The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 858: Pure Provocation! Dortmund Goes Berserk!
Well, silence followed, as the stand where Fabian was celebrating, slamming his chest violently while also patting his Schalke badge with the pride of the local boy, was where all the Dortmund fanatics gathered.
Honestly, if it was any other normal game or if the opponent wasn’t Borussia Dortmund, Frohling would’ve already slapped his forehead at this point before starting to scream at the top of his lungs, scolding the boy from afar.
However, the man was also a local who grew up hating Dortmund, so when he saw Fabian acting like this, his first reaction was laughing.
Yeah, a raw, pure, unadulterated laugh, as if what he had just seen was the funniest thing that the world had ever offered to humanity.
"HAHAHA! That’s how you should do it, Fabian!" He rushed toward the boy to join the celebration as well, much to everyone’s surprise. "Come on! We are going to own this fucking stadium!" He roared in provocation.
Of course, this was definitely not a good celebration to do in front of the home team’s supporters. All the people with the yellow jerseys in the stands snapped immediately, starting to curse and even throw bottles of water toward those two villains.
"FUCK YOU!"
"DON’T THINK YOU CAN LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE!"
"YOU THINK YOU ARE A BIG SHOT?! FUCK! WAIT FOR ME THERE!"
The security team had to work harder than ever to prevent the supporters from coming down the pitch, and Frohling couldn’t help but feel satisfied when he saw this. The coach didn’t even care about the yellow card that he received, feeling like this little provocation was worth the punishment.
Even Michael Ballack could only shake his head in astonishment when he saw this.
"I don’t know whether I should be impressed or not here, but I can tell you that this is a stupid decision that is preplanned and would work just for this game." The man said.
Daniel Herzog just raised one of his eyebrows lightly, waiting for the legendary midfielder to continue.
"I mean, Torsten Frohling and Fabian Reese know exactly that The Yellow Wand is quite empty right now, and with no one else all around the stadium, this is definitely the best time to taunt their rival without getting any repercussions more than a yellow card."
The man paused for a second before letting out a helpless sigh. "Still, people hold grudges, you know? This will not be their last time playing in this stadium, so why would they make things difficult for themselves?"
At least, that was what almost everyone thought when they saw this. Still, those two couldn’t care less, and some guys who were also bold enough joined the celebration as well, waving at the supporters as if it was the mission of their lives to rub this lead on Dortmund’s face.
As for the others, like Morita or Higo, well... They decided to back down immediately, not wanting to get involved in this shit. They were not suicidal, and it would be better to distance themselves from those foolish teammates before they got caught in the crossfire.
Unfortunately, being their teammates was enough to make them get dragged into this mess.
Somehow, all the Dortmund players shifted their gaze to the opposition half, eyeing Schalke’s defensive line with a murderous intent. It was clear that after this, they would go berserk, wanting nothing but to flip the table and make sure that Schalke would leave this place with the biggest humiliation that they could suffer.
Even Higo himself couldn’t help but gulp, finding their gazes to be unsettling. Inwardly, he couldn’t help but mutter, ’Yeah, this shit is going to be way more difficult than any game I have ever experienced. Better get ready for everything, or my head will roll in the next moment...’
Well, Higo was right to some extent. However, it wasn’t him who got killed here.
No, the first victim was Sebastian Rudy, as the man seemed to be relaxed quite a bit after the team scored. He didn’t expect that his side would be breached instantly right after the kickoff, as Julian Brandt and Raphael Guerreiro made a combination attack that let the Portuguese fullback escape from his grasp.
Not only that, the fullback didn’t go for a normal cross. No, he dribbled the ball so close to the touchline, and yet he still managed to control it within the pitch while also entering the penalty box forcefully.
"Fuck! How could he be there?! Are you guys fucking asleep or what?!" Higo couldn’t help but curse, lowering his stance while getting ready for everything. "No! Don’t go to him! Keep your fucking eyes on cutback! Leave him to me!" He shouted at whoever it was who wanted to come there.
It was not a hasty judgement, but a calculated plan that Higo made in that split second. There was no way in hell anyone could approach Raphael Guerreiro without opening a space in the middle to invite a cutback, and when that happened, he would be so screwed.
However, with the others guarding the cutback scenario, this left Raphael Guerreiro with little option, and with him being in a narrow angle toward the goal...
BAM!
In a panic, he tried to shoot the ball by himself, aiming at the tight angle between Higo’s body and the goalpost. However, this was way too easy for the goalkeeper to handle. Hell, he didn’t even need to rely on his clairvoyant ability, just needing to extend his left foot to block the ball away from the goal.
"ARGH!" The Portuguese wingback groaned, screaming at the sky. "Sorry, everyone! Poor decision for me!" He apologized while running back to the corner spot immediately, getting ready for the corner kick.
Of course, Higo wouldn’t stay quiet here. Even after saving that ball earlier, his mouth was still running quite loose.
"COME ON! WAKE UP, EVERYONE!" His scream echoed throughout the whole stadium, allowing everyone—even the spectators back home—to hear his instruction. "We still have 70 minutes left, for God’s sake! Why are you so relaxed with only a one-goal lead?! Who the fuck do you think you are, Bayern Munich or what?!"
