Arthur walked into the grand private quarters of the Apex Estate, where Lyra sat at her ivory desk reviewing the evening’s central bank ledger. The soft moonlight filtered through the archway, catching the lustrous sheen of her silver hair and highlighting the exquisite, mature confidence she had gained over the past three years. She was no longer the timid girl he had pulled from the slums; she was the formidable public head of a global financial empire. Yet, whenever Arthur entered the room, her composure softened, her violet eyes shining with an intimate, unshakeable devotion.

"Arthur?" Lyra murmured, placing her golden quill down and standing up. She walked over to him, her fitted velvet gown accentuating her voluptuous, elegant silhouette as she naturally wrapped her arms around his waist. "Nisha and Ignis were babbling down in the courtyard about some insane rumor. Please tell me you aren’t actually planning to leave the estate."

"It isn’t a rumor, Lyra," Arthur said smoothly, resting his hands gently against her lower back and pulling her closer. "I’ve instructed Celeste to enroll me in the Central Aegis Academy for the upcoming semester. As an ordinary, low-ranking freshman."

Lyra froze. She pulled back slightly, staring up at him with wide, disbelieving eyes before her expression hardened into a firm, resolute refusal.

"Absolutely not!" Lyra declared, her voice ringing with a sharp, possessive authority that surprised even herself. She gripped the lapels of his coat, her cheeks flushing hot with anger and anxiety. "I refuse, Arthur! I won’t allow it! You are the sovereign of this entire continent. You built the bank, the legal system, the academy itself! Why on earth would you pretend to be a common student?!"

"Because I am bored, Lyra," Arthur answered honestly, offering her a low, captivating smile that made her heart skip a beat. "We spent three years grinding through macroeconomic structures, military logistics, and political warfare. The empire runs itself now. I want to see our creation from the inside. I want to enjoy the freedom we fought for, observe how the youth are learning, and experience the world without a crown on my head."

"Then go on a vacation!" Lyra argued fiercely, her violet eyes welling with protective frustration. "We can take a sky-drake to the southern resorts! You can rest here, with me, in the estate! Do you have any idea what the academy is like right now? Ninety-eight percent of the student body consists of fierce, aggressive noble heiresses, high-tier female adventurers, and ambitious war-heiresses! Males are practically sacred trophies in the public eye. If you go in there unescorted, without your personal guard, those wild girls will devour you!"

She pressed her chest against his, looking up at him with a mixture of intense jealousy and deep concern. Over the years, their bond had grown far beyond that of a master and subordinate, or even a strategist and his proxy. They were absolute partners, completely open with one another, their mutual affection deep and unspokenly romantic. The thought of him walking into a sea of predatory noblewomen—completely unprotected by his royal title—made her stomach twist in knotting jealousy.

"I won’t let you go," she pouted, her lips quivering as she held him tightly. "I’ll order Celeste to erase the registration files. I’ll lock the estate gates myself."

Arthur looked down at her flushed, indignant face, feeling a wave of deep warmth for how protective and open she had become with him. He reached up, cupping her cheek with his warm palm, his thumb softly tracing her cheekbone until her sharp anger began to melt into a breathless, fluttering shiver.

"Lyra," Arthur murmured, his voice dropping into a deep, mesmerizing tone that sent a thrill straight down her spine. "Look at me."

She hesitated, then raised her eyes to meet his cool, unwavering gaze.

"Who built the academy?" Arthur asked softly.

"You did..." she whispered.

"Who controls every spell formula, every economic textbook, and every administrative law taught in those halls?"

"You..."

"Then trust me," Arthur said, leaning down slightly, his lips brushing against her ear as he spoke. "No one in that school can hurt me, and no one can replace you. You are the CEO of my empire, the face of my bank, and the woman who holds my absolute trust. The academy is just a sandbox for me to play in for a few months. Let me have my fun."

Lyra gasped softly, her breath catching in her throat at his proximity. Her cheeks burned bright crimson as his words struck her heart, destroying her stubborn resistance. She loved his ambition, his cold brilliance, and the sheer, unstoppable confidence that radiated from him. Trying to hold Arthur Vance in a cage—even a golden, luxurious palace—was impossible.

She let out a long, defeated sigh, resting her forehead against his chest as her hands smoothed over his shoulders.

"You are completely hopeless..." Lyra muttered softly, her tone shifting from angry refusal to reluctant, affectionate surrender. "You construct an entire civilization just to get bored of it and play games."

"Is that a yes?" Arthur smirked gently.

Lyra looked up, her violet eyes filled with a mixture of exasperated love and possessive warning. "It’s a conditional allow. You will wear a high-grade mana-concealment artifact at all times. You will report to me every evening through a private comm-crystal. And if any of those arrogant noble girls try to get too hands-on with my secretary..."

She leaned up on her tiptoes, pressing her soft, warm lips against his in a sweet, lingering kiss that tasted of lingering warmth and absolute devotion.

When she pulled back, her eyes were shining. "...I will personally use the Central Bank’s economic leverage to ruin their entire noble house before breakfast."

Arthur chuckled softly, pulling her tight against him for one last quiet moment in the moonlight. "Deal."

With Lyra’s final permission secured, the sovereign’s quiet exit was set. The next morning, the grand gates of the Aegis Academy would open for a new semester, completely unaware that the man who owned their world was about to step into the freshman assembly.
