"I have nothing to do with her."

"Sure, like I believe that." Ling Xiaoqiao snorted, gazing out the window without speaking further.

Seeing her like this, Lin Mu did feel an impulse to drive to a hotel and rent a room. However, it was just an impulse, as he understood well that Ling Xiaoqiao hadn’t yet resolved her heart’s dilemma. Exhibiting such intentions now would only ruin the barely reconciled relationship.

Reaching the summit at midnight, the gently sloping terrain was covered in green grass, and it was quiet all around. Occasionally, a couple of chirps from birds or insects echoed, quickly fading away.

Just then, the hazy full moon suddenly twinkled twice, strands of light cascaded down from the sky, intertwining and converging in mid-air, miraculously condensing into a silver lotus. Wow! The surrounding fireflies seemed guided by some mystical force, swirling around the silver lotus, dancing in circles...
