The Shining Star Above The Heaven
Chapter 1304: Facing the Gods Again
The two gods' faces were grabbed by Aldrian's palms. If they had been mortal realm cultivators, then with Aldrian pushing his palms in the opposite direction of their movement while they were traveling at such high speed, the two gods would have died with their heads severed.
That was how great the momentum from their speed was, and how powerful Aldrian was to stop it.
But fortunately, the two gods at this moment were immortal realm cultivators. Even more so, although they were only at the immortal realm, their bodies had already undergone a transformation into divine bodies.
Even though the full power of their bodies was sealed just like their true cultivation, they were still much stronger than ordinary immortal realm cultivators.
The moment their faces were grabbed by Aldrian, their bodies lurched forward, but they remained stuck in place without their heads being severed. They still did not realize what had happened when Aldrian slammed both of them into the ground far below.
Boom!
The impact of the two gods slamming into the ground swept the sand across the area away, and dust rose into the sky. A massive crater was created at the point of impact.
The two gods felt a headache, but that was all. They immediately realized that they had fallen into the man's ambush! They instantly tried to counterattack with attacks of their own.
The swordmaster struck with his hand imbued with sword will, while the assassin slashed with his hand. Their target was Aldrian's wrists, as he was still gripping their faces.
But before their attacks could reach his wrists, Aldrian disappeared and reappeared in the sky where he had stopped the two gods. He looked at them calmly, while the two gods quickly stood up and stared at Aldrian with furious gazes.
To think that they had fallen into an ambush and even had their heads grabbed by this unknown man! If this man had attacked them with a fatal strike, they did not doubt that they might have truly lost their lives!
As gods, they felt humiliated and furious that they had fallen victim to the someone's surprise attack.
However, despite their fury, they remained wary, for they had never seen this man before. Yet the fact that he could stop them with such an ambush showed that he was at least as strong as they were!
"You Avergis' followers, you bastards! You and your god will face judgment for betraying us! Don't ever think you can just walk away after betraying us and the Transcendence Alliance!"
The Northern Emperor's voice boomed across the desert region, causing the two gods to turn and look toward her.
They gritted their teeth and knew that they were already too late to stop the Northern Emperor from ascending.
They needed to ascend as well to pursue her.
However, the problem was that the unknown man seemed to be standing guard.
They believed that this man would not let them ascend.
"No you don't!"
Suddenly, a male voice came from the distance, carrying an aura no less powerful than the Northern Emperor's.
The swordsman and the assassin looked into the distance and saw that one of their comrades was also attempting to ascend. At the same time, he launched an attack technique at the Northern Emperor.
A giant ball of flame fell from the sky. It was as though the sun itself had fallen toward the Northern Emperor, but she merely snorted upon seeing it.
"Do you think that kind of attack can stop me?" she shouted as she thrust her palm upward. From her palm, a powerful wind vortex burst forth toward the incoming giant ball of flame.
The vortex instantly drilled through the giant ball of flame and destroyed it.
But before the Northern Emperor could smile in victory, a massive golden bell suddenly flew toward her from another direction.
"Then how about this?" another voice rang out, and this time it was a woman.
A giant bell exuding the aura of a peak divine-grade artifact descended with terrifying pressure, as if it wanted to prevent the Northern Emperor from ascending. It was as though the artifact itself sought to stop the heavens from sending the Northern Emperor to the higher heaven.
The Northern Emperor gritted her teeth as the fourth Divine Realm cultivator from the temple had already arrived. If the bell struck her, then even though she was already a Transcendence Realm cultivator, she could still be gravely injured.
Her attack power at this moment was not enough to completely stop the descending artifact, especially since she was also focused on the man who had attacked her.
She had still not recovered from the injuries she suffered during her previous battle against the swordmaster and the assassin.
But then, suddenly, the giant bell disappeared, stunning everyone present.
Before anyone could understand what had happened, a powerful sword will burst out from Aldrian's body as he stretched both of his hands to his sides. Two chaotic red energy vortices appeared above his palms, and then two swords manifested before them.
