The Seventh Base

Chapter 1304: 63: Retreat

Capítulo 1304: Chapter 63: Retreat

Intelligent Immortality.

Xu Mo charged into the battlefield, realizing the tide was reversing and understanding what the Mystic God had become.

He transformed into a Super Intelligence, able to control all Intelligent Body Mechanicals on the Republic Capital Star, allocate all resources, just as Adela Palace Master had said, with the access the Mystic God held, he was indeed the god of the Republic Capital Star.

He could even create humanoid combat weapons on site, control the Mechanical Army and drone forces, manipulate all weapon systems, and even invade enemy starships.

Xu Mo had cultivated spiritual power; if strong enough, he could control all humans.

Whereas the Mystic God now seemed like another direction, able to control all machinery.

“Withdraw from the planet, engage in space combat.” The fleet of the five Alliance Armies realized the situation they faced and understood what had happened; in a certain sense, the Mystic God indeed was the Creator of the Capital Star.

If he wished, he could even replace Republic Leader Osman as the new leader, for at this moment, he effectively controlled the life of all humans on the Capital Star.

“While our signal hasn’t been hacked, it’s been interrupted; the opponent appears to be everywhere, and many starships have been commandeered.” Sound echoed from the command room of the Church’s main ship; they hadn’t expected to encounter such a situation.

“Buzz…” Just as these words fell, several starships fired on the main ship, coming from their own fleet’s starships.

“Launch attacks, destroy them.”

Having been controlled, they could only destroy them.

“Sound the alarm, continue retreating, other starships will follow.”

With the signal interrupted, command could no longer coordinate effectively, they couldn’t even issue orders to the fleet.

Conversely, the Capital Star’s attacks were extremely synchronized, as numerous beams of destruction shot towards their main ship, sealing all directions.

“Bastard…” Curses and alarm noises intertwined in the command room, followed by violent shaking, the main ship’s Shield couldn’t withstand much more.

Simultaneously, other positions constantly saw starships being destroyed or commandeered.

Other alliance fleets faced similar circumstances, they were retreating into space, clearly realizing combat on the Capital Star was extremely disadvantageous, and they needed to withdraw into space.

Moreover, amidst their panic, Osman and other top-tier Transcendents also charged forth; Osman punched an Intermediate Starship, and instantly, the massive starship began to crack and fragment, burning flames sweeping across, melting the starship into liquid, plunging downwards.

Osman, a top-tier Destroyer, an Intermediate Starship couldn’t withstand his attack.

“Screech…”

A beam of Light of Destruction shot forth, Osman raised a hand, and likewise, a terrifying fire-red Energy Light Column blasted out, dyeing the entire sky with flames, the temperature soaring rapidly, akin to a solar storm.

The fleets didn’t linger, accelerating their retreat, rushing out of the Republic Capital Star quickly, knowing continuing the fight would only lead to harsher losses.

The five Alliance Fleets returned to space, outside the O’Brian Star Space Base, Osman and the Capital Star Fleet did not pursue as fighting outside didn’t favor them.

The fleets restored communication while on the main ship of the Kales Empire, Roson Chris assessed fleet losses, his face dark as he spoke: “Ladies and gentlemen, the opponent likely controls a Super Intelligence, but in space, their control isn’t as strong, we can continue launching long-range attacks.”

As soon as he finished speaking, they saw from the direction of the O’Brian Star, numerous beams of Light of Destruction shot towards space, directly heading for the fleet’s position, astonishingly precise, with negligible error.

“Activate all Shields, launch attacks to intercept…” Roson Chris shouted, his face pale; the counter came too swiftly.

Space saw violent explosions, many ordinary starships couldn’t withstand the firepower and exploded directly, becoming space debris.

Moreover, the O’Brian Star Space Base lit up with waves of Energy Light; previously destroyed, the base was mostly inoperable, but many large-scale weapon installations remained, merely disconnected from control.

“Continue retreating…”

Roson Chris roared as he spoke, while the main ship continued firing destructive attacks towards the space base.

After a round of attacks, the five Alliance Fleets again suffered significant losses, but the O’Brian Star Space Base was essentially completely crippled, with only a few locations flickering weak Energy Light.

The alliance continued to retreat, while the O’Brian Star ceased its fire attacks.

At this moment, the flourishing O’Brian Republic Capital Star bore the scars of destruction, with many cities obliterated, filled with ruins, extremely tragic.

Moreover, in this battle faced with the invasion of the five Alliance Armies, the O’Brian Star fought with all its might, suffering severe fleet losses, the space base destroyed, and planetary resources heavily depleted, essentially at the end of its rope.

