The Rogue Villager Chen Erbao

Chapter 378: Brother, Who Are You With?

  • Next Chapter

Xu Fan's heart pounded with uncertainty.

He had lived on a knife's edge for years, cheating death time and again, not through sharp skills, but through his sharp eyes.

He never dared to offend those he couldn't afford to.

If he hadn't beaten up a tycoon's son in Xiangjiang a few years back, he wouldn't have run off to Sanjiang City to be an enforcer for some triad boss.

He could tell that Chen Erbao's calmness was genuine, coming from deep within.

But…

'You're just one fucking guy!'

Even a Double Flower Red Stick from the Xiangjiang Hongmen wouldn't dare be this arrogant!

Although, he had never actually seen a Double Flower Red Stick from the Hongmen.

Unsure of what to do, Xu Fan quietly took two steps back, planning to let his boys test the waters.

"Cut him down!"

He gave the order and took a few more steps back, ready to see if Chen Erbao was all show or the real deal.

The lackeys beside him could no longer hold back. They rashly brandished their machetes and charged, hacking toward Chen Erbao's chest.

THUD, THUD, THUD…

As a series of dull thuds echoed, Xu Fan, who had retreated into the center of the crowd, saw his eyes fly wide open, his expression gradually stiffening.

In the space of a single breath, all five of the charging Huangmaos were on the ground, dazed and disoriented. Blood trickled from the corner of one's mouth; another's arm was broken.

"Fuck!"

Xu Fan's eyes were wide as he swallowed hard and clenched his fists.

Years of experience in street brawls told him that something bad was about to happen tonight.

Without hesitation, he waved his hand.

"All of you, get him! He's just one guy, how many can he take on?"

Most of the Huangmaos were young, at an age where they were eager to prove themselves. Egged on by Xu Fan, they howled and charged forward.

In the Giant Whale Gang, status was something you fought for!

Make an outstanding contribution, and you'd naturally rise through the ranks!

The ultimate dream of these young punks was to become someone like Brother Fan!

Second to one, above ten thousand!

Today was their chance!

After giving the order, Xu Fan's retreat quickened until he was behind his own men. Then, he turned and bolted for his life.

Because he had just witnessed a horrifying scene.

In the center of the encirclement, figures were being sent flying high into the air, only to crash heavily back to the ground.

The Huangmaos on the outside didn't know what was happening and kept pushing their way in, while the Huangmaos on the inside were almost all on the ground…

Half a minute later, Chen Erbao hadn't even broken a sweat. He reached out, dusted off his sleeves, glanced at the Huangmaos covering the ground, and rotated his wrists with a bored expression.

He hadn't even thrown a punch.

After all, with the power of the Dragon Elephant Divine Fist, even a glancing blow would leave these Huangmaos crippled, if not dead.

He didn't have that much killing intent.

He had held back. These Huangmaos would inevitably spend three to five months in the hospital, but their offense wasn't punishable by death.

They were still young, after all.

Chen Erbao glanced curiously in the direction Xu Fan had fled, sneered, and thought to himself:

'This guy's sharp, running the moment he saw things were bad... but can you really get away?'

He waved at the dumbfounded Bai Xiaoqing in the car, signaling her not to worry. Then, his figure flickered and vanished from the spot.

「...」

Xu Fan ducked into a small path, twisting and turning through winding alleys until he had soon left that part of the city.

He stopped, leaning against a wall, flushed and panting heavily.

'Fucking terrifying!'

In all his years knocking around in Xiangjiang, he'd never seen anyone who could fight like that!

One guy against dozens of punks with knives!

He'd heard stories like that, but he'd never seen it with his own eyes!

He never imagined such a freak actually existed in the world!

Looking back on it now, he felt like he'd almost pissed his pants in fear!

'Good thing I'm quick-witted, or I'd have been done for today!'

Xu Fan calmed himself, took out his phone, and prepared to report the situation to Lord Bao.

Lord Bao didn't know about their operation today.

He had simply wanted to get some revenge for his younger brother, never expecting to run into such a ruthless character!

'Lord Bao will probably blame me for making enemies so carelessly…'

But he couldn't worry about that now. He had to report it!

BEEP... BEEP...

The line rang twice before a gruff voice came through:

"Fan, what's up?"

Lord Bao's tone was a bit unsteady, as if he was busy with something.

"Lord Bao, we're in trouble. Today…"

Xu Fan kept it brief, quickly recounting the day's events.

On the other end of the line, Lord Bao was indeed busy, accompanied by a series of strange sounds.

"Ah, ah… Lord Bao, you're so big… I can't take it, I'm going to die…"

"..."

Xu Fan's face darkened as he silently waited for Lord Bao's response.

Only after a satisfied groan from Lord Bao did Xu Fan hear his voice again.

"You just said one guy fought more than ten of you?"

"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes! It's a good thing I'm agile, otherwise I'd have been finished today!"

Xu Fan said this brazenly, without a hint of guilt.

Lord Bao's voice grew heavy.

"Get out of there first. Find a place to lay low. I'll make a call and ask around!"

"Okay, Lord Bao, you too…"

Lord Bao shoved the woman under him aside. He was about to hang up when he heard Xu Fan's voice cut off mid-sentence. He couldn't help but find it strange.

"What's wrong?"

Silence on the other end of the line.

Lord Bao frowned, a bad feeling creeping into his heart.

He had spent a great deal of effort to recruit Xu Fan as his enforcer. If Xu Fan went down for no reason, it would be a huge loss!

"Xu Fan, say something!"

Lord Bao asked again.

"Are you the boss of the Giant Whale Gang?"

An unfamiliar voice sounded from the other end.

Lord Bao sat up straight, his expression turning grave.

"Brother, what crew are you with?"

Chen Erbao, holding the phone, glanced at the trembling Xu Fan and sneered.

"You think a sewer rat like you gets to ask who I am? Don't bother asking. I'll come looking for you in a while. We'll have a nice long chat then."

BEEP... BEEP... BEEP...

After speaking, Chen Erbao hung up the phone, then turned to Xu Fan with a ferocious grin.

Xu Fan's legs were trembling, and a chill ran through his entire body. He forced a smile.

"Big brother, we don't have any deep-seated hatred…"

Chen Erbao looked at him coldly, then raised his fist and struck like lightning.

Xu Fan's vision went black. He didn't even see Chen Erbao move before he fell backward, stiff as a board.

Chen Erbao retracted his fist without a second glance and turned to leave.

That one punch would cause a concussion at the very least. Whether this punk woke up or not would depend on his own luck.

'Besides, he reeks of blood. He's probably got a lot of lives on his hands. No injustice if he dies!'

'Given the things the Giant Whale Gang has done, probably none of those Huangmaos were clean. They must have done plenty of wicked and harmful things!'

Chen Erbao felt he had already been merciful enough.

'Once I'm done with this current business, I'll take care of these scumbags from the Giant Whale Gang one by one!'

Returning to the Land Rover, Chen Erbao opened the door and drove off.

When Bai Xiaoqing saw Chen Erbao return safely, her anxious heart finally settled.

Although Chen Erbao's moves as he fought dozens of men had been stylish, she had been extremely worried.

After all, those gleaming machetes were no joke!
