Chapter 1601: Chapter 1615: Lin Mu’s Revenge

"Speaking stammeringly, are you stuttering?"

Lin Mu glanced at him, casually tossed the menu over, and said, "Order what you want to drink, it’s on me."

"No, when out with bro, of course Xiaoxi pays." Watermelon was flattered, repeatedly saying no.

"Hell, can you stop calling each other Xiaoxi, like a fake girl? Don’t you have a real name?"

"Didn’t you ask me to change it?" he whispered and then quickly said, "Cheng Xu, the name my parents gave me."

"Cheng Xu, now that sounds like a normal person’s name."

Lin Mu nodded, extended his hand, and said, "Lin Mu, Muzi Mr. Lin, Yangfan’s Yang. We didn’t know each other before we fought, but now there’s something I want to ask you, and I hope you can tell me the truth."

"If Mr. Lin has something, just say the word. Even if it means going through fire and water, Xiaoxi... oh no, Cheng Xu won’t even frown."

Cheng Xu was thrilled! In his view, Lin Mu revealing his own name was clearly a sign of their relationship taking a step forward.

"It’s not that exaggerated." Lin Mu curled his lips and said, "I just want to ask you one thing—do you know about a woman named Ling Xiaoqiao..."

Walking out of the cafe, it was already noon. The blazing heat hit like a wave, making people very uncomfortable, but the air around Lin Mu felt slightly cool, strangely. After starting the Audi and pondering for a while, Lin Mu headed to a small clinic. When he emerged again, he was carrying a black package.

In East District, inside the Firewood Tavern, it was bustling. As the saying goes, a skinny camel is still bigger than a horse. Though Master Gang’s prestige was not what it once was, he was still the boss of East City. Today was the day he got out of the hospital, so he held a banquet. Of course, many people came to celebrate. In addition to his minor leaders and subordinates, Master Gang had specifically invited bigshots from the other three districts, aiming to stabilize the situation and see if he could use an outside force to get rid of some traitorous bastards.

However, just as things were looking up, and the three big bosses were making unanimous promises, pledging unity and vowing not to kick someone when they were down, the door suddenly burst open with a bang. A person in camouflage, wearing a mask, with a dazzling long knife in hand, walked in step by step.

This unexpected event left nearly a hundred people on the spot stunned simultaneously.

What a joke, this was a banquet hosted by Master Gang, with three underground bigshots sitting above, and yet someone dared to cause trouble here, and alone at that? Was he tired of living? Frankly speaking, every one of them here could easily drown the guy with a spit, no exaggeration.

"Who the hell are you!"

A burly bald man jumped to his feet, but before he could finish his words, the shining blade flashed before his eyes. The bald man widened his eyes, clutched his neck, uttered something gargling, and collapsed. The bright red blood quickly stained the carpet.

"You were there that day, so you have to die!"

Lin Mu’s deep voice echoed in the silent hall. A few seconds later, someone shouted, "Kill him!"

Immediately, chaos erupted. The bloody confrontation had aroused the ruffians’ anger, and they grabbed chairs and tables, charging at Lin Mu. Nearly a hundred people, a dark mass—the sheer momentum alone would have scared the piss out of any ordinary person, even causing beasts to flee in panic. Yet Lin Mu’s expression didn’t change at all.

The knife was like frost and snow, eyes like starlight; his hands were swift, his steps steady, and his body agile. The attacks launched by the ruffians were neutralized by an invisible force before coming within inches of his clothes. Yet each time Lin Mu swung his knife, one person would scream and fall. From a distance, he seemed like a sword, a sharp dagger cutting through straw, unstoppable wherever he went.

Blood occasionally splattered in the air; there were always those clutching their limbs and falling in pain, while others were cleanly eliminated with a single lethal blow. Cheng Xu was a very savvy person; his phone stored photos of all of Master Gang’s thugs. So when Lin Mu leapt onto the high platform, apart from Cheng Xu and Ghost Zhong, all sixteen people who had chased Ling Xiaoqiao that day were gone to the land of the dead.

"Debts have a source; I’m here for Master Gang. So if you don’t want to die, sit tight; otherwise..." Lin Mu flicked his wrist, and the blood droplets on the knife flew into a ruffian’s eye. With a crack, a phone fell, and the ruffian clutched his face, howling miserably as he squatted. Judging by the blood gushing between his fingers, that eye was clearly gone.

The three bigshots were petrified, all turning their eyes to Master Gang.

"You, who are you?" Master Gang gulped, stealthily reaching his hand under the table.

"Who I am is not important. What’s important is, today you must die."

Lin Mu exhaled, his chilling voice like a whisper from hell itself.

"Ha, I think you’re the one who’s gonna die!"

Master Gang roared suddenly, leaping up with a Type 54 pistol now in his hand. Despite mainland China’s strict firearms control, on the black market, if you were willing to pay a hefty price, they were easy to get. Since hearing that Ghost Zhong had been caught, he’d anticipated chaos in East City, so he got someone to get him a pistol for protection. Little did he know it would come to use today.

"It’s useless."

Yet, facing the dark gun barrel, Lin Mu’s gaze was serene. He shook his head and said, "Tell me, who did you send to kill Ling Xiaoqiao, and I’ll give you a quick end; otherwise, it’s dismemberment and no resting place even in death."

"Ha, you’re one of that bitch’s minions."

Master Gang sneered abruptly, pulling the trigger.

BANG! Gunshot rang out. Lin Mu tilted his head, and the bullet missed, smashing a distant lamp.

Master Gang was astonished; he had served a few years in the military. His shooting, though not masterful, was much better than the average person, yet at such close range, he missed? But after a brief moment of shock, he steadied himself and fired again.

But this time, Lin Mu twisted his body, and effortlessly dodged the bullet once more.

"Impossible, damn it!" Master Gang panicked, rapidly squeezing the trigger. The three bigshots’ faces were filled with terror, as a nightmarish horror unfolded. Lin Mu’s figure shifted instantly, moving so fast as to leave afterimages. BANG, BANG, BANG—the gun clicked six more times and was empty, and yet Lin Mu had already stepped in front of Master Gang.

"I told you, it’s useless."

With a sigh, his long knife suddenly swung up, and Master Gang’s gun-wielding arm was sliced off. Quick, too fast—it was only when Master Gang saw his arm drop that he felt the excruciating pain.
