Chapter 131: Using the Teleportation Array For The First Time!

When Aisha arrived at Sector Nine’s border gate and asked for a ticket to the Association, she received unexpected news.

The border gate connecting to the floating island had been closed!

And it wasn’t only Sector Nine... every border in each sector had banned anyone from using the transit toward the Association’s floating island. No one was an exception, and the soldiers guarding the Association’s border gate could not be bribed either!

When Aisha arrived there, she saw a wealthy noblewoman trying to bribe a guard with a necklace set with a luxurious gemstone worth a lot. But as if the soldier didn’t even see her, he remained completely indifferent and statue-like in front of the border.

In the end, a crowd of nearly a hundred had gathered in front.

"What the hell is going on? Why can’t we go to the Association?"

"I don’t know, man. I’ve asked around, but no one has said a word!"

"Is the Association under some extraterrestrial attack?"

"That can’t be!" A bald man said. "I just asked my daughter who lives in the Association, and she said everything was going perfectly inside."

"Then, just what is going on?"

Aisha didn’t anticipate that there could be a problem at the border gate heading to the Association. But she didn’t panic like them. There was another way to get inside the Association.

She turned away from the border gates and headed toward the place where the Teleportation Arrays were.

There were sounds of low thrums of crackling energy in all directions.

On this side of Sector Nine, Aisha stood in line beside the teleportation array. Surprisingly, it hadn’t been blocked by the soldiers, yet only a dozen people were around compared to the large crowd forming in front of the border gate.

In front of her was a huge teleportation array.

This portal was constructed on top of a ribbed walkway, forming a ringed door. A churning vortex of dark blue and purple energy hummed with immense power. Every time it shone, it would radiate light with an overwhelming aura.

There were also guards in the surrounding area. At most, each teleportation array had ten soldiers who coldly looked at the people queuing up. Their gazes were filled with heightened vigilance, as though they would instantly kill if anyone had the slightest intention of going against the rules.

Soon, the person in front of Aisha disappeared into the teleportation array.

The rules of the teleportation arrays were simple. And the most important and easiest to remember was that only one or two passengers could use the array at a time. If anybody were to go against this rule, it didn’t matter if the soldiers caught up to them; the complicated array would tear them apart before they could reach their destination, becoming a part of the array forever.

Aisha had also understood the underlying meaning behind this rule. As imposing and powerful as this array was, it was also a suitable device for invasion.

Finally, it was her turn.

She walked on the walkway and stood before the teleportation array. Although there was no wind coming from it, stray hair from her head and the hem of her clothes were swept back.

"Show your permit."

A soldier instructed from a couple of steps behind her.

The soldiers all stood in a tight formation around the array, but never close enough that they’d get accidentally swept into the array.

She thought back to the permit Zeke had given her and took it out of her storage bag. To be honest, she hadn’t expected it to come in handy despite herself thinking she didn’t have any use for it.

Now, the permit Zeke had given her had become a way for her to get too close to where Zenick was.

When she stepped onto the array, Aisha thrust her hands into her pockets, holding her spiritual beast and her storage bag in her palms.

In the next instant, the light swirling inside the array swallowed her.

When the light dissipated, Aisha, who stood in front of it, disappeared.

In the teleportation arrays of the Association.

The arrays were still spitting a few people onto the island. The moment these people appeared before the guards, they were thoroughly checked before they were allowed to walk around the island. But no one asked for a fee, nor was there a need to bribe any of these guards.

Anyone who could use the array was given permits by the Association. No one could block them from entering the island unless they’d been crossed out from the list.

But there was a teleportation array that no one, not even the emperor, could ever come in and out of.

It was the Association’s Supreme Commander’s personal teleportation array!

The people who knew that this array had been unused for a long time could only stop and admire it. A few people who had just come out of the array would glance at it once or twice before walking away.

And that teleportation array was now flickering!

"Am I seeing this right?"

"Honey... Am I going to meet the admiral right now?"

The soldiers stationed in the teleportation arrays also stood ramrod straight. They sneaked a glance at the teleportation array since they couldn’t just move out of their stations without any reason.

But at that moment, when more people realized that the Admiral’s personal teleportation array had some activity, a young woman appeared.

The young woman was covered in dark-colored clothing, and she had her hair braided. Her hands were inside her pockets in an intimidating pose.

However, her eyes were abnormally bright, like the stars.

As soon as she appeared, she heard bustling noises and the people standing below the platform. There was also the feeling of tingly prickling in her feet as though they had been disconnected from her legs. And the slight lightheadedness.

It took a moment for this strong sensation of unfamiliarity to finally calm down.

The young woman was none other than Aisha, who had teleported over from Sector Nine.
