The Shining Star Above The Heaven

Chapter 1302: Convincing Evidence?

"What?" The northern emperor couldn't believe what she had just heard.

This man had captured Avergis' apostle? And he was connected to the rebels?

"Have you ever seen Avergis' last apostle?" the avatar asked.

The northern emperor unconsciously nodded.

"I have. When Avergis brought him to the higher heavens to meet the other apostles, I saw him for the first time, but that was also the last time." Then she narrowed her eyes.

"You said that you captured Avergis' apostle, but I heard that his whereabouts are unknown at the moment. How could you know where he was and capture him?"

Hearing her question, Aldrian realized she still didn't know that Randolf was in the first heaven, something Tarius should already know by now.

With Tarius' animosity toward Avergis, there was no way he wouldn't have asked about Randolf.

'From the timeline, it looks like Tarius still didn't know Randolf's location in the first heaven back then, so he never told his followers here, and since he can't contact them now, they still assumed Randolf was somewhere in the second heaven or somewhere else other than the first heaven,' Aldrian thought.

Pushing the thought aside, he replied to the northern emperor.

"Do you know that Avergis' apostle has been in the first heaven all this time? The first heaven has been infiltrated by his apostle for a long time, and his influence has been spreading slowly without your lord's knowledge."

The northern emperor was shocked once again.

"What? How could that be? Doesn't that mean God Avergis has been breaking the covenant for a long time? How could he...?" Her voice was filled with shock. Then she narrowed her eyes.

"Wait..." She looked at Aldrian suspiciously.

"The first heaven hasn't been accessible for some reason since a few months ago. No one can descend there or possibly even leave the first heaven. So if what you said is true, how could you have captured Avergis' apostle?"

Aldrian's expression remained unchanged.

"Let's just say I have an artifact that can bypass something like that. After I heard about our conflict with Avergis' side, I immediately descended to the first heaven. After searching for Avergis' apostle for some time, I finally found him, and after observing him, I discovered that he actually had a connection to the rebels."

"They seem to have formed a truce behind the scenes. With Avergis' apostle forming a truce with the rebels, he could spread Avergis' influence throughout the first heaven without being attacked by them."

"At the same time, he was also helping those rebels fight our side. It was their trick to spread their influence more easily while keeping our side occupied fighting the rebels. We would have remained in the dark until it was too late."

"I was lucky enough to capture the apostle while he was off guard. That is all I can tell you."

The northern emperor's expression turned extremely solemn.

"Can you take responsibility for this information? This is something that could determine Avergis' fate in the future. It could even determine how the alliance operates throughout this universe."

"What proof do you have? Even if what you said is true, there's no way I can report this information to my lord without anything to support it. Your words carry no weight before him or any master of the universes."

"There is another flaw in what you said about Avergis' apostle working with the rebels. Why would he do that? What benefit would it bring him or even Avergis' faction to oppose the alliance of gods and become our enemy? There is no way spreading their influence alone is worth the risk of opposing the entire alliance."

Then her gaze turned suspicious once more.

"Moreover, why do you need me to convey this information to my lord if you can do it yourself? If you can move freely between the heavens, you don't need me to deliver the information."

To be honest, she still found it hard to believe Aldrian, especially the part about capturing Avergis' apostle alive, even though Aldrian seemed strong and mysterious in her eyes.

She knew how difficult it was to capture an apostle, let alone capture one alive.

Aldrian didn't say anything. Suddenly, a figure appeared right beside him, lying on the ground.

The northern emperor was stunned because she hadn't sensed anything before the figure suddenly appeared beside Aldrian.

Even though she had kept her divine sense active the entire time, it still felt as though the figure had appeared out of nowhere.

Then she realized that the figure was unconscious.

The figure was a young man, and from the aura he was exuding, she knew he was one of Avergis' followers. But then her eyes widened as she sensed something distinctive about him.