This battle nearly exhausted the foundation of the Capital Star.

Even so, if not for the emergence of the Mystic God, who optimally allocated resources for offense and defense, and controlled all mechanical bodies while invading the opposing starships, the O’Brian Republic might have become history.

Osman stood high in the sky. He looked downwards; his formidable strength granting him an astounding view. Mechanical bodies flew in the sky, flying devices everywhere, and the ground was full of destruction. Although they had repelled the five major alliance fleets, he felt no joy at all.

Moreover, the crisis was not over. If the opponents decided to advance at any cost, the final outcome was still uncertain. However, the five major alliances realistically did not dare to bet everything here.

“The opponents should have retreated beyond the attack range, no?” Xu Mo thought. If O’Brian Star remained within fleet range, then the opposing fleet would also be within the weapon range of the Capital Star.

Yet, could this be a strategic retreat?

Also, on Skull Star’s side…

The only advantageous position was Midgard Star.

The joint fleets of the Coriade Star Domain and the Tyr Star Domain still couldn’t break through the defenses of Saint Tiya Star, but only Midgard Star was breached by them.

Of course, they were still holding on.

Midgard Star, a war broke out around the Base Starship.

The suicidal small starship fleet launched from the Base Starship caused massive damage to Midgard Star, even impacting the defenses of Holy Light City. This made the Midgard Star fleet and the church’s Transcendents aware of the threat posed by the Base Starship, hence targeting it with relentless attacks, causing the Base Starship to fight and retreat simultaneously, while the Abyss fleet cooperated by intercepting most of the firepower for the Base Starship.

High above, two beams of light descended terrifyingly fast in the direction of the Base Starship, crashing directly through a starship as they hit, then collided and exploded in mid-air. One beam continued downward; it was none other than the Pope.

He also noticed the presence of the Base Starship, and naturally, his pursuer was Lin Shou.

“Buzz…”

All at once, the Abyss starships locked onto their opponent and fired, but the beam’s speed was too fast, resembling a falling meteor. Most attacks missed, and the tracking weaponry that hit his body did not affect the opponent’s speed. Unless a superweapon was deployed, there would be no threat to someone like the Pope.

Inside the Base Starship, Xu Mo naturally noticed the beams as well. He contacted the main ship of the Abyss and ordered all fleets to give a command. Instantly, the Abyss fleet all locked onto the location of the Base Starship, not advancing but rather staying distanced, with weapons aimed at the Base Starship, preparing to deploy.

This slowed the Pope’s speed, making him suddenly stop, just a short distance away from the Base Starship.

Lin Shou also stopped, though at a distance.

The Pope looked into the Base Starship; his gaze seemed to contain powerful penetrating force, trying to see inside. Clearly, he sensed the opponent’s intention.

“Pope.” At this moment, a voice emanated from the starship.

“Xu Mo?” The Pope seemed to guess the opponent’s identity, revealing an intrigued expression.

“To be precise, it’s a clone,” Xu Mo replied. “If His Holiness the Pope attacks the Base Starship, the Abyss fleet will simultaneously fire upon it, even deploying Star Annihilation weapons. The Base Starship will deactivate its shields and be destroyed in an explosion. Inside the Base Starship are numerous ‘Hive’ weapons developed by Star Ring, whose explosive power I’m sure His Holiness has witnessed. Even with the Star Annihilation level attack paired with Hive weapons all exploding, it’s unclear whether His Holiness, with all his speed, could escape unscathed.”

“If an avatar could threaten His Holiness, it would be worth it no matter how you look at it,” Xu Mo added.

The Pope chuckled, looking at the starship ahead. “So, what do you propose?”

“Withdraw your troops. We will retreat from Midgard Star; you withdraw from the O’Brien Republic, including the fleet on Skull Star,” Xu Mo stated.

“What if I disagree?” the Pope asked.

“Then we shall see what the final outcome will be,” Xu Mo replied.

The Pope gazed at the Base Starship and suddenly smiled, “Would you consider cooperating with the church to dominate the universe?”

Xu Mo was taken aback, staring at the figure outside. This Pope appeared as a madman, asking about cooperation amidst such fierce battles?

“Not interested,” Xu Mo declined.

“That’s a pity,” the Pope said. “In that case, I agree to your terms, let’s cease the hostilities.”

With that, he turned around and left, seeming not to cherish the battle at all.

He ignited the flames of war across the universe, but his objective was never to help anyone or to dominate the universe himself.

He wanted war, never-ending war, if a victory was decided so easily.

Then, it would be boring.
