The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1309: It’s Time
Not long after, the avatar left the tavern and headed toward one of the teleportation gates in the city. Because of the ongoing war, security had become much tighter.
The only ones who could leave the city were merchants, nobles, and anyone who had a permit from the temple.
To get out without any trouble, the avatar had to use the resistance group's connections here, which had already infiltrated many places, including the guards stationed at the teleportation gates.
While the avatar walked toward the teleportation gate, he also thought about his next move after this. With him already having spread more seeds of hostility among those invaders, he hoped that they would end up killing each other.
'Keeping Randolf alive and using him was truly a good idea.'
To use the card named Randolf, he decided to be more daring and take the risk of being tracked by Avergis.
He decided to use hypnotize technique on Randolf and use it to give him false memories. Using hypnotize was much easier because of Randolf's current mental state.
He decided to take a risk based on the assumption that even though the system was still inside Randolf, it could not do anything to him. Avergis wouldn't be able to track him or do anything to him through the system as an intermediary.
He put his complete trust in his domain's power to prevent any of Avergis' tricks the moment he cast hypnotize on Randolf and brought him to the Second Heaven.
After placing Randolf under the effects of hypnotize, everything happened just as he had expected, and fortunately, nothing bad happened. The system did not interfere with his hypnotize, nor did it show any signs that Avergis had done anything through it.
When he made Randolf appear in the Second Heaven, he actually felt tense for obvious reasons.
The Second Heaven was Avergis' territory, and he could exert more of his power there. Avergis might instantly sense Randolf, and his system might start working again.
When he created his newest domain, he quickly sensed Avergis' prying, which he had already expected.
He quickly returned Randolf to the First Heaven as soon as his role was complete. He did not want Randolf to stay any longer in the Second Heaven.
At this moment, the man was unconscious inside his room in the Valroy family's mansion, and he would forget everything that had happened while he was hypnotized.
Luckily, the alliance forces on Avergis' side had decided to begin their attack much earlier, so he was able to move Randolf naturally without raising much suspicion from the Northern Emperor.
The alliance forces on Avergis' side must have become agitated when they sensed his aura, causing them to hasten their attack. From what he had heard, the troops in this city were the first ones to attack Tarius' followers' territory.
The last thing he needed to do was let the Northern Emperor ascend, and then everything would be done.
While he was at it, his real body also wanted to try something he had never had the chance to do before. He wanted to try fighting those gods inside his domain through his avatar.
Since he became an Immortal Realm cultivator, the avatar had undergone an evolution, and one of the things that changed was its abilities and capabilities inside the domain.
Now, the avatar could exert the domain's full power if the real body's consciousness entered it. Aldrian no longer needed to come personally whenever the avatar encountered someone far more powerful than himself.
As long as his real body's consciousness entered the avatar and created the domain, there was practically no difference between fighting through the avatar and fighting with his real body.
It could be considered a cheat, as he was able to fight using a clone while possessing the exact same strength.
If he died, he would not experience true death because his consciousness would simply return to his real body.
The only weakness of this method at the moment was that his real body would be left vulnerable as long as his consciousness remained inside the avatar.
He didn't know what would happen if someone managed to kill his real body while his consciousness was still inside the avatar, and he had no intention of finding out.
As the avatar continued thinking about all of this, he was almost at one of the teleportation gates when a male voice echoed in his mind.
"Your Excellency, please use the third teleportation gate on your right. Just state your destination, and we will direct you there."
The avatar looked at the mentioned gate and walked toward it.
He had already decided on his next destination. This time, it would be a city near another of Tarius' followers' territories in a different domain. He wanted to see if he could create even more chaos in the middle of the war.
The total war would provide an excellent stage to spread even more chaos among Avergis' alliance forces. With so many powerhouses gathered together, he did not need to seek them out one by one.
After the avatar reached the gate, he told his destination to the man handing out the tokens. The guards assigned to watch over the gate did not say anything and simply let the avatar pass.
No one was suspicious that the avatar was able to enter the gate, as most assumed that he was either a merchant, a noble, or someone who already possessed a permit from the temple.
After all, they did not know everyone across the Second Heaven.
The avatar left Tarluk without any problems.
----------------------------
Time continued to pass, and three days had gone by.
The total war was finally in full swing, with the alliance forces attacking Tarius' followers' territories across the Second Heaven. As many had expected, the alliance forces were able to capture the territories quickly.
In some places, a Tarius follower managed to make the alliance forces suffer heavy losses, although they still achieved victory.
Many instantly recognized that these people belonged to the same group that had been causing chaos across the Second Heaven over the past month.
The casualties were much higher than many had expected.
A great battle also broke out at the place where the Southern Emperor was hiding. After facing three gods from the temple, the Southern Emperor was said to have escaped by ascending to the higher heavens after he was nearly killed.
All in all, the total war was progressing in the direction that many had expected, but they did not expect the casualties to be so high.
When a week had passed, most of Tarius' followers' territories had already fallen, leaving only tens of domains that had yet to be completely conquered. However, it was only a matter of time before they fell.
At this moment, Aldrian's real body was standing on the surface directly above the underground city where he had been staying. The surface was a vast mountain range, with forests covering its foothills and stretching into the distance, where he could see a city.
Aldrian stood on a cliff. His hands were behind his back, and his gaze was calm. His long red hair swayed gently in the soft wind brushing against him, making him look heroic.
After watching the city for a while, he looked up at the sky. He slowly closed his eyes before opening them again.
'It's time.'
After a few moments of silence, he spoke.
"We will begin our counterattack two days from now. We will take back the Second Heaven,"
Two figures appeared behind him in kneeling positions. The twin assassins' eyes trembled, and their hearts beat faster. They couldn't help but reveal spirited expressions as they lowered their heads.
"May the glory of victory always follow Your Majesty," both of them said.
"No, it's not just me." Aldrian paused slightly before turning to look at the twins.
"It's for us, for all of us."
The twins' hearts trembled. Their gazes were fixed on their emperor's figure, who at this moment looked so majestic. With the light of the rising sun behind him and the wind sweeping through his hair, he truly looked like the emperor of the universe.
"May the glory of victory always follow us!" the twins shouted in unison.
In the underground city, the leader of the underground city, Elard Vinales, was inside one of his rooms, reading a scroll. At that moment, Aldrian's voice came to his mind.
"Spread the word to all resistance groups. We will begin our counterattack the day after tomorrow."
Elard's eyes widened, but then he smiled, and his eyes glistened.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
It did not take long for him to order the resistance group's members to spread Aldrian's message across the Second Heaven.
Although the total war was still ongoing and the security across the Second was at its tightest, the resistance group's various methods allowed them to spread the message on the very same day.
They already knew the plan, so with the arrival of the message, they only needed to wait for the signal to begin the counterattack.
Anticipation filled their hearts, as the time had finally come.
They would retake the Second Heaven!
