer was remarkable, having transformed and beautified the village’s original house features, giving almost every house a distinctive trait and theme.

Joy was deeply shocked again when she saw the man didn’t drive directly to the manor’s entrance but instead took a detour to the newly designated parking area, which surprised her even more — was there even a parking lot?

"Why aren’t the doors closed on these homes? Weren’t these houses originally empty and uninhabited?"

"Marcus Quinn bought these houses, using them as guest rooms for the holiday village. I’ll show you and your son around. All the designs here were made by Marcus’s fiancée, Tara Chase. That girl is wonderfully talented, and Marcus consults her on many matters." Irving Spencer excitedly led the mother and son into one of the houses at random.

In terms of aesthetics and design, these rough men couldn’t hold a candle to women, especially someone as affluent and knowledgeable from a young age as Tara.

Once Joy stepped inside, she saw the courtyard transformed into a leisure space. Almost every yard included a tea area, leisure area, and plant area. Inside was even more vintage, with dark wooden floors, white walls, green bamboo mats, wooden screens, canopy beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, and all retro furnishings, making Joy feel as if the modern European decor in her own home was shabby in comparison.

So amidst these waves of shock, when Joy saw Tara herself and realized how beautiful she was, she was already numb. Upon seeing the towering, taciturn Marcus, noticing the muscles under his clothes unlike those Irving developed in the gym, and his intimidating aura, she instantly knew the Quinn descendants were indeed different from them, understanding why her in-laws guarded the Quinn manor all their lives.

Previously, Joy might have thought the Quinn family was returning to cause trouble, but after meeting them, all her concerns vanished.

"Marcus bought this for me," Tara said with a bright smile.

Returning to her senses, Joy looked at Tara’s clothes, feeling that Marcus truly cherished her — those clothes didn’t look cheap.

After breakfast, Tara and Marcus delivered a car full of ugly tangerines, half-tall pots, and crates of pure water to the scenic area.

Because Tara was undeniably attractive, almost the type of beauty noticeable even in a crowd, selling pig trotters and ugly tangerines naturally fell to her.

Tara hadn’t sold anything before and was eager to try. As Joy, being a girl from the city, found selling goods a bit beneath her, she remained at the holiday village as a hostess. Seeing this, Marcus accompanied Tara to sell the ugly tangerines.

The man unloaded crates of ugly tangerines from the car, then brought down a pot of pig trotters and subsequently moved boxes of mineral water.

Being in the countryside with no city management authorities, the scenic area staff didn’t interfere with what the locals were selling. So early in the morning, Marcus had already set up a temporary stall, bringing over three sets of tables and chairs from the holiday village. Knowing Tara was particular, he also brought leftover linen tablecloths from house renovations — green checkered tablecloths that looked fresh and appealing.

When Marcus set up the sunshade umbrella, Tara laid out bowls, plates, and disposable forks, allowing people to sample both pig trotters and ugly tangerines. As soon as the arrangements were complete, tourists started arriving one after another.
