The Rise of the Iron Wall!
Chapter 802: Drunk
Honestly, this should be the first time Higo consumed an alcoholic beverage, and although people said that wine was different than any other cheap alcohol outside, the intoxicating feeling that he felt in his burning stomach was enough to make him start losing consciousness here.
Fujita-san just sighed helplessly as he helped the boy get into the car with a lot of struggle, especially since he couldn’t really put pressure on Higo’s injured shoulder.
"You should’ve told me that this is your first time drinking wine, Ryusuke!" He complained. However, after a moment of silence, the same man shook his head quickly. "No, no, it is not your fault. I should’ve known that this is your first time, and I completely forgot to teach you how to drink it properly."
"Prop... Properly? Is that even a thing? You just... You just drink it, right?" Higo parroted the words with all the remaining consciousness he had inside his head right now.
The feeling he had right now was so confusing, hard to describe. It was a mix of euphoria and mild dizziness, enough to make the boy think that the world belonged to him. More than that, he also felt so light, as if he could just fly straight away if he didn’t anchor himself to earth.
He was drunk, yeah, completely.
"Of course, there is a way to drink it properly." Fujita-san sighed while helping the boy get into the car. "You should pace yourself at a relaxing speed, sipping it slowly. This will make the feeling gradual and enjoyable. Why the hell would you take a shot of it as if wine is just some sort of cheap alcohol? You even did it twice, for God’s sake! What the hell are you thinking there?!" His tone was full of exasperation.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get any answer from Higo right now. No, the boy had already lost consciousness, sleeping soundly on the back of his car. The only saving grace here was that the boy instinctively protected his injured shoulder so that Fujita-san didn’t have to worry about it on the journey back to the boy’s flat.
Well... Another saving grace here was the fact that Higo’s flat was just a few blocks away from the restaurant. It only took around seven minutes before the vehicle arrived in front of the building. Instead of helping Higo straight away, though, he called Kumiko’s phone immediately.
"Fujita-san? I thought you were having dinner with Ryukkun. Is there something wrong?" Kumiko’s tone was full of worry, not even greeting the man properly.
Fujita-san was so speechless right now, looking at Higo with a little twitch at the corner of his lips.
’To have your girlfriend conditioned to think of the worst-case scenario when someone else is calling her... Ryusuke, you sure are quite a troublemaker, huh?’
Nevertheless, he still answered the question with a calm tone. "Don’t worry, Kumiko-san, it is not a big deal. This should be his first time drinking wine, and I never thought he would get drunk because of it. I am now in front of the building and not able to bring him up, so can you and Sakura-san help me get him to his room?" His tone was helpless.
"..."
A short pause followed for a moment before Kumiko’s voice could be heard once again. "Oh my... I didn’t think things would develop into this... Wait a second, Fujita-san, we are coming."
Without even waiting for the man to answer, the call was cut instantly, leaving the agent twitching the corner of his lips speechlessly. Fortunately, the girls didn’t take long to go down, and soon enough, Fujita-san could see them both rushing toward his car.
"Oh, my..." Kumiko gasped once again as she opened the back door of the car. "This is the first time I see him drunk like this. Ryukkun? Come on, let’s get back to your room first..." She shook his body gently.
"It wouldn’t work, Kumiko-san. I have been doing that a lot earlier." Fujita-san sighed.
"To think that he would be knocked out by wine like this..." Sakura shook her head in exasperation. "Anyway, let’s get him back first. Kumiko-chan, don’t do that to his shoulder. Try to pick him up from his waist. Anyway, let me do that; you handle this side."
In the end, it took the combined hard work of three people to get Higo to his bed. Not an easy task, definitely, as even though the boy could be considered small compared to any other goalkeepers outside, the boy had gained so much weight since he came to Germany, and even Kumiko had only realized by now that her boyfriend was not the same scrawny boy like he was in high school.
"Oh, gosh, who would’ve thought that letting two girls and one skinny man carry an injured man like this?" Sakura let out a groan as she finally let her body fall into the couch once again, sweat glistening on her face. "Anyway, you okay, Fujita-san? Do you need a room to stay for one night?" She asked after looking at how red the man’s face was right now.
Kumiko, who came out of the kitchen with glasses of water, also looked at the agent with concern. "Are you going to drive with your state right now? You might not be drunk, but you are quite peppered here. Would it be better to stay for a night?"
Fujita-san paused for a moment, pondering what they said. Indeed, he could feel his emotions running high right now, as if he was getting overstimulated by the dinner earlier. Still, in the end, the man shook his head strongly, rejecting that offer from the girls.
"No, don’t worry, I will be fine." Fujita-san took that glass of water in one gulp before getting ready to leave. "Anyway, the contract is on the map that Higo carried earlier. He will definitely allow you guys to read it, but don’t take any pictures and don’t spread any words about it, okay?" He warned those two.
They just looked at each other for a moment before nodding simultaneously. "Sure, Fujita-san. We know what we shouldn’t do."
"Good." The man took a deep breath. "Well, I will have to leave first. Take care of the boy, okay? Bye!"