When all of the temple's Divine Realm cultivators sensed the power contained within those swords, they were shocked.
The sky had already created a portal for the Northern Emperor to ascend, and she had almost reached it.
But before she completely entered the portal, she too was shocked by how Aldrian had made the artifact disappear and had even created two swords that, in her eyes, were not much different from divine-grade artifacts.
The power they contained was enough to kill any one of them if they suffered a fatal strike from those swords!
She could no longer see what happened next, as her body was already being drawn into the portal, which quickly disappeared behind her.
After she vanished, Aldrian took one of the red swords and swung it toward the Divine Realm cultivator who was trying to ascend in pursuit of the Northern Emperor.
A crimson sword energy, carrying power far greater than the full-force attack of a peak Immortal Saint, shot toward the man.
The sword energy tore spatial rifts across its path, exposing the void behind them.
Seeing the attack racing toward him, the man immediately took a defensive stance and raised his barrier technique in the sky.
Even though his ascension process had already begun, it could still fail, as he had not yet reached the point of no return.
Four Heavenly Mountain.
A gigantic mountain rose from the ground at incredible speed, as though the earth itself had no weight. It soared so high that it reached the man's height, completely shielding him behind it.
The mountain possessed enough strength to protect him from any attack launched by a peak Immortal Saint cultivator, even those capable of unleashing the power of a Transcendence Realm attack.
But not even two seconds after he created his barrier, the mountain trembled before instantly crumbling apart as the sword energy split it in two. The sword energy did not stop there and continued forward, instantly cleaving the man in half vertically.
The space behind him was also torn open as the sword energy shattered the surrounding space before disappearing into the void.
The man's eyes widened as the two halves of his body slowly separated from each other. His divine soul had been completely destroyed by that attack!
His severed body fell to the ground at the same time the mountain collapsed, creating a deafening rumble that echoed across the region and triggered a powerful earthquake. Dust flew everywhere, greatly limiting visibility.
The remaining Divine Realm cultivators from the temple had already stopped paying attention to the escaping Northern Emperor, as their hearts trembled upon witnessing the scene before them.
The power Aldrian had just displayed filled every one of them with a sense of crisis!
They also finally realized the source of the aura they had sensed earlier.
This man was the source of that aura!
There was no mistake!
All of them were tempted to simply release the seals on their cultivation and attack Aldrian with their true strength, even if it meant doing so while their ascension process had already begun.
The swordmaster unsheathed his sword, which was actually a peak divine-grade artifact. His bearing changed as his eyes locked onto Aldrian. Sword will surged from his body as he also unleashed his Sword Heart comprehension.
The assassin also drew the two daggers from his waist, which were likewise peak divine-grade artifacts.
The woman also circulated her energy as she prepared to attack.
"We have to fight with our lives on the line this time. We cannot underestimate him at all despite our numbers. He is far too different from the Northern Emperor," the swordmaster said solemnly.
"Damn it, who the hell is this guy? I've never seen or heard of someone like him before," the assassin said furiously.
"If we cannot defeat him, then release your cultivation seals. We must kill this dangerous man. At the very least, we must report what happened here to our lord," the swordmaster said to the assassin and the woman through voice transmission.
Neither of them responded, but they silently obeyed him.
At this moment, there was no need for any further questions.
Seeing them ready to attack, Aldrian smiled. His aura erupted as a crimson aura, the energy of Tarius' followers, surrounded his body. The aura itself distorted the surrounding space.
The three Divine Realm cultivators' expressions become even more solemn.
Without any signal, as though their minds were perfectly synchronized, they attacked Aldrian simultaneously with their own techniques.
Sword energy, dagger strikes, and countless dark ice spears shot toward Aldrian.
But Aldrian merely smiled as he watched their combined attack. He felt ecstatic to finally be able to fight gods again.
He could finally release more of his domain's power.
Before the attacks could reach him, he crossed his two swords and—
Slash! Rumble!
He slashed with both of his swords, instantly destroying every incoming attack. At that very instant, the power contained within the strike caused half of the desert region to lose all of its sand in an instant.