'This... I've sensed this kind of aura before. This is Avergis' apostle!'

The one who had appeared beside Aldrian was Randolf. He was still wearing the same attire he had been wearing while inside his room with the other avatar.

The northern emperor's heart trembled. She remembered the aura of every apostle she had met in the past.

Each of them possessed a unique aura corresponding to their special cultivation technique, something that only that god could bestow upon an apostle.

That was why, even though a god's apostle could change many times, every successor would still possess that same unique aura.

The unconscious man before her undoubtedly possessed the unique aura of Avergis' apostle.

'He really captured him alive... How is that possible? This man is an apostle blessed directly by Avergis. He should have countless tricks up his sleeve. Even I'm not confident I could capture him with my current cultivation level,' the northern emperor thought in shock.

She then looked at Aldrian again.

'He really isn't simple. He's far too mysterious. Who is he, really? Does my lord know this man?'

"Although he is in a new body, his soul still belongs to Avergis' apostle. I know you can sense it as well," Aldrian said, causing the northern emperor to set aside her thoughts.

"As for why I'm not the one delivering this information to your lord, I have my own circumstances. It's not that I don't want to—I simply can't. That is as much as I can tell you. But this should be enough to prove that what I've told you isn't a lie."

Aldrian then lifted Randolf's head and gave him a hard slap before letting it drop back down. The slap was enough to wake Randolf, though he still seemed disoriented. He blinked a few times as he looked in front of him.

He was truly shocked to see a woman he had met in the past. She was a Divine Realm cultivator from Tarius' faction.

The fact that he saw her here meant he was in the higher heavens!

He then noticed the unfamiliar man standing beside him and immediately realized that this man was also from Tarius' faction.

Before he could say anything, he couldn't help but feel that the man looked familiar. Although he had never seen him before, it felt as if he had already seen him many times.

The feeling was strange, and even stranger was the fact that he could feel new memories entering his mind.

He was certain he had never experienced anything in those new memories, yet they seemed to have been buried deep within his mind and soul.

They unconsciously influenced his thoughts and actions, and the moment the memories settled, his expression twisted with fury toward the man beside him, as though Aldrian had done something unforgivable to him.

With a contorted face, he shouted,

"You bastard! How dare you—"

"From what I heard about his agreement with the rebels, he made a deal with them in exchange for the location of the thing we've all been searching for all this time. The rebels agreed, and the strange events in the first heaven all this time have something to do with their scheme."

Aldrian cut Randolf off before he could finish.

The northern emperor looked at Randolf again with narrowed eyes. Randolf's expression was filled with shock.

"H-How could you know that?" Randolf blurted out.

Seeing his reaction, the northern emperor knew that what Aldrian had said was true. She didn't sense any anomaly from Randolf's body.

She did not detect any hypnotic technique, or any other means of coercion. That led her to believe that his reaction was completely genuine after realizing that his secret had been exposed.

It looked like the mysterious man hadn't interrogated him at all and had merely kept him in custody, yet he had somehow already learned everything about the agreement between Avergis' apostle and the rebels.

She was truly astonished that the man could accomplish such a thing, but at that moment, an overwhelming surge of fury rose within her.

"You! How dare you betray the alliance! Is this your doing—no, Avergis must know about this. He must know about this! He must be trying to claim everything we've been searching for all this time for himself. To think you actually worked with the rebels!" she shouted at Randolf as her aura erupted violently.

Her aura pressed down on Randolf, forcing him to kiss the ground. But then Aldrian effortlessly blocked the pressure before it could injure Randolf any further.

"Relax. You could kill him with only your aura. He's still useful."

The northern emperor gritted her teeth. She wanted to say something, but before she could, she heard an urgent male voice from outside her chamber.

"My apologies, My Lady, but I bring an urgent report! The temple and the alliance forces have begun their attack! They have already entered our territory!"

The northern emperor's eyes widened, while Aldrian smiled inwardly.ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
