The Rise of the Iron Wall!

Chapter 886: The Third Penalty!

Honestly, Higo broke a sweat when he saw the man rolling on the ground, roaring in pain and clutching his foot as if it had just snapped.

The boy saw everything from a good angle, and he knew there was no way a player could get injured from that little contact, especially a new player who had just come in as a substitute.

However, the act was convincing, and Malick Thiaw’s tackle didn’t really help here. The young French defender looked so guilty as he just sat on the ground, so even though the referee didn’t really see what happened, he put two and concluded on his own here.

"On-site decision! A tackle from Malick Thiaw as the last man standing! A red card and a penalty kick for Mainz!"

BOOM!

The decision stunned everyone, enough to make them speechless immediately. However, the one who reacted the worst was Malick Thiaw himself, as the defender looked so pale as if blood had been drained from his face.

However, at this point, the boy couldn’t care less about the red card. No, he himself had already known that he would be sent off the pitch immediately due to his stupidity, even though the opponent was just playing a drama here, and he was ready to accept it.

No, what the young defender found difficult to accept was the penalty decision.

"No! The tackle was outside of the box! He hadn’t entered our territory yet, Ref!" He complained quite fiercely. "That should be just a free kick! Fuck! If this is a pen, you are trying to rob us!"

At this point, the boy didn’t care about excessive complaining anymore. I mean, what would be the worst-case scenario here? He had already gotten a red card, so no punishment on the pitch could be worse than that. So, why not use that to put pressure on the referee?

The others also followed. Higo, especially, rushed forward without hesitation, pointing straight at Karim Onisiwo, who was still rolling on the ground in pain but holding the other foot right now, as if the injury had transferred to the other spot.

"You see that bastard acting like that, and you choose to fucking believe him?! Are you kidding me?!" His face was so close to the referee, and Omar Mascarell had to hold him back so that the boy wouldn’t do anything about it.

Honestly, this was the first time he saw Higo snapping like this toward the referee. Usually, the boy would only be in a foul mood when the team’s defense didn’t work as planned, but never toward the ref himself.

Still, after getting two penalties in the first half, getting the third one was a little bit too much, and the fact that it all was because of crappy acting from the opponent only made things worse.

Hell, even Frohling himself didn’t hold back here. The man spat on the fourth referee on the sideline, having to be held back by Tomasz Waldoch before he could get a red card on this occasion.

Everything seemed to be chaotic right now, with Schalke’s side being so furious here, thinking that they got fooled by everyone in today’s game. After all, it was rare to suffer from three penalties in a game, right?

Still, the decision stood. Hell, the referee didn’t even check the VAR, having already deemed Malick Thiaw guilty. Poor boy, he just covered his face with his jersey, shambling off the pitch while being so ashamed of what he had just done for the team.

However, not just him, but the referee also gave Higo a yellow card for an excessive complaint. The boy didn’t really think so, but with him facing the man straight to the face, with only 2 cm of distance between them, everyone would be able to see why the punishment stood.

Having no choice, Higo finally sighed helplessly, starting to curse at everything that happened in this game.

"Yeah, fuck it! This is so fucking ridiculous! I mean, if they really want to prevent us from getting a point, just say so, right? Why would they need to make us suffer like this?! For fuck’s sake!"

The others were also dissatisfied, but when they saw Higo was in his mode, they knew that saying anything would only make them a target for the boy’s rant. In the end, they let him vent his emotions first, letting him handle everything.

It helped that Higo had already saved 2 penalties today, so getting the third one, while almost impossible, should still be within Higo’s grasp.

Still, one thing that infuriated everyone more was the fact that Karim Onisiwo was back on his two feet again, holding the ball while walking to the penalty spot to execute it himself. The man was grinning widely, even with a little smirk that looked too close to a taunt toward the away team right now.

’Oh, yeah, this fucker really wants to pick a fight, huh?’ Higo scowled, starting to lower his stance. ’Well, let’s see if he can do anything better than his two other teammates...’

He took a deep breath, waiting for Karim Onisiwo to take the first step here. Silence filled the whole stadium, as right now, no one wanted to treat this as a sure goal. No, they had already seen what Higo was capable of, and they didn’t want to suffer from a false hope again like before.

’Come on... Let me see where you are going to send the ball to... I can do this... Come here, you Bastard!’

FWEEE!

In the end, the referee finally blew the whistle, and Karim Onisiwo finally made his move. The man did a little bit of a stutter run, trying to shake Higo’s rhythm even for a moment.

Unfortunately, while this kind of a little trick worked against any other goalkeeper, Higo was never an ordinary one, as he managed to read everything perfectly here.

’Left, not too far! Chest-height! I can fucking do this!’

BAM!
