The Super Bodyguard of the Beautiful CEO
Chapter 1603 - 1617: Awesome Little Monk
Chapter 1603: Chapter 1617: Awesome Little Monk
Screech! The braking performance of the special police vehicle was far superior to that of civilian cars. Despite the wet, slippery roads, the seasoned police officers managed to halt the car in time. Suddenly, a massive boulder appeared in the middle of the road, blocking about one-third of the path, leaving insufficient space for the special police vehicle to pass.
"What’s going on, a rockslide?"
The old police officer frowned. But before his words could fall, a Buddhist chant was already echoing in his ears.
"Amitabha Buddha!"
Out from the darkness stepped a Little Monk clad in a robe, strikingly handsome. He was only about seventeen or eighteen years old, with black, clear eyes, and white, delicate skin like a newborn. A peculiar sheen faintly glowed on his skin, "Benefactor, the sea of suffering is boundless; turn back and there is shore!"
The Little Monk’s face was full of compassion as he sighed deeply. Almost at the instant the word "shore" fell, the bulletproof glass of the special police car’s front windshield shattered with a crack, and two Pearl River Delta police officers in the front seats died without a sound, as a large amount of black blood poured out from their facial features.
"Bang!" The rear door swung open, and three elite armed police officers escorting Ghost Zhong jumped out and opened fire. However, the bullets missed in the rain as the Little Monk moved too swiftly, leaving behind residual shadows in the air. The three provincial armed police officers fired one shot each, only to see him leap into the air, breaking through the guardrail one after another and falling into the mountain stream beside the road.
Snap! The handcuffs fell to the ground. Ghost Zhong rubbed his wrist and knelt on the ground with a face full of joy, "Thank you, Master, for your rescue."
"My Buddha is merciful!" The Little Monk chanted a Buddhist mantra, and with a wave of his right hand towards the void, he swept both the special police vehicle and the huge rock in between off into the mountain stream. Ghost Zhong’s expression became even more respectful, "Congratulations, Master, on achieving mastery in Divine Skill."
"What mastery in Divine Skill? It’s just having attained the Void Pill and comprehended some Inner Qi Method."
The Little Monk shook his head and picked up Ghost Zhong. Despite being a man weighing a hundred and ten pounds, carrying him seemed effortless. Within the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, they arrived at an abandoned hut. Pushing the door open, they lit an oil lamp, revealing a girl seated at a wooden table, her eyes flickering yet unable to move. Ghost Zhong’s eyes glinted with a sharp chill.
"Gifted with the essence of heaven and earth! This girl possesses some wisdom, but alas, her heart is fixated and unable to enter my Buddha’s realm..."
"What does Master mean?" Ghost Zhong gestured a slash across his neck.
"You fool, if I intended, I would’ve transcended her long ago, no need to wait until now."
The Little Monk glared and said, "Use her as bait to lure that person out. Though my Buddha is merciful, being humiliated warrants reciprocation a hundredfold, a thousandfold. What the heck, how could I have accepted a blockhead like you as my disciple..."
Meanwhile, events outside Wancheng went unnoticed by Lin Mu. Perhaps due to exhaustion, he returned to the villa, took a chaotic shower, wrapped himself in a sheet, and fell into a deep sleep. In a daze, as he lay submerged in dreams, he felt his ears being grabbed, shaken, and pulled without a clue.
Lin Mu mumbled a complaint and pushed it away instinctively, surprised at the soft, elastic resistance. Before he could make sense of what it was, a piercing scream shattered his eardrums, "Damn, what demon is this!" Opening his eyes, Lin Mu was greeted by a small white foot with pink nail polish, kicking his head and face.
The only one to wake him up in such an atrocious manner in the villa could be no other than Sophie.
As Lin Mu raised his arm to prevent his handsome face from being distorted by kicks, he scolded in bad temper, "What’s wrong with you early in the morning, instead of sleeping you’re creating a havoc here, stop this craziness; no, stop your feet! Don’t blame me for not warning you, you’re exposed, I can see the lace..."
This remark worked. Sophie gasped and withdrew her little foot, her face turned red as she covered the hem of her nightgown, "Perv!"
"Come on, let’s be reasonable, shall we?"
Lin Mu rolled his eyes in annoyance, "I’m here sleeping in my own room, minding my own business, and you come barging in to spy, then indiscriminately kick around wildly, and the worst part, girl, you’re not wearing socks! Sophie, could you have some decency? I can tolerate you kicking my face, but passing your athlete’s foot to me is too much!"
"You, you wide-eyed mutt, see clearly, I do not have athlete’s foot!" Sophie argued in confusion, raising one foot onto the bed to show her white calves to Lin Mu.
"You may not have athlete’s foot. But that ’Victoria’s Secret’ appears to be a counterfeit, since loose threads are coming out..."
Sophie realized that she and Lin Mu seemed astrologically incompatible; every encounter led to a verbal spat, and to her chagrin, in these clashes she invariably suffered losses!
"Bastard, bastard!"
During breakfast, the beautiful CEO scraped her plate with a dining knife in frustration, staring daggers at Lin Mu even while eating sausage, causing Lin Mu’s heart to tense in apprehension, instinctively shielding his crotch and resolved to change his room’s password. It was too dangerous, if she sneaks in one day, it wouldn’t be my reputation at stake, but should she take a bite, my happiness for the rest of my life would go up in smoke.
"I’m done. Prepare the car to go to the golf course." Sophie slammed down her cutlery and headed upstairs.
"You’ve provoked her again?" Song Yanan finished his milk and wiped his mouth with a napkin, maintaining immense composure.
"No, she bullied me." Lin Mu shrugged and said, "I only pushed back slightly, didn’t let her have all the fun bullying me, and here we are."
"You’re a man, Feifei is a girl, can’t you give her some leeway?" Song Yanan was amused but also exasperated; Lin Mu’s special status meant she couldn’t freely scold him, so she floated a suggestion and changed the topic, "You’ll accompany Feifei to play golf later, I have company matters to handle. By the way, this is a social event for Pearl River Delta elites; it’s said Governor Fang’s son will attend. Be sure not to cause any trouble, as it would be hard to clean up."
North of Wancheng, over seventy miles away, lies the largest golf club within the six coastal provinces—Tangchen First-class. Tangchen spans two thousand acres, costly and well-equipped, with utterly beautiful surroundings. Overlapping mountains, the entire course lush with woodlands, green grass blanketing the terrain. Some golf courses meander charmingly around emerald lakes, others wind elegantly through green hills, painting a poetic picture.
Of course, it is also extremely expensive, strictly a membership club with an entrance fee starting at two million, keeping all those with limited means, looking to indulge in bourgeois sentiments, firmly outside.
