The Medusa Strait
Even though each Medusa could kill several ordinary enemies, the Profound Elemental cultivators were beginning to form small groups.
It was exactly the kind of battle that favored a much larger army, but while the two armies fought, Thesira continued advancing.
Fortunately, the strait was narrow, allowing the enemies to enter in waves and giving her and her army room to maneuver.
This time, she did not need any support. Her cultivation level was simply too high for those soldiers.
A wave of spiritual energy exploded around her body, causing the air to whirl as her beautiful body moved with it.
Her sword drew a complete, graceful, and elegant circle.
BOOM!
More than twenty enemies were struck by the brutal attack at once, killing most of them, while only three were sent flying backward.
Thesira did not stop there. She leaped into the air, and her body quickly crossed several meters.
When she landed, she stomped her foot against the ground. Spiritual energy traveled through the stone, and an invisible wave swept across the strait.
The nearby soldiers lost their balance.
"Kill her!"
A commander roared.
"She’s alone!"
"All Profound Elemental cultivators, advance together!"
More than a dozen cultivators charged toward Thesira, who merely looked at them, her face remaining calm.
"Finally."
She raised her sword, and at the same time, the cultivators arrived simultaneously.
An axe came from the left and a spear from the right, while two swords came from the front.
Thesira spun her body acrobatically. In that instant, the first blade passed through her serpentine hair.
She blocked the axe.
CLANG!
The force caused the cultivator to lose his balance. Thesira used his own strength against him, simply spinning her body and throwing him into three of his companions.
Before the four could touch the ground, she had already disappeared, reappearing behind another cultivator.
Her sword pierced through his spiritual defense. Before he even knew what had struck him, the man fell dead, his body split into two even pieces by the sword.
Thesira continued.
One after another, they were cut down quickly, as if their hardened leather armor did not even exist.
Blood began to cover her blade, and the nearby Medusas began to shout.
"Elder Thesira!"
"Keep going!"
She replied without looking back.
"Don’t stop!"
The battle intensified, and for several minutes, the enemy army began to be destroyed.
Dozens and hundreds.
The difference between a tenth-stage Profound Nascent cultivator and ordinary soldiers was simply absurd.
Thesira advanced at high speed, disappearing from one point and appearing at another, reaping the lives of Beastmen and Lizardmen.
Her strength allowed her to pierce defenses that ordinary soldiers could not even scratch.
A sword struck the ground, and an explosion of spiritual energy sent several soldiers flying through the air.
She raised her eyes, and her beautiful eyes released green rays that shot forward once again.
More enemies were petrified. An officer watched in horror.
"She’s alone..."
Another soldier replied:
"She’s killing dozens with every attack. That woman is a demon!"
The commander gritted his teeth.
"How many have we lost?"
"More than three hundred have already been killed by her!"
The man’s face turned pale.
"In such a short time?"
Then a voice came from behind him.
"Because you’re letting a tenth-stage cultivator fight ordinary soldiers."
The commander turned around.
Varkhan was standing behind him, his yellow eyes fixed on Thesira.
"My lord..."
Varkhan did not answer immediately. Rhaena approached and stood beside him, and the Lizardwoman looked at the bodies scattered across the strait.
"If we continue like this, we’ll lose thousands before we even reach the second line."
Varkhan bared his sharp teeth.
"Then we’ll go in."
Rhaena gripped her two curved swords.
"I was waiting for you to say that."
The two disappeared at the same time.
Thesira felt the spiritual pressure before she even saw them arrive, causing her expression to change.
"Everyone, retreat! Immediately!"
An enormous shadow appeared before her as Varkhan brought his fist down with force.
BOOM!
Thesira blocked with her sword, and the shockwave caused dozens of nearby soldiers to fall.
Her feet slid several meters across the stone as Varkhan landed before her.
"You’re strong."
Thesira took a deep breath.
"So are you."
"But I’m not alone."
Rhaena appeared behind her.
Thesira immediately spun around as the two curved swords descended.
CLANG!
Thesira blocked the first, while the second struck her arm, causing blood to flow from the wound.
She retreated a moment later. Meanwhile, Rhaena advanced again, and Thesira responded with a horizontal slash.
Rhaena ducked.
Varkhan attacked from the front, his fist violently striking the sword.
BOOM!
The blade nearly slipped from Thesira’s hands from the force generated by the impact, forcing her backward.
This time, there was someone capable of keeping up with her speed. Not just one, but two.
Thesira quickly looked at the two of them.
"So that’s why."
Varkhan smiled.
"Why is that?"
"You kept these two hidden."
Rhaena narrowed her eyes.
"It doesn’t matter."
Thesira raised her sword.
"Because now I know I need to kill you before you continue advancing."
Her spiritual energy exploded, and the pressure generated swept through the strait, forcing the nearby Medusas to retreat.
Varkhan and Rhaena remained motionless.
Thesira advanced.
The three disappeared simultaneously in a blur created by their speed.
BOOM!
An explosion erupted in the center of the battle, then another, and another.
Swords, fists, and spiritual energy techniques collided so rapidly that the nearby soldiers could not even follow their movements.
Thesira managed to strike Varkhan in the chest, sending him flying backward from the impact.
But this created an opening for Rhaena, who took advantage of it and slashed the side of her body.
Thesira retreated.
Blood flowed from her waist, but even so, she did not stop. Her beautiful eyes glowed.
Green rays shot forward.
Varkhan dodged.
Rhaena did as well.
The wall behind them was turned to stone.
"She can still use that much energy?" Rhaena asked.
Varkhan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
"She’s trying to buy time."
Thesira heard him.
Her expression changed for an instant, but Varkhan noticed the slight movement.
"I was right."
He charged forward.
Thesira blocked.
Rhaena attacked from the other side.
The sword cut into her shoulder, and Thesira gritted her teeth.
Then she spun around and released an enormous amount of spiritual energy through her sword.
BOOM!
The two were forced to retreat, but the cost was obvious. Thesira’s breathing was heavy.
She had consumed an enormous amount of spiritual energy since the beginning of the battle.
And while the three fought, the rest of the army continued advancing toward the strait. One thousand five hundred enemy soldiers entered.
Then two thousand.
The Medusas tried to resist, but wave after wave continued entering. Some used their eyes to petrify entire groups.
Others fired poisoned arrows.
The Profound Elemental cultivators fought directly against the enemy cultivators, using spiritual energy to strengthen their bodies and weapons.
