Seeing Qin Hao’s dumbfounded expression, Ji Xinhu said lightly, "So, the reinforcements I mentioned were just to intimidate Daoist Shan Xu, understand?"

Qin Hao nodded in bewilderment, then put on a distraught look: "Master! Aren’t you afraid that old ghost will see through your bluff?"

He could hardly stay calm inside.

If Daoist Shan Xu really saw through it, and the old ghost went all out, wouldn’t he and his master be dead?

"Of course, I’m afraid."

Ji Xinhu smiled slightly, "But even if we’re afraid, we have to keep up the act. After all, this concerns our lives."

Hearing this, Qin Hao couldn’t help but feel touched.

Despite Ji Xinhu’s seemingly indifferent tone and attitude,

he traveled thousands of miles to find him, even when the entire sect was in action.

Isn’t this also a display of master-apprentice camaraderie?

Fearing to show awkwardness, Qin Hao changed the topic, "By the way, Master? How long has it been since that day?"

"A month." Ji Xinhu’s answer left Qin Hao’s mouth agape.

The wind suddenly blew over, choking Qin Hao half to death, and after coughing for a long time, he said with difficulty, "A month? I’ve been unconscious for a month?"

"I was kidding; it’s been only seven days." Ji Xinhu corrected himself.

"Seven days is still a long time anyway!" Qin Hao was extremely surprised. "It seems that old ghost was also badly injured, or else he wouldn’t have left me alive after seven days."

"Yes, before he left, he was attacked by the Sect Leader, Li Tongtian, and Kong Denghui; though he left, he was seriously wounded." Ji Xinhu explained.

"Then Master, how did you find me?" Qin Hao asked again.

Ji Xinhu pointed at the ring on Qin Hao’s finger, "There’s a trace of my thoughts imprinted on it."

Qin Hao looked down, and the Round Heart Ring on his finger was dim, its original power having dissipated.

He instantly understood that it was the trace of Ji Xinhu’s thoughts on the ring that allowed him to sense it and find him.

If not for the Round Heart Ring’s triple defense back then, he might have already died at the hands of Daoist Shan Xu.

Now, this Round Heart Ring once again served as a "GPS" to save him.

Qin Hao felt somewhat reluctant to discard this wasted ring.

He lovingly rubbed the ring, smiling, "Master, the treasure you gave me truly saved my life."

"Indeed." Ji Xinhu felt a bit proud, "This thing was actually left to me by my father. I wanted to give it to my daughter initially, but she was blindly arrogant, thinking her strength was superior and didn’t need such a thing, so it ended up with you."

"I see." Qin Hao silently thanked Ji Yue’Er in his heart. If it weren’t for her arrogance, he’d truly be dead!

"Master, should we return to the sect or go to battle now?" Qin Hao asked foolishly.

He felt that being part of the sect, he surely had to gain something from the battle.

Besides, it’s said that the righteous vs. evil battle is always the best way to earn achievements.

Each Evil Sect disciple has task points marked on them. As for the higher ranks, those task points are even more outstanding. It’s easily over a thousand or ten thousand, with elder-level figures being worth over ten thousand.

Thinking of this, Qin Hao’s once calm heart warmed again.

But soon, due to excitement, his wound was tugged, and he couldn’t help but grimace.

Smack!

Ji Xinhu smacked Qin Hao’s forehead, "Look at you, severely injured and still thinking of joining the battle. You need to rest and recuperate in the sect first."

"Master, even though I’m heavily injured now, I recover very fast. It only takes half a day." Qin Hao said earnestly.

Ji Xinhu looked somewhat disdainful.

"Master, it’s true... I’m not lying..." Qin Hao was a bit speechless.

With a bloodline and body gift, his recovery ability was quite remarkable. Why didn’t Ji Xinhu believe him?

Smack!

Ji Xinhu smacked Qin Hao’s forehead again, "Alright, stop wasting words. Obediently go back to heal."

"Okay." Qin Hao mumbled, planning to obey for once.

With their flying speed, they returned to the mountain gate just as dusk was approaching.

Ji Xinhu didn’t take Qin Hao directly to the mountain. They arrived at a nearby small town, where Ji Xinhu pointed to the street ahead and said, "The sect is temporarily closed, and if you want to enter, it won’t be without hassle; for now, you should stay in this suburban small town."

Qin Hao looked around, noticing the street was rather lively, and the villagers seemed kind and gentle. Among them, some stall owners had sharp gazes and slightly different temperaments.

Seeing his doubt, Ji Xinhu explained, "Some of the stall owners here are from our sect. Their talents are limited, unable to cultivate the great path, so they settle here for living."

"Oh." Qin Hao nodded. Ji Xinhu pointed to a courtyard ahead, "Leave the healing to this place."

Speaking, Ji Xinhu took out a talisman from the Void Storage Ring. It was continuously shimmering, and when he squeezed it, a familiar voice came through; it was Kong Denghui.

"Junior Brother Ji, is everything resolved? You’re needed for a discussion here." Kong Denghui’s voice was as cold as ever.

"Yes, it’s done. I’ll be there immediately." Ji Xinhu replied.

"By the way, does that mean you’ve found your apprentice?"

"Correct." Ji Xinhu did not conceal.

"Is he still alive?"

"Alive."

There was silence on the other end of the talisman.

Qin Hao could sense that Kong Denghui was extremely irked at the moment.

He felt it necessary to rub salt in the wound, so he smiled and called, "Hello, Master Kong."

Kong Denghui did not respond, his voice slightly cold, "Junior Brother Ji, come over as soon as possible."

"Alright." As the talisman’s light faded, Ji Xinhu put it back into the Void Storage Ring and turned to Qin Hao, saying, "This courtyard has servants and maids arranged for you; you take time to heal, our side’s battle should end soon, and I’ll come back to take you to the mountain gate."

With that, Ji Xinhu kicked off the ground, transforming into a streak of light and flying away.

Peculiarly, the street was bustling with people, all busy with their affairs, as if unaware of anyone taking flight.

Qin Hao stood silently, surveying the surroundings to confirm it was a harmonious street, then reached out and knocked on the vermilion gate before him.

Knock, knock, knock.

After three knocks on the door.

Creak.

The door opened, and a wrinkled face appeared; it belonged to an old servant nearing fifty.

Before Qin Hao could speak, the old servant’s eyes lit up, "Is it Master Qin?"

"What?" Qin Hao’s face was full of confusion.

"Master Qin! The honored guest arranged by Master Ji!"

The old servant added excitedly.

"It’s me." Qin Hao chuckled, immediately responding.
